{Alex Jones has Angel up but with a sudden burst of energy Angel rams a knee into Alex's gut then gets behind him and picks him up for a BACKDROP DRIVER OFF THE PLAT FORM AND THROUGH THE BARBED WIRE COVERED FLAMING TABLE IN THE RING!!! "SAVIOR X! SAVIOR X!" "THAT WAS AWESOME! *CLAP*CLAP*CLAPCLAPCLAP!* "NC DUB!" Both men lay in whats left of the flaming rubble as their bodies put out most of the flames.}
Lex Sense: That night was near and dear to my heart. You can't begin to imagine how much that match lit a fire under my ass. It was that day that I realized exactly where I wanted to go and what I was willing to do to achieve my dreams in this business. You were a different man then. Hell, I was a different man but the fact remained that you were undeniably the whole reason I came to nCw in the first place.
I never wanted it to be this way.... You made it this way.
One year ago...
{The room is a padded cell. A man sits on the floor in the middle of it with his arms restrained in a straight jacket. He stares blankly at the white walls as if he were staring out a window. Seemingly hopeful that there's something better on the other side but accepting the fact that he may never see it. Everything in this room has been removed except for an old black and white t.v. that suddenly comes on as though this room were haunted. A voice over a staticy intercom covers the room in echoes.}
Voice: It's fight night! Enjoy your couple hours of freedom retard.
{Suddenly, sounds of pyro and technics could be heard as last year's Picture Perfect takes off in full swing. Eric and Willy's awesome commentating takes place as the eyes from this crazed giant slowly move from the walls to the t.v.. The first match begins but that doesn't matter as instead we hear Lex Sense in narration mode over this lovely scene.}
Lex Sense: I spent my whole life in and out of mental institutions. There is no way for me to forget the countless hours of shock treatments, beatings, druggings, all in the name of "mental stability". It was nothing new to me. I had given up any hope of exorcising my demons and had given into the fact that society thought I did not have a place in their world. I didn't mind dying without putting up a fight.
That is until until you showed me differently.
Metamorphosis, 1/11/09 was the day you came into my life. Oddly enough it was against my partner of today, Jimmy Zane. You were fairly green then, or at least I think you were, either way you lost that night but that didn't matter to me because in you I saw a spirit that rivaled no other. Years earlier I wrestled in a small federation across the seas and even became their champion, which resulted in me being locked away in Menston but that's a story for another day. That other promotion I was in meant nothing compared to what I saw that night. That other promotion paled in comparison to nCw and to be quite honest I was hooked.
I was addicted to Angel.
{The man in the middle of the padded room is now showing hints of emotion as he watches his favorite wrestling promotion as though he were a 10 year old kid. This is where you notice that the scene on screen is moving faster for some reason. Maybe to fast forward to when it matters.}
Lex Sense: I followed your career after that and it was a glorious rise indeed. Exceptional even. Inspirational.... but I wont bore you with the details of your own rise to stardom. I will say simply this, it motivated me enough to clear away the voices in my head and make my way to the states to join nCw in hopes of one day joining your cause. That deciding moment happened last year at the exact same event I now face you in.
In a match that many claim you designed.
{The speeding scene comes back to normal as the beginning of last year's Death Cell match can be clearly heard. The man's shattered face suddenly brightens up with a smile we are all too familiar with now. If it wasn't clear before then it's certainly clear now that this young man is the man you know as Sense. Broken, beaten and tied down and not nearly as intimidating as he's become but this particular match seemed to put a glimmer in his eye.}
Lex Sense: I watched Alex Jones and you light that night on fire. Spilling your blood and guts all in the name of glory. I got swept up in the moment and the stars aligned as it gave away to my future. For two years I watched nCw and it's parade of morons that run it. For two years I watched nCw and saw how undeserving some of the rats that came to this place were. For two years I watched nCw and thought to myself... why am I still locked away and tormented by the nurses and doctors of Menston while imbecilic fools run around this ring like chickens with their heads cut off. More importantly, for two years I watched Angel at Picture Perfect win every Death Cell match to date. And for two years I thought to myself, I could beat him in his own match.
There was a point in my f*cked up life where I wanted to be you, Angel. Now, I just want beat you and bathe in your blood.
{Angel looks around as the cage is raised. He slides from the ring and grabs a steel chair as he gets back in the ring AJ starts to beg Angel off}
Eric Hardy: “Don’t do it Angel...don’t do it!”
Willy Carter: “DO IT MAN..THINK OF HAYLEIGH”
{As Angel lifts up the chair he notices Hayleigh and Shelly walking down the entranceway. Angel stops and watches as Hayleigh runs into the ring. She stands in front of Angel, Angel drops to his knees and opens his arms.}
Eric Hardy: “Look at Angel..almost pleading for his daughter to hug him”
{Hayleigh comes forward and hugs her father, the crowd erupts. Angel gets to his feet and leads Hayleigh from the ring, as she climbs out. AJ comes out of nowhere with the chair hitting Angel across the back! Shelly scoops Hayleigh up and takes her out of there as AJ keeps hitting Angel over and over with the chair.}
Lex Sense: That night I saw a weakness in you that I hadn't seen before. I admired you and even idolized you but in that fleeting moment you became... human to me. You lost that supervillainlike quality that pleased me week in and week out and you showed me that you are nothing more than a sheep just like the tired masses that tune in every week to watch this show. You made me realize that I was a sheep for enjoying watching you do something that I could do better. You forced me to see that I needed to break out of these chains that bind me and step through these doors and show the world a darker version of you. A better version of you. That newer version is me.
And Tara has a right to be concerned because your future is looking bleak.
{Back in the padded cell, a look of disgust is splashed on Lex's face as he rips out of the straight jacket like his name was Hulk Hogan, you know, the real Hulkamania Hogan and not this Immortal one. He kicks the t.v. clear across the room and begins to rip the padding off the walls. He rushes the door and almost takes it off it's hinges. This guy is going nuts over watching Alex get the better of his hero. The door swings open and about ten men rush in. Lex is fighting them all off but the numbers are overwhelming, plus they have caddle prods and he's quickly restrained. As he falls into a deep slumber he smiles stating only one fact.}
Lex Sense: Angel, I'm coming.
{The scene comes to a screeching halt. Pausing on his demented smile. Focused on the smiling face of Sense, the background begins to fade away. Not into darkness mind you but as though it was withering away with time but moving at a rate that was faster than your feeble eyes could see.}
Today...
{Soon we find ourselves in current times and the same Lex Sense stands in the same worn down padded room. The walls are no longer white and the cell looks aged with time. The floor is covered in grime and the decaying stench fills up the nostrils. The broken t.v. set still lies in ruins covered in spiderwebs and dust. Lex himself looks better than he did even though he's covered his face in a hood and his smile is really the only thing visible.}
Lex Sense: I know you must think me for a fool. I heard your complimentary words sent my way and I was a bit flattered by what you had to say but let's not kid ourselves here, this match has the potential of ending yours or my career. You may be retired but we all know that violence is like riding a bike. You never really forget how to cause it. I expect the Angel I use to admire. In fact I demand it. You think of me as some dog taking orders and you fail to realize the only orders I follow are my own.
Trust me, I will do everything in my power to win.... for me.
I am not going to stand here and swear on my life that this match is mine but I will stand here and promise you that I will be the biggest challenge to your undefeated streak at Picture Perfect. This may be your match Angel but this is MY time. Yours came and went as your glorious rise ended in a pathetic downfall into retirement. This will be an absolute honor Angel but honor is going to be the furthest thing from my mind when I cripple your ass in that cage and send you back to Ms. Fenix in stitches.
This promo was made in hopes that you understand where I come from and how much you've disappointed me. More importantly, it was made for the understanding that you are the past and I am the future.
This isn't about my disgust of a group created for the sole purpose of halting our advancement. This isn't about a group I joined for my own personal reasons. This isn't about me following orders and this is sure as hell not about titles. This little beef that I have with you is about one thing and one thing only.
Angel, this is about how you failed me as a hero. How you failed as an idol.
Maybe I should think before I speak and be careful what I wish for but at least I'm not the fool that accepted the challenge.
And fools must bleed.
{Sense is done speaking as he nonchalantly kicks the t.v. on the floor. The door to the room squeaks open as a young lady peers over the edge to look in.}
Lady Die: Is it safe?
Lex Sense: Maybe.
Lady Die: Why are you in this old stinky room?
Lex Sense: Just reminiscing on better days.
Lady Die: Aah. Shouldn't you be training or something?
Lex Sense: I will. Just needed to get something off my chest. Do you remember our days spent in Menston?
Lady Die: Unfortunately. Even though I spend every day trying to forget.
Lex Sense: Why would you want to forget?
Lady Die: Unlike you I don't find inspiration in the darkest recesses of my past. You know this Angel guy is no pushover. He can get his hands dirty. A lot of people say that when you retire you lose that spark of intensity but when I look at the guy, I can still see it.
Lex Sense: ....
Lady Die: He's unlike anybody you've faced before. I really think you should concentrate on him more than spending your time in this old place. We should fly back to America and begin your training.
Lex Sense: HEHE... my dear girl, nothing can prepare you for this type of match. Those sounds of concern are unbefitting for someone such as you. I know all to well what Angel is capable of. In fact, I encourage it. Now let's go before it gets any later.
{They step out of the room and the door closes behind them. Once it's firmly shut, the t.v. turns on to static. Kinda creepy seeing as there's nobody in the room. The static gives way to a tragic scene.}
{Alex raises the chair up and brings it down across Angel’s throat, Angel rolls around holding it in obvious pain.}
{Fade to black.}
Lex Sense: That night was near and dear to my heart. You can't begin to imagine how much that match lit a fire under my ass.
