Thank you again for coming here to view my column again NCW fans, it’s always a pleasure to be bringing you the latest and greatest NCW news each and every week without missing a beat. This week we again had two action packed shows filled with the world’s greatest wrestlers doing what they do best, and here I am doing what I do best, telling you about it and about what is in store in the future, so sit back and lets get this started shall we?
A lot of exciting developments this week, we saw Shelly Taylor-Jones undefeated streak come to a crashing halt at the hands of Crystal Hilton, we got to see some dirty tricks by Bob Pooler to secure a win, and some we even saw a princess kicked out onto the street by the boss man, Leonard Fox. None of that even includes the ever growing complex battle between Flashbang and The Young Guns which is clearly developing into one of the top headlines of the NCW year with their battles becoming more and more heated.
Going into Picture Perfect things are really looking like they are heating up, with everything that is developing I’m thinking this year's show is going to be a great one for you fans, a lot of good mixed with some great feuds is going to mean this year's show just might be the best one yet. We have a slew of great young talent that has signed contracts recently and we still have our veteran main stays that are looking to still make an impact, everything is shaping up nicely to be a great show.
This past week, you fans have decided that you'd most like to see Dave Holland for one night only on the anniversary show and it was a great choice in a tight race. Every single person I listed would be a great addition to what is sure to be a star studded affair right off the heels of a huge pay per view like Picture Perfect. Trust me as well, we have a few really good matches set up for all of you to see, you will not want to miss that show, but we'll get to that when we get there.
This week's poll is going to be very simple, it's just going to be Which show are you more excited for Picture Perfect or the 4 Year Anniversary Collision? Both shows are going to be huge and a lot of effort will go into each, so which show do you want to see the most?
RECAP AND REVIEW
-TRAUMA-
RICKY JOHNSON vs. XANDER FAMULARO
A great opening match for Trauma with the son of Gib and one of the most promising young talents in NCW taking on Ricky Johnson the most decorated wrestler in NCW history, possibly. A great win for Xander here who has been on a consistent roll lately with a string of victories.
BOB POOLER & ALYSSON GARDNER vs. ROXXXIE & KLB
Certainly this was an interesting match, Roxxxie and KLB worked well together as a team in their limited time together, but thanks to a little trickery on the part of Pooler his team was able to pick up the DQ victory. I have to wonder though, how is Spike Kane going to react to Pooler using his girlfriend as booby (heehee) trap for Bates' fist.
BURNING MAN & KATHY CONWAY vs. BWA & MERCEDES VARGAS
A very promising match that went back and forth until the very second that Burning Man said “screw it” and bailed on their partner. BWA picked up the win and after the match, they smacked around Vargas for good measure. This fresh new Starlets tag team division is starting to look pretty impressive.
-COLLISION-
CRYSTAL HILTON vs. SHELLY TAYLOR-JONES
Shelly was definetly the hottest Starlet on the roster with her impressive winning streak heading into this match, but all good things come to an end. Crystal said she was going to give it her all to break that streak and she did just that with an impressive victory, but she got a little help with the support of her best friend Zelda.
PHREAK vs. NATHAN WEBB
A match that I really expected to be better contested than it was. I thought Phreak would have pushed Webb to the limits but really in the end it was Nathan Webb who just dismantled Phreak and really was never in much trouble of losing the match. Now with the rumors that Phreak has been suspended due to substance abuse against our Wellness policy, it seems Phreak may have lost more than some pride in this match.
JOE EVERYMAN vs. DDK
A very good match between these two. There had been a lot of recent history between these two men spanning EverySense's pursuit of Knitely Bangs and the tag team title and Joe Everyman showed again how he's so close to being great but constantly falls short of his goals. DDK is a former World Champion, great match, just wish Joe would have put it together and pulled out this victory. Not because I dislike DDK, but because it'd be good to see Joe Everyman take that next step.
SIMON DAYE & FALCON vs. JAMES WOLFE & JASON BLAIR
Bird Daye picks up another victory and doesn't miss a beat taking on Jimmy Zane and Jason Blair. Blair made a return to NCW and proved that he's still got the talent to go far in this company while Jimmy Zane proved that despite his name change, he's still Jimmy Zane and he still isn't as good as Falcon and likely never will be, ha ha, poor jackass.
JONAS POTTER vs. ROBERTO VERONA
The good doctor had been amazing in his short time in NCW so far and was riding a lot of momentum into this match. Many wondered if he'd be able to stand up to an NCW champion like Verona, many wondered if his winning was just the product of his opponents and well.. no it wasn't because he pushed Verona to the limits in a fantastic match.
ALEX JONES & ANDREW JACOBSEN vs. LEX SENSE & TODD WILLIAMS
Well as I believe everybody predicted there was no single flipping way that Alex Jones and Andrew Jacobsen were going to last as a team and it ended up costing them the match. You gotta have respect for Lex Sense and Todd Williams who knew how to just enough as a team to win a match, they put their priorities straight... wait until the match is over to beat the hell out of each other.
ROB DIAMOND vs. STEVE AWESOME
So what are Rob and Steve up to? A “see what I can do” challenge? Steve gets a little helping hand from Crystal to beat Rob this past week so in the rematch Rob wanted he uses his good friend Brass Knuckles to gain an advantage? This fight between Infamous is picking up perfectly just in time for a one on one battle at Picture Perfect.
-BEST MATCH-
Rob Diamond vs. Steve Awesome: It really makes you wonder, can these two fight each other fair and square? I'm on the fence of saying “no.” Despite that however, this was still the best match of the night with all the drama surrounding it and the finish with Steve Awesome still fighting with all he could muster in preventing that pin.
-WORST MATCH-
Phreak vs. Nathan Webb: Not because of what either man did I don't guess, but more of the fact I was expecting this match to be better than what it was, I thought it would be back and forth exciting action when it was really just a decent match where Webb showed that he's going to be a very good wrestler in the future of this company.
-HIGH POINTS-
It was great seeing Angel lay down the law with Lex Sense and seeing him take charge like a great General Manager would. Now we have Angel coming back to put a little respect into the Young Guns with his fists.
Seeing Zelda on the show to bring some support to her best friend was a great sight. You can tell she still loves this company, it was her first every chance at stardom.
-LOW POINTS-
Well speaking of Zelda, it was disgusting seeing what my dad did to her. She was here showing her support of the company and that she was still willing to be a part of NCW and he had to go and kick her out... I'm beginning to think he's not even trying to get her to sign for some reason.
Brad Kane... just haven't him there was a low point for Collision, enough said.
-THE FAB FIVE-
5. ROBERTO VERONA: Well it was a tough opponent who Verona had up against him but it didn't stop him from proving once again why he's the current X Champion. He brought a fight to Potter and gave him a free lesson that he better not forget any time soon.
4. RAYNE: It might have been due to the fact that Burning Man ditched her, but the way the match was going she really didn't need that assist when she pinned one half of the Tag Team champions in the big Trauma main event and won the match for her team.
3. ROB DIAMOND: Was a little unfair with the help of brass knuckles, but like I said last week when I wrote about Steve, a win over such a talented wrestler is great no matter how they come.
2. CRYSTAL HILTON: Beating somebody who is undefeated in your division is always going to get you high marks and it's no exception with Hilton here. She seemed to doubt herself going into the match but with her best friend giving her a pep talk she found a way to win this and end Jones' streak.
1. TODD WILLIAMS: Todd has been doing his best magician act lately by making himself disappear, so much so that his Flashbang team mates had even started to wonder what had gotten into him, but he came back with a vengeance this week and picked up a huge victory in that tag team match.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 10-2
OVERALL RECORD: 233-75
YES! There we go, back to ten correct predictions and back on track with a great showing of only missing two matches. I shouldn't have doubted Crystal Hilton and I shouldn't have put my faith in Joe Everyman since that always seems to back fire on me, but other then that I did great. Now this week we have some great matches, so it's going to be hard to pick some, but as I always do I will push on and I will do my best for you fans.
-TRAUMA-
Caleb Lockwood vs Joe Everyman vs Curtis Kanyon
This should be a nice little contest to open up the week. Joe Everyman had DDK last week, but this week he has Curtis Kanyon who is so vastly different it hurts.. yeah right. Caleb Lockwood is also in this match but he's not worth mentioning.
Winner: Joe Everyman
The Lockes vs. KLB and TBP
A few weeks ago I would have said this match was going to be a run away victory for Pool Bates but as it turned out they aren't seeing eye to eye lately over this Honor championship so facing off against a real team like the Lockes, united brothers, might not bode well for them.
Winner: The Lockes
Crystal Hilton vs. Trish Newborn
Well I doubted her last week and she came out and had the best match of her NCW year with a great win over Shelly Taylor-Jones and she did beat Trish Newborn the last time they faced one on one so I'm going back and throwing my support behind Hilton, who better not let me down.
Winner: Crystal Hilton
D.D.K. vs. ACE
A match between two former World champions for the Trauma main event? Well this can only mean good things for the week I tell you. It should be a great match between these two but I wonder if wrestling twice (even if he doesn't realize it) will have any effect on DDK?
Winner: The Ace – CAN'T MISS MATCH
-COLLISION WEB SHOW-
Shelly Taylor-Jones vs. Mandi Matthews
Winner: Shelly Taylor-Jones
Jade Cortez vs. Emma Danielson vs. Sadie Sanderson
Winner: Jade Cortez
Freakke vs. Jackhammer vs. Christian Schweizer vs. Jason Blair
Winner: Jason Blair
-COLLISION-
Burning Man vs. Kathleen Conway and Mercedes Vargas vs. S.E.X. vs. B.W.A.
Another week and another week of Burning Man/ BWA/ Vargway action, but this week we get it to open up Collision with a match that should really get the crowd on their feet. This is going to be a tough one to judge especially since SEX could easily sneak in for a victory and throw their names into the tag team title hunt.
Jason Evans vs. Spike Kane
Sexy Jason and Spike aren't strangers to one another, and this match should certainly showcase that. Clearly Evans is the underdog here with Spike being a former champion and Hall of Famer but I think Jason Evans is going to push him to his limit, especially with Spike freshly out of rehab, it won't be enough, but it'll be impressive.
Winner: Spike Kane
Roberto Verona vs. Falcon
Certainly a huge match and no doubt about it, it is going to rock Collision. Verona is one of the best rising stars in NCW, hence why he was chosen for the Guns to begin with, but Falcon has a history of taking rising stars and crushing their hopes.
Winner: Roberto Verona – UPSET OF THE WEEK
The Young Guns vs. Flashbang
The tag team titles are going to be on the line when Trent Helms, a former two time champion, and Todd Williams take on Jimmy Zane (also a two time champion) and Lex Sense. It's going to be a fantastic match, one that will clearly be the hightlight of the night. Jimmy Zane looks to do better in this defense than he did the last time while Flashbang looks to take some belts away from the Guns.
Winners: Trent Helms and Todd Williams – CAN'T MISS MATCH
Brad Kane vs. Ricky Johnson
They aren't any strangers to each other inside the ring, and they aren't strangers to the minds of NCW fans as they've been two NCW faces for a long time now. Should be a great match, one where I hope Brad Kane breaks a leg... literally.
Winner: Brad Kane
Xander Famularo vs. Nathan Webb vs. Simon Daye vs. Jonas Potter
A shot for Roberto Verona's X Championship is on the line here and all four of these men are very deserving of the honor as they've all impressed NCW management latley. With that said... Xander has the most reason to want that match, because it's not only a chance at the X Championship but also a chance at getting at the Guns.
Winner: Xander Famularo
InFamous vs. Alex Jones and Andrew Jacobsen
Wow, Alex Jones and Jacobsen couldn't survive last week when pitted with each other on the same team, so what happens now? They get the most dysfunctional team in NCW today as their opponents and try it again. This could be the battle to see who can screw over their partners the least.
Winners: Infamous
KNITELINE
Yancy Franklin; Bangor, Maine
Are the rumors true? Is Seth Evans really coming back to NCW!?
Kelly: That's the word backstage. He's signed a fancy new contract to make his return.
Hector Johnson; Warren, Kentucky
What do you think of the big four year anniversary show coming up? Is there going to be any complications with the show being so close to a pay per view. Tired wrestlers? Tired staff? Maybe perchance you're not going to put that much effort into this year's show because of Picture Perfect?
Kelly: There is a fear that wrestlers will be suffering fatigue and that our crew may not be up to two big shows like that back to back but we're going to do everything we can to make this year's show just as great as the last.
Tucker Ross; Jacksonville, Oregon
NCW is turning four years old soon, did you in your wildest dreams ever think that NCW was going to last this long?
Kelly: I have to be honest, it was really hard to see when my father first started this company and especially after NCW's rocky start I thought we were doomed but it turned out that we had some great members and some great staff and in the end this company has far surpassed my wildest dreams.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
So Megan Kane is back with Brad huh? Well it certainly didn't take that bimbo to go crawling back to him I see... I guess now we get all the wit and intelligence a woman of her nature can muster, with that of course I mean small penis jokes and possibly some “deep cavern” retorts in my direction. Wonderful.
I can't stress enough how furious I am at my father for what he did to Zelda Knite, that is simply no way you treat somebody who you are negotiating with, she was there to show she still wanted to be a part of this company and you kick her out on her ass? Really? Shame on you pops.
You know what's cute? Andrew Jacobsen trying to threaten me. Please kid, what are you going to do? Roll over and cry because Zelda wouldn't sleep with you in my general direction, hoping that the overwhelming pity for you would prevent me from beating the **** out of you? Come on kid, lets not be stupid here.
So is the only thing Lex Sense can think of to try and get revenge is burning a very rich man's car? I believe it's nothing more than a bit of annoyance on Angel's part after the long career he's had.
Well fans that's all I have for this week and I as always hope you really enjoyed the column and shows. We've got some more great action planned for this week and some matches and events that you will not want to miss. Tune in and until next time...
