Ah, Venom.
How are you?
I'm glad to see you could make it today.
Please, have a seat.
Now, I know you'd much prefer to stand, but trust me, you're going to want to have a seat.
Now, I suppose you're wondering why I called you hear today.
Well, it's very simple, and yet, very complicated.
Let me begin by saying this:
You are fantastic at what you do, No question about it.
You've been with the company for some time haven't you?
And nothing but success for you.
My does the time fly.
You've been National champion for over four months now haven't you?
That's quite an impressive track record.
But, time are changing and you're performance has clearly been slipping.
Which brings me to the reason I called this little get together:
There's been talk of letting you go.
...
Now, I know this comes as a shock.
Quite frankly, I was mystified myself.
You? A proud member of the Young Guns?
The sidekick of that great group?
When I hear Venom, I was shocked.
Probably as much as you are now.
But, I put my objectivity on the backburner on this one.
This really is for your own good.
The problem really stems from you, as I have seen.
You could have been the leader of that group.
I mean, minus Zelda Knite, Charlie Velez, and maybe Jason Blair, there was clearly an opportunity that you missed.
Oh, wait, was that everyone in the Young Guns?
I thought there were more members.
Sorry about that.
They seem interchangeable anyway.
...
Would you care for some water?
You seem to have lost some color in your face.
Oh, wait, there is comes.
But now it's more red.
Look, I completely understand you're feelings here.
Though I have never been in a stable myself.
I was always more of a one man show, I guess.
But you? You were more than happy to play the role of 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th fiddle weren't you?
I know this from what I saw firsthand, and what many have said about you.
Yes, there has been some talk about here about you.
And I have to take what I hear from them into consideration.
And no, I'm not in any position to give you their names.
I don't want any sort of trouble around here.
I run a tight ship, you know.
Anyway, they say you shy away from leadership.
Some say you were offered a lead role and you turned it down.
I find you unwillingness to move up the ladder unacceptable.
You've become complacent, sir.
And, it's starting to show in your work.
I feel your pain on this too.
I was once like that.
I didn't care about where I was.
I was just happy to be there.
And you see where it's gotten me.
But, enough about me, Let's continue
Among other things, the folks around the office are also...Well, I didn't want to bring this up....
But there's saying you went through a nasty break-up that you've never really recovered from.
Is that true?
Because I can see it in your work.
And if its not true, what reason do you site for such sloppiness?
Did Ms. Knite break your heart?
She has a tendency to do so.
You know, I was available for any couples therapy.
I know all about how to make relationships work.
You could have come to me.
But, I know what you're saying:
You would have seemed weak.
Felt like less of a man.
No, you wanted to truck along as if nothing had ever happened.
You were so eager to please.
Didn't want anyone to feel sorry for you.
No one here, would have thought less of you.
And, honestly, I admire that sort of dedication.
But that of course, begs another question:
Why would you feel such a way?
Until recently, I always thought management was here to help.
But maybe you've seen it as I have.
The management is not good here.
In fact, let's not mix words...it's terrible.
All of them, frauds, liars, power-hungry madmen, stopping at nothing to assume total control.
But...that brings up another question:
Are you part of them?
You just playing second fiddle, carrying your championship as a blackmail tool.
Yes, I see it now.
You were handed the National title as a sort of hush money.
You sat silent as the powers took hold, and you greedily accept it as payment.
And now, you've been caught.
Yes, you don't need to look at me as if you don't know what I'm talking about.
I know when someone's faking it.
You're charming school boy smile and good looks do not work on me, mister.
I am not one of these hussies from accounting that you flirt with all day long.
No, am I your opponent.
And I've caught you red handed.
You will fool everyone no longer..
So, I tell you what we're going to do.
Hey! Don't you cross your arms and turn your nose up at me!
I am merely telling the truth, and I don't care if you don't like it.
As I was saying, I have come up with the solution to this problem that were currently face.
At a Night to Remember, that is, of course Sunday, you will come to work and you will put that title up for grabs in this match that we are about to have.
And, since you can no longer be trusted to hold that title with any dignity or respect...
I will take it from you.
That may upset you even more, but I assure you, it's for the best.
Because you've had the title for so long, people are forgetting.
Don't you remember the days when that title meant something?
Now, do to your poor work habits, it has lost all that luster.
It used to be more shiny too, but be that as it may, it's high time that the National title finds a new owner.
And I see no one more fitting to have it, then myself.
No, Getting angry won't solve anything.
And begging won't change my mind.
My decision is final.
So, thank you very much for your time, Mr. Venom.
I personally wish you the best in all your future endeavors.
I'm sure you can see yourself out.
...
By the way, you have until the end of the day to clean out your desk and cubicle.
You're fired.
How are you?
I'm glad to see you could make it today.
Please, have a seat.
Now, I know you'd much prefer to stand, but trust me, you're going to want to have a seat.
