(The video than moves to the actual set up for the Cold Cut. The video is in black and white with a rugged grainy picture. The backdrop is bare, only a blank wall and there are no other props in the room. Nathan himself is sitting in the center of the frame. He is wearing a black T-shirt and loose fitting jeans and dark sun-glasses and he is staring intently at the camera. This time though he is only holding a bottle of water and not smoking a cigarette which has become synonymous with Nathan.
In this Cold Cut like with all Cold Cuts his intention is not making those watching to watch what he does but to listen to what he says.
Before he begins he takes a sip of water to clear his throat.)
Nathan Webb: Greetings to everyone worldwide. This is the Cold Cut and not just any Cold Cut; it is the first ever in not only England, but a foreign country period.
Let me say this if you can’t tell already I have had help this week from the gracious NCW staff in helping me put this together. They put together the nice intro package which you were just treated to and we are filming this in a studio here in London. The only downside is that due to this being filmed in a closed studio there is no smoking allowed…which is probably a subliminal message to me from NCW…I wonder what that could be? So if I become more fidgety than usual I do sincerely apologize.
Before I get into the meat and potatoes of what this whole shoot is about…and that would be my Fatal Four Way match for a future shot at the NCW Honor Championship…but…but (Nathan shakes his finger looking away from the camera) I have to say a few things first.
(Nathan returns to looking at the camera straight on)
Nathan: First I want to thank the people of the United Kingdom for their respect and their hospitality that they have showed me over the past month during this tour that NCW has put on. Everywhere that I have went I have been shown respect and have been treated well in each place that I have stayed in. I also would like to say that the fans in each arena have been loud and raucous and I expect the same if not more when this tour concludes in London England.
(Nathan takes a sip of water where he would normally smoke a cigarette before continuing on)
Nathan: Also let me thank Falcon and congratulate him on his 100th victory this past Sunday on Collision. While that victory was over me I think it was a victory hard fought, with honor and done the right way. He is the epitome of what a wrestler and a consummate professional is all about. I would like to say we kicked off the show the right way last Sunday, and know you will do the same as you face Doc at Reborn. And while I lost that match I will carry the lessons I learned from it this Sunday at Reborn that I can assure you but I will get into those lessons a little later into this tirade.
(Nathan takes another swig of water before continuing on)
Nathan: So who is Nathan Webb?
Everyone knows the story of my past. How I left wrestling two years ago with my tail tucked between my legs having reached my emotional and physical low point. How I came back in April hoping to do what most thought I could do when I entered the business. How these past few months have been described as my Rebirth.
So far since I have gotten here you have seen someone mentally unstable, somewhat unsure of himself, and not one that would seem to be the prototypical wrestler.
In that ring though I am far from that. I am competitive, driven, cold, and calculated. While my out of ring appearance would have most to believe that I have not won a single match the person I am in that ring has brought me a three and one record. While it is impressive it is indicative that I am just getting started. I am here for the long haul and like everyone who enters this company I am looking to get to the highest places, earning titles and the respect of my peers and fans alike.
But I am only beginning my way up to the top. On Sunday I look to further my assent to the top tier of the company. To separate myself from the revolving door that is the bottom tier of the company. I unlike those there am looking to show I am here to stay to the surmise of Mr. Pooler and Bates who assume that I will fade into the proverbial sunset.
(Nathan rubs his chin collecting his thoughts before moving on)
Nathan: So I guess this is the part where I talk about my opponents for Sunday. To start let me get the easiest out the way; Joe Everyman. I am not going to lie to say that Joe can’t catch a break would be the understatement of the year. The man is the laughing stock of the wrestling world. Despite that he still managed to bust me open when we were in Manchester. Despite his best efforts though he was still not able to best me in our match. I am sure he is going to say something along the likes of how he was almost able to beat me and how I am such the non factor in this match compared to Pooler and Bates.
To this I say about yes he is talented despite his laundry list of his losses and who he lost to and he with that I could not believe he has actually held titles. I am sure every person on the NCW roster has their own story of him or her beating Joe Everyman if they even bother to keep that match in their brain for that long. I am sure for most it is equated as time they would not get in their respective lives back to even spend the seconds to recollect an unimportant moment in each of their lives.
Let’s face it while beating Joe was considered the biggest win of my career I am sure after a few more wins that match will feel the same way to me in remembering it.
But of course unlike Bates and Pooler I haven’t totally discounted you like they have discounted both of us. While I am sure if you won Joe, this would not have been the weirdest thing that would have happened in NCW history….ok it would be the weirdest thing in NCW history to date and is something that I know would haunt at least me for life not to mention might actually humble Pooler and send Bates into mental breakdown worse than when his wife left him.
I am sure that even thinking about Joe Everyman winning is depressing everyone including myself so I will move on.
(Nathan takes a swig of water and continues on)
Of course now I get onto opponent two Mr. Bob “What will I do next?” Pooler. I am not talking about him because he was the second perceived weakest out of my three opponents but because I had the second most to say to him.
Believe it or not we have both met in the ring before. Of course those familiar with me would know I lost our match. I am not happy about losing but I can say that it didn’t kill me and only made me better. It made me hungrier. It made me want to climb that ladder all the more. It made me want to face you again to prove that I not only could beat you but also prove that I deserved to be in that top tier that we all want to be in.
This top tier you spent a whole promo about. A whole promo that could be condensed into two sentences but wasted precious minutes of our lives taking the long way around. Essentially this one video segment could be summed by saying that you would win and ascend into this top tier, and that you would send me packing into the sunset where I belonged. It is as simple as that.
So why didn’t you keep it that simple. I appreciate the fact that you dedicated a whole RP to me but let’s face it I was bored senseless half way through it. Just figured I’d let you hear it from me.
As far as the match is concerned well let me say I am not that person you faced two months ago, I have changed and I have been constantly learning. Let’s just say this I am bringing more tricks to this party this time around and I hope to surprise you of course being the self serving douche you are I think you will be too oblivious to even notice.
See its that simple. You don’t have to ramble on like a jackass to come off effectively. So do us all a favor and shut up for all out sakes.
(Nathan grins and takes a final sip of water before tossing the bottle aside)
And now for the man of the hour. The one who calls himself Bates. The one who seems to have stayed in this at his home gym this past week. An extreme warrior in the past who is looking to be reborn into a more “technical wrestler.” Wow do I have a lot to say to you, not because I don’t want to talk about the other two but because you left the door wide open on yourself.
(Nathan strokes his chin thinking about where to begin)
First seeing your promo in that “gym” of yours it kind of surprised me when looking into your bio about where you came from. In your little **** talking fest of a video you made you proclaimed yourself a white collar fellow. Of course looking at your bio I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw that you were an IT guy.
Let me explain the laughter:
Here I was seeing you work out, talking smack, talking about your extreme resume and all along this white collar life you talk about was just being another IT professional. Now in the real world…. which I happen to be in even though I lack the mental stability to fully appreciate it sometimes, a White Collar guy is the banker, the investor, the businessman, the lawyer, but not the computer geek in the back room. This brings me to my next point. This guy so ready to talk smack about everyone else, masquerading as the jock is really a geek…a real sheep in wolf’s clothing. Yes the first salvo was thrown out by Leroy friggin’ Jenkins, yes the man that the internet loves to make fun of. Yes he was also one to fire the first shot but we all know what happened to him…hated by all and probably in some grave yard in a World of Warcraft game near you.
Yes the IT guy who had the carpet ripped from beneath his feet by losing his job like a lot of other Americans when they were shipped over seas to India. Frankly thinking about this fact made be realize why he was so bitter about life…but with Bates and Bates only I would have preferred to deal with someone with broken English than his kind and gentle demeanor. Just me.
Besides re-watching your little salvo that you launched almost immediately after this match was made It became abundantly clear. All I had to notice was your terrible sense of humor. That ‘over easy” crack you made was about as lame as lame gets. Its about as lame as Joe Everyman thinking he has any shot at winning this match and you know how low that is. Yeah weight lifting may be your new thing so stick to it because obviously God has not blessed you with a silver tongue.
Now simmer down ya’ll. I know what you are thinking. “You are the pot calling the kettle black.” To these detractors let me tell you this. I know I am a geek. I am the Marine Corps’ version of a geek. But instead of leaving the past in the dust like Bates’ wife did to him, I embraced it.
I know I am a geek and I embrace it. I know I have issues in terms of mental stability. I know I have many obstacles to overcome but unlike you I embrace who I am instead of only pretending to be something I am not. I am a freak but guess what I am proud of it.
You act like what you did is a burden. You were the Xtreme champion and have the battle scars to prove but instead of taking that to move to a better place, like this technical wrestler you are so determined to become but instead you are so eager to drop everything that you deem to be …undesirable.
Let me tell you something…man to man….the more you try to hide the more those things will sink you like a bag of bricks. Not to say you have to like them but you can’t hide from them. Just some simple advice from a person who has been there before. Who understands what you are going through. And believe me working out in some dank gym from Sunday to Sunday isn’t going to solve any of your problems.
Whether you take my advice is up to you…but I will make something abundantly clear and . This is not the type of match that you overlook an opponent especially me. You may think the “real match” is the one between you and Pooler with the concept of a Fatal Four Way concept simply lost on you. I guess common sense is not really a virtue of yours. Either way I will be in this match whether you like it or not and I am bringing my paranoia, my neurosis, my skeletons are all coming with me. Like me or not I will make myself a force in this match and there is nothing you, Pooler or Everyman can do about it.
Again you may be the favorites to win…on paper…but the Heat were the favorites on paper but guess what the team who wasn’t supposed to make it out of the first round much less sweep the Lakers ended up winning. I will do my best to make you look like Lebron Bates, it will be awesome to see you choke.
This brings me to my previous point about what I learned from the loss at the hands of Falcon. When I looked at him in the ring it was almost like a mirror image of myself. Unfortunately I lacked something he had, something he had in droves. He had a killer instinct. I was all about fighting and being competitive but I didn’t wasn’t concerned about inflicting pain. I wasn’t concerned with making him suffer. Falcon on the other hand wasn’t concerned with whether I was his best friend or worst foe…he was in there to inflict pain and thus win his match whether I liked it or not. He was and still is and equal opportunity sadist.
Whether I had not thought of it or subconsciously afraid of what I might become but this time around I know what I need to do. I will do my best to hurt all three of you. Whoever is in my crosshairs at any time during that match I will make it my mission to make sure you suffer, to beat the holy hell out of, to put out of commission. That is my ticket to victory to beat each of you up so bad that you won’t be able to kick out if I make the pin or force you to tap when I lock a submission in. If I win you won’t forget what I did to each of you. If I lose I know you won’t forget what I am capable of if I face any one you again. You will know that you barely survived a match with me. Winning may not be a guarantee I can make but making you suffer is one I will ensure happens no matter your best efforts otherwise.
I am the Cold Spider, and I ain’t going anywhere.
You will want to see what I do on Sunday.
