I'm back again NCW fans, that's right, I'm more consistent the decease riddled crotch of Steve Awesome, how great is it that you get to spend time with me and this column every week? Astonishing I know. Now lets not waste any more time talking about how great I am, lets get right to it shall we?
I guess the most “interesting” bit of news is that of DDK and Joe Everyman rekindling their friendship on Trauma, and Curtis Kanyon attacking Joe for it.... ugh. If this situation gets any weirder I'm going to call the nut house myself. This as put an interesting situation around Joe Everyman, as he literally doesn't know when or where he can trust DDK because Kanyon can always be there... oh how the crazy plot thickens.
Ok, I sorta lied when I called that the most interesting news of the week, sometimes I just like to throw Joe Everyman a bone and make him seem important so I inflate his stories. The real most interesting news of the week was clearly Zelda Knite, broadcasting from another company where she was defending her NCW World Starlets championship, which had my father fuming in disbeleif, a beautiful sight if I can be honest. I'm glad Zelda isn't going to allow herself to be bullied here in this situation, she has to stand by her guns and throw some weight behind her punches against my father, it's the only way he'll learn to respect her.
Other, less interesting news simply because, well I say it is would come with the Matthews siblings, where Mandi finds herself in the middle of this crusade against the Starlets started by BWA, and with Jayson who seems to be the focus of Hexx and Mimic... what a poor fate Jayson has found himself in, gotta feel sorry for the guy. Mandi gets a chance to shut up BWA by teaming with NCW's current hot topic Starlet Shelly Taylor-Jones, while Jayson... gets felt up by Hexx. Did I say what a poor man Jayson Matthews is right now yet?
Well fans we got Picture Perfect this week and it's clearly looking to be a huge show right before the Four Year Anniversary Collision, I swear these next two weeks are going to be nothing but nonstop action, you better sit back and enjoy the ride. Last week's poll directly concerned these two weeks, and in a kinda surprising, but not really, situation the 4 year show came out ahead, and to everybody who voted for it... well all I can say is, I hope you enjoy the matches we got lined up for it.
RECAP AND REVIEW
TRAUMA
CALEB LOCKWOOD vs. JOE EVERYMAN vs. CURTIS KANYON
A very good match and finally a good win for Joe Everyman, it's been a long time since I could say I've seen one of those. However, it looks like this may have started a fight with Curtis Kanyon that he isn't ready finish.
THE LOCKES vs. KLB and BOB POOLER
I think more people would have been surprised if Pooler and KLB would have worked as a team, than not. Those two have built up a huge animosity against each other the past couple of weeks and it's really showing. Despite this, it was still a great win for the Lockes, a team that is clearly on the rise through the NCW ranks.
CRYSTAL HILTON vs. TRISH NEWBORN
I love seeing Trish Newborn getting the **** kicked out of her, and this match was no different. Crystal Hilton picked up a huge win, but she might have paid a bigger price with Shelly Taylor-Jones attacking her afterwards. I for one am looking forward to those two going at it again, forget Trish Newborn, who sucks ass by the way.
Worst Match: Because Trish Newborn was in it. God she sucks.
DDK vs. THE ACE
What a match this was, I think this was a match all NCW fans were looking forward to with two former World champions and two people who will likely wind up in the NCW Hall of Fame one day. It was back and forth, but with the distractions of his bastard alter ego, and the skill of Ace, it was Ace who won, but Curtis Kanyon made his presence known after the match when he attacked both DDK and Joe Everyman.
COLLISION
BURNING MAN vs. BWA vs. SEX vs. CONWAY & VARGAS
What a match this was, possibly one of the best of the week between these four teams in this back and forth contest that I really had no clue who was going to win until the very end. Every team really gave it their all which what made it so awesome, but in the end there can only be one winner and BWA totally kicked some ass... again. They're getting good at that.
JASON EVANS vs. SPIKE KANE
Wow, I really didn't realize how good Sexy Jason has become, he's really upped his game recently. He put up a hell of a fight against Spike Kane, took the Hall of Famer straight to the wire here on Collision. In the end Spike Kane prevailed, but it wasn't an easy win for him. I'd expect to see Jason back in the title picture very soon, and I'd maybe... just maybe we'll see Spike back in the main event? Lets cross our fingers.
ROBERTO VERONA vs. FALCON
Oh wow, what an upset. That's all I can say about this, did you see Verona, that was... wow. This Verona is going to be a great star here in NCW for hopefully years to come. He just needs to make sure he doesn't get too big of a bloated head, he's got Xander this week and that might just be an even harder match.
THE YOUNG GUNS vs. FLASHBANG
Well... we got to see some vintage Trent Helms in this match, he refused to give up, he refused to stop fighting, and he refused to give the match up. In the end it looks like he might have done some serious harm to his back, but he gave it his all. The Guns retained those belts, but they got the match of their lives.
BRAD KANE vs. RICKY JOHNSON
I hate seeing Brad Kane win any match, and this is no different.... but gotta give the dick credit where it's due and he put up a great fight and walked away with a victory and that's really all I have to say about him... other than he's a jackass, and I hope Adam breaks his neck on Picture Perfect.
XANDER FAMULARO vs. SIMON DAYE vs. NATHAN WEBB vs. JONAS POTTER
I simply loved this match. You could feel how much every single one of these people wanted this match, you could feel just how much they wanted to win. Xander however probably wanted it the most, to get his shot at the Young Guns, but he's told me personally that he's a little annoyed that Phreak stuck his nose into this match with his brutal attack on Nathan Webb, he never wants to win a match that way.
Best Match: Four of NCW's top young talent inside the ring all trying to gain one title shot, it was just fantastic from beginning to end.
INFAMOUS vs. ANDREW JACOBSEN & ALEX JONES
Well.. we can certainly see who works better as a team going into their separate National and World title shots. I gotta say it was pretty entertaining to see Jacobsen in that submission for like five minutes, and this is the little **** who thinks he's good enough to threaten me? Alex Jones stands there and laughs at him, The Guns try to help but get ran away by Flashbang, it was a great match and I big win for Infamous before they go at each other in that 3 stages of hell match.
THE FAB FIVE
5. CRYSTAL HILTON: Well it was a good match for Crystal, she kicked the crap out of that moron Trish Newborn and whenever that happens the person almost always gets put on this list just because it's so much fun to watch. Keep it up Hilton.
4. STEVE AWESOME: Steve showed Jacobsen who his daddy was once again. Would have been funner if Steve would have brought out the good old hickory switch to teach little old Jacobsen a lesson, but this worked just as well.
3. THE LOCKES: Even with their opponents not really working as a team it was still a great win for them. These two guns for hire, will be making a lot of noise in NCW soon, I promise you that. This victory against wrestlers like Pooler and KLB is going to do their careers here a lot of good.
2. XANDER FAMULARO: I said about it was my favorite match of the night that he won, but I think it was just a case of Xander really bringing his game up to another level because he saw something he wanted and gunned for it, nothing would stop him.
1. ROBERTO VERONA: Getting a win over an NCW Hall of Famer is not an easy task, it never is and Roberto not only took on a Hall of Famer but he took on the person with the winningest record in NCW. Fantastic win, it was a huge victory for a man who has been tearing it up recently, and is quickly rising the ranks.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
It's going to be a fantastic pay per view this week fans, I don't know how much I can stress that, there are so many matches with so many stories and emotions behind them that from every level I think it's going to be one of NCW's best pay per views ever.
This week because when have three matches that feature the same two opponents I'm going to do it a little differently. I'm just going to pick a winner of the third match, because well.. I just don't think there is any way one of these guys is going to go up 2-0 against the other and sweep it. A lot of hard choice line this card, but I won't back away from a challenge.
LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 12-2
OVERALL RECORD: 245-77
Do you see that!? Twelve and two? Nobody can stop me when it comes to predictions and now I'm way up in the correct side of the predictions. Like I said, this week is going to be A LOT touger, but it's nothing that I can't handle. Just wait and see.
//WIRED//
Seth Evans vs. Jonas Potter
Demetrious Young vs. Jason Evans
Trish Newborn vs. Mercedes Vargas
The Lockes vs. Falcon and Ricky Johnson
The Ace vs. Spike Kane
//PICTURE PERFECT//
Curtis Kanyon vs. Joe Everyman
This is going to be an interesting match, there is no denying that, espcially since Joe Everyman is now good friends with DDK again, and of course... Kanyon and DDK are the same person... shut up, they are. It's going to be a close one, and I know Joe Everyman would love nothing more than a win over Curtis here.. so...
Winner: Curtis Kanyon
Nathan Webb vs. Phreak
Phreak beat the hell out of Nathan Webb and quite possibly cost him a chance at the X Championship, something that I'm sure isn't setting well with Nathan Webb, all just because he beat Phreak a few weeks ago. I think if Webb isn't too beat up from the attack, he'll be too determined to lose this match and get some pay back.
Winner: Nathan Webb
James Wolfe vs. Todd Williams
This is a chance for Todd Williams to get some revenge over the loss last week when The Young Guns retained the tag team belts. This however is going to be a bit of a tougher task for Jimmy Zane because Todd becomes a different beast when it's one on one.
Winner: Todd Williams
Xander Famularo vs. Roberto Verona
This is the match Xander has been calling for since he first joined Flashbang in this fight against the guns. Xander went through four men to get here, but Verona is flying high after his win over Falcon, so it's going to be a lot of momentum crashing together in this match. It's tough, but I think we'll have our first two time X Champion.
Winner: Xander Famularo
Angel vs. Lex Sense
There is a definitive advantage in Angel's favor in this match, he's been in so many of these Death Cage matches he's practically a pro at just wrestling those matches. However, Lex Sense is a huge monster of a man who is totally capable of dismantling anybody he steps into the ring with, especially in a match such as this.
Winner: Lex Sense – Upset of the Week
BWA vs. Mandi and Shelly Taylor-Jones
I don't know what to think of this match... I love the tag team of Ayla and Rayne, but I relaly don't agree with their “Starlet” hunter mentality, it's not like it's being used in a derogatory way. I want to side with Shelly and Mandi here because of it, but I have a hard time believing they'll pull this one out.
Winners: BWA
KLB vs. Bob Pooler
Well, this in my opinion is going to be the closest match of the entire show, these two men are so close in skills and talent that it's just going to be so hard to tell who's going to win until that bell finally rings. Pooler has been using some cheap tricks against KLB but in an Honor scenario that isn't going to work very well, but this is his chance to prove that he belongs in NCW.
Winner: Bob Pooler
Alex Jones* vs. Andrew Jacobsen
They're getting back to their roots with this match, they're going to bring in just about everybody's favorite match, the Assault X. Jacobsen and Jones have a ton of history against one another now and this very well could be Andrew's last chance at Jones, so he has to make it count. In the end it's going to come down to who wants it more, who is more desperate for the win...
Winner: Andrew Jacobsen
Brad Kane vs. Adam Knite
Adam is going to kill that mother****er.
Winner: Adam Knite
Rob Diamond* vs. Steve Awesome
It all comes down to this, they'll have wrestled two matches already by now, one man will have already tapped out to the other, and the World championship will be the end result of enduring this challenge. Steve has been chasing this moment for over a year now... he wants this belt more than words can describe, hell he even tried to marry the title belt, that should tell you just how far Steve is willing to go here...
Winner: Steve Awesome
KNITELINE
Preacher Stevens, Sacramento, California
Hey there sexy. My name's Jason and I've been watching you and reading your column since you first appeared on the scene. Can I just tell you that you are definitely a M.I.L.F. in my book. Top notch hottie. Besides that I have two questions for you, the first one is quite simple, out of all the matches on the Picture Perfect card which one do you think has the ability to bring the roof down?
Kelly - I think Adam and Brad Kane have the potential to really tear the place down, a lot of emotions behind that match.
I for one think that the yearly Death Cell is going to be the bombdiggity and I am going to have my sweet ass DVR ready to record some of the insanity Angel and Sense are going to throw out there. Which leads me to the second question, who in their right mind would ever want to take on Angel in a match that he made famous?
Kelly - Nobody in their RIGHT mind would.
Tom Jerry, Atlanta, Georgia
Ya know I've been keepin' an eye on them there B.W.A. and I was thinkin' to meself how extraordinary them young gurls were. It's going to take a whole lot fer any of them "starlets" to stand a chance but I must say, damn that girl Mandi has a set on her! Do you think fer one second that them lil purty gurls gunna stop Bitches with Attitude?
Kelly - No, not really, but Shelly has been on a roll lately so who knows.
Fred Flintstone; Bedrock PA
Dear Kelly, There's been alot of talk about Alex Jones recently. Especially him being "the most talented guy to never hold the NCW title". I personally think he's a showboating arrogant jerk. But I have to ask why do people have a high opinion of him and who would your dream match be for Alex?
Kelly - Because he's one of the most talented guys on the roster and I think a match between he and Falcon, possibly a match in some crazy ass creation that Falcon would come up with would be awesome.
Keith Nache; Carbon Cliff, IL
Hey Kelly, so what do you think of JackHammer returning to the NCW, do you think he will succed?
Kelly - Always great to have a former champion back, and he certainly could, seeing as how he's a former National champion.
Stephanie Sanderson, San Diego California
I Just want to ask you this simple question, what is your reaction going to be when my brother in law Brad destroys Adam in the Boston Massacre match?
Kelly - Don't you have another match to lose to Zelda somewhere?
Cody, Tampa, Florida
Looking at Phreak and hearing about his sadistic past and seeing what he did to Nathan this past Sunday I do have to ask, is this the type of person you want representing New Championship Wrestling.
Kelly - No he is not.
Gavin, Long Island
Hey Kelly! I love your show! I wanted to ask for your opinion on Xander Famularo's match with Roberto Verona this weeked. Xander put away three talented young competitors to earn his shot and has had an impressive year, how do you see this match going?
Kelly - It's going to be close as hell. Roberto has proven he's a great champion already, but so has Xander in his run with the title earlier, and by him by NCW's Gladiator. It's going to be back and forth from the opening bell, but I think Xander will pull it out.
Henry, Los Angeles
Hi Kelly. I wanted to ask you a question about the World Title match at Picture Perfect. Do you think that pacing the three rounds out over the night will actually be more beneficial to both men, considering it will allow them to rest those aching limbs between bouts? Also, do you think this is the time Steve Awesome will finally reclaim the belt he has craved for so long?
Kelly - I think it'll definetly help them, especially before the big Cell match, they really could use a rest before that. I don't know how can anybody stop Steve this time, he's had so many chances.
Alex, Dallas
Kelly, I have a question about the whole card overall this weekend. Up and down the entire night there are some truly brutal matches which will no doubt make up most of the companies highlight reel for the year. Considering the potential of this PPV, would you say this could be the best show of the year?
Kelly - I think it very well could be, been saying it all week and even earlier in this column.
David - Little Rock, Arkansas
Word around the water cooler has been that Jimmy Zane/James Wolfe had submitted his letter of resignation this week to NCW Owner Leonard Fox, but Mr Fox declined to accept it. What would be the impact on NCW as a whole if Zane were to hang it up and walk away from NCW for the umpteenth time?
Kelly - Who would care?
Heath - New York, New York
I am a huge fan of Dr Jonas Potter! He used to train in a gym not far from my house. He is a great guy, and he has been ever so close in a few high profile matches. What do you think his future holds with NCW?
Kelly - The sky is the limit for this guy, got a ton of potential.
CLOSING NOTES
Did anybody else see Mike Machado's stace this past week? I think it's become even more magnificent, the rest of NCW better watch out because this mighty stace is gunning for them.
Did I mention that I loved watching Andrew Jacobsen screaming out in pain for a whole five minutes? I got some popcorn from a guy in the crowd and just sat back and enjoyed the show. I could do that every night of the week, I really could.
So in case you were wondering.... Zelda did win her match in ##CENSORED## so we don't have any kind of inter promotional situation on our hands.
I'm really thinking the Lockes are going to be a huge tag team for a while to come here in NCW. There are some plans in the works to get them more TV time after their impressive win on Trauma this past week.
Tomorrow is the official four year birthday of NCW, it was on that day my father opened the doors and we've not looked back sense. I just want to say like last year that this wouldn't have been possibly without all you great fans who put your hearts into this company just as we do. It's been a true honor bringing you all the exciting NCW action for so long.
Until next time...
Kelly Knite
