"Man, who did he blow to get this title shot."
"I know right?"
"No seriously, this guy is a piece of trash. He may be lower then trash. He deserves a title shot like Hexx deserves air time."
"It's ridiculous isn't it?"
"Yes it is. It's alright though, he's not a credible threat to the title. Christian Gardner will take care of Spike Kane with no problem."
Gotcha! Venom and Andrew Jacobson sit in the Young Guns locker room strapping on pads for a sparring session as they talk about the upcoming Pay Per View A Night to Remember. Neither of them seem to keen on Spike Kane getting a title shot on the show, and who would? They guy has done nothing since his return other then win his name back from some jobber.
"Seriously though V, we should probably discuss our own matches."
"Yeah you're right. You're going to have no problem though. Jayson is no more then a flunky and tag team specialist."
"Yeah, and if I happen to lose no one will even see it because I'm on the web show. It's not my match that's bothering me though. Did you happen to catch your opponents promo yet?"
"Ricky didn't cut a promo yet."
"No, Alex Jones."
"Oh, that thing he calls a promo where he sucks up to me and Ricky while trying to point out how great he is all at the same time?"
"Yeah, that one. Something about his promo stuck with me and I really need to know, why did you pick me to join the Young Guns?"
"Are you really going to let him get you hung up on that? Listen kid, the reason I picked you is pretty simple. I picked you because no matter how many matches you lose you keep coming back. You don't go run and hide at home for a few weeks and try an decide how to start over. You just brush off the losses and keep going. I picked you because you lose and have been trying to learn from your mistakes. Quite simply, I chose you for the same reason I chose the rest of the Young Guns, to train you to one day be like me."
"Why not someone like Alex Jones though? The Young Guns have always been Champions. Doc, JFK, Zelda, they all held gold and were top contenders for the Gold while they were Young Guns. I'm not even in title contention right now."
"Alex Jones will never be a Young Gun because he doesn't know how to work with himself let alone anyone else. He'll never be a Young Gun because he always has can't handle the spot light and the spot light always shines on the Guns. You need to stop letting this idiot get into your head, he won't get into mine. It's only a matter of time before you're in title contention again. Just wait and see."
Does Andrew tear up at the advice and positive words from the leader of the Young Guns? No, he just smiles with a cocky grin and you can see the confidence growing in the young man as he finishes strapping on his pads. He's growing up before your eyes and before you know it Andrew will be the one writing promos trying to put other people over.
Here I am again, standing in front of another camera getting ready to promote another National Championship match. It seems like I've been through so many of these now that I could never lose this Championship. I've held this belt for so long now that they have run out of opponents to throw me up against so they are picking them out of a hat now it seems. I mean really, how did we get the combination of Alex Jones and Ricky Johnson?
I understand how Ricky got here. He's been quietly building up a new reputation since he lost his opportunity to face me to Jack Manson a couple months back. He's slowly been turning his reputation around. No longer is he the guy who only shows up and works hard when he feels like it. He's worked long and hard and has built his name back up. He no longer lives as the wrestler whose won everything but the World Championship, no, he's built his name back up and climbed up the rankings and has become the man that could be the next contender to the World Championship. Ricky Johnson has earned his chance to try and win another National Championship.
I can even understand why Alex Jones is here. Me and him, we have just a little bit of history. We actually have a lot of history, so much that any idiot whose followed wrestling for more then a few weeks or has ever actually paid attention to an Alex Jones promo would know that it's a good idea to put him up against me. That doesn't make him worthy of a title shot though. That's not what makes sense about him getting that shot. If history is what got you title shots then I would have been the first one to face Charlie when he was World Champion.
What makes sense about Alex Jones getting this title shot is that he's changed his name too. Even if he had to use a fake belt to get himself into the World Championship contention, he did it. He worked his name into the title contention and had his shots and solidified his name as a top guy in this company once and for all. He's earned the opportunity to be in big title matches. The problem is, he's a failure when it comes to the World Championship so there is no other logical step but to put him in the National Championship picture.
Why should they both get a title shot at once though is what makes no sense to me? Leo Fox owes me a favor and right now, it seems like he or maybe one of the members of management are trying to screw me in this situation. What point is there are having both Ricky and AJ get a title shot at the same time? They only tag teamed once, so its not like they're setting them up to see if they'll break up. They didn't draw in a number one contenders match to face me. One has a win over me and the other one doesn't. Why is this happening?
I'll tell you why, because someone who has some pull around here is threatened. Someone around here knows that the Young Guns are becoming to much of a force to be reckoned with anymore. Someone seen what I would have done to Trent Helms if Steve Awesome hadn't saved his ass and is trying to punish me. They know that I am the greatest leader of men this company has ever seen and wants to slow me down anyway they can. It's not going to work though. Even if I lose this match. Even if my quest to be the longest running National Champion ever is cut short I will just move on to bigger and better things. If whoever is behind this somehow succeeds, they'll just have to try even harder to stop me because it will just make me more focused then I've ever been in my entire life.
So whoever out there is trying to stop me, go ahead and bring on your Alex Jones. Go ahead and bring on your Ricky Johnson. You can bring your whole army of people if you want because nothing will stop me. I have my own army of wrestlers and we won't stop until every single member of that locker room is looking up at me, at us, as the greatest group of wrestlers this company has ever seen.
"I know right?"
"No seriously, this guy is a piece of trash. He may be lower then trash. He deserves a title shot like Hexx deserves air time."
