NCW fans, if you missed Picture Perfect, you missed on hell of a show, and when I say one hell of a show, I'm not kidding at all here fans, it was possibly the greatest show I've ever seen with my two eyes. From top to bottom everybody just rocked the arena to it's very foundation. Three matches to decide the world title, a Death Cage and some other great action just lined this card from top to bottom, and I urge you if you didn't catch it the first time around, order the reshowing on pay per view this week.
This pay per view was filled with everything a wrestling fan could ever want. Great and intense matches with men who could really tell wanted to win their respective matches, to go along with some great stories and just an overall amazing feel of excitement. Seeing Angel back in action, watching Chris Gardner return in defense of one of his good friends, watching two good friends ripping each other to shreds for the single purpose of wanting to be World champion, it was just stunning from beginning to end.
Now we move on fans and we this week are celebrating the four year anniversary of Collision. It's been a wild wide for all of us, and I'm proud to say I was here day one to witness this place grow from it's humble beginnings to the huge success that it is today. I'm also so happy that many of you have stuck behind us since we opened our doors and this week is in honor of you and all your long lasting support. Thank you NCWites, you are the best fans this world has to offer and we hope to show you our appreciation with some great matches. The X-Division championship returns for one night only, Trent Helms wrestles his last match in NCW, Xavier Williams returns and a classic feud between Adam Knite and Gib is rekindled.
All of that will make for a great show already, but on top of that I'd like to take a special moment here to welcome Angel into NCW's Hall of Fame. A two time world champion, three time X-Division champion and a two time tag team champion, Angel is one of the very best NCW has ever seen and it's been fun watching him work over these years.
Last week's was a good poll for the Viewer's choice show, and a great match came out on top, you all want to see a ladder match? Well we're going to bring you one. This week we're going with the classic, what match did you think was the best from Picture Perfect?
RECAP AND REVIEW
JOE EVERYMAN vs. CURTIS KANYON
A good match that was made even better due to the fact I think it was possibly Joe Everyman’s first win on an NCW pay per view for over a year. That’s a terrible streak to have lingering over your head and I’m glad to see it broken. Well, not that glad. It was also a big victory over his friend’s arch enemy that happens to also be his friend. Still confusing.
NATHAN WEBB vs. PHREAK
This was certainly one of the more interesting situations, Phreak’s unwillingness to accept the fact that he lost a match to Nathan Webb leads to this match were we got to see Nathan Webb take a dive from the jumbo tron to put Phreak away, in a match that catered specifically to Phreak’s skill set. Good match, nice way to get the crowd going early.
JIMMY ZANE vs. TODD WILLIAMS
It was a good battle between two of the infantry in this Flashbang versus The Young Guns battle and it was a quick back and forth affair that saw the return of Chris Gardner when the Young Guns decided they were going to try and BS a win and a post match attack.
XANDER FAMULARO vs. ROBERTO VERONA
This was a match that Xander was calling for, for a couple of months now it seems, and he finally earned his shot. The match was fantastic and really you could see just how much effort both men were putting into this match, and exactly how much Xander wanted that title. Famularo became the first two time X Champion and picked up the first win from Flashbang on the night, and took a title away from the guns.
ANGEL vs. LEX SENSE
A brutal match, a brutal cage, and two men who were at each other throats all month. There was so much animosity in this match I really feared for both men’s well beings. It was back and forth as both men tried to viciously destroy his opponent and keep them down. It was clearly one of the best matches of the night, and a match that could propel Lex Sense to superstardom by defeating an NCW Hall of Famer in a match that made him famous.
BWA vs. TEAM STARLET
The match itself was decent. Nothing special or exciting, but what happened afterward when BWA were celebrating their victory is what made the match great. “ConGas” comes into the ring and finally takes an united stand against BWA. It was a good sight to see them standing up against this threat on their titles.
KLB vs. BOB POOLER
A very solid match, but I really expected more from Bob Pooler... I really thought he was going to give Bates all he could handle and more, but I guess I should never doubt KLB again. Bates showed me that I was a fool for picking against him, congrats on that KLB.
ALEX JONES vs. ANDREW JACOBSEN
Just like Alex Jones showed me I was an idiot for thinking Andrew Jacobsen was going to come close to beating him. These two “got back to their roots” and really had a great match where you had no idea who was going to pull out the victory. I said in my Knitelife last week that it was going to come down to who wanted it more, who was more desperate, and Alex Jones' leap of faith proved my point, I just picked the wrong guy.
ADAM KNITE vs. BRAD KANE
I'd love to rip on Brad and Megan here. I'd love to throw out a big fat “I told you so you jackass” but I really can't. Brad Kane, he's been a flaming douche bag for two months and I want to kill him with my bare hands for touching my child, but he finally showed some class there at the end. He could have attacked Adam's knee from the second that bell rang, but instead they had a grueling tough match and brought all they had to try and topple the other in one of the big stories of the night.
ROB DIAMOND vs. STEVE AWESOME
If I could put this entire feud between these two men and melt it down to one word... it would be SuperFreakingAwesomesauce. These two showed exactly what the chase to the world title is all about, showed what it takes to be a champion. These two men had three matches in one night, each one against each other and each match was more and more intense, until they met in the most vicious match of the night, until they fought inside that cell match, with one of the most amazing endings I've ever seen. Surprised to see those two both on this weeks card after that.
THE FAB FIVE
5. ADAM KNITE: He stepped into one of the most vicious matches ever devised by a human mind and took on a fellow former World Champion and the man who invented the match, the man who lives on the match, and won. Oh, did I mention he practically did it on one leg? That's my man.
4. NATHAN WEBB: Webb had to step into the ring with a guy who was looking for his blod and took on the challenge head on in a great match between the two. It looked like maybe the odds were stacked against him, but it turns out that he can hold his own in any situation.
3. XANDER FAMULARO: I've written a lot about how Xander was practically begging for this match for months, he really wanted his shot at Verona after Roberto took the belt from Todd Williams and kept him away from it. Xander stood up against one of the fastest rising NCW stars, beat him, and took his title.
2. LEX SENSE: Well, if you look at pretty much what I said about Adam and put it onto Lex Sense, you'd have just about the same situation. Fighting in a terribly intimidating match, wrestling an opponent famous for wrestling in the match and coming out on top. Lex Sense did it against the man who will be inducted into the hall of fame this weekend too.
1. STEVE AWESOME: Come on, do I really have to say anything else about this amazing match and the amazing effort both of these men showed? I do? Fine, Steve Awesome has fought for so long to live in this moment of being World Champion again. So many title shots, so many attempts and he's finally back on top, he's finally the Face of the Franchise again.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
This is going to be one intense week of action, one that is going to be for the sole purpose of celebrating four years of NCW action and honor all those fans who have put their love for this federation into this fed. I hope everybody enjoys this show and it's as good as it looks on paper.
LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 10-5
OVERALL RECORD: 255-82
Well I did pretty good this past week, but I still don't like those five predictions wrong, I hope to do better than that this week and I'd like to point out that over eight months I've averaged only about 10 wrong predictions a month. Come on, that's pretty good and you know it.
-TRAUMA-
Tara Fenix vs. Trish Newborn
Tara Fenix makes her NCW return and nobody cares. Trish Newborn is wrestling on Trauma and nobody cares... so why should I care about this match? Two decent wrestlers I guess.
Winner: Trish Newborn
Jason Blair vs. Andrew Jacobsen
This should be interesting. Andrew Jacobsen the current leader of the Young Guns taking on a former member who many feel let the group down, it's his chance to shut all of them up. The question is... can he?
Winner: Andrew Jacobsen
Phreak vs. Freakke
Phreak had a disappointing pay per view weekend and this week things aren't going to get any better because he's facing a former National champion and a wrestler who can really make his life hell all over again.
Winner: Freakke
Nathan Webb vs. Jimmy Zane
This is going to be a match that I'm really looking forward to, because both of these two are immensely talented and are still getting better and better every single day. This is going to be a great test for both men.
Winner: Jimmy Zane
The Internationals and The Lockes vs. JackHammer, Jason Evans, Ricky Johnson, and Lucas Young
Well this is nothing more than a big cluster of a match. One side however has two teams while the other is a hodgepodge of wrestlers. An interesting note is the history between JackHammer and Sexy Jason on the other team that could lead to some team animosity.
Winners: Internationals and the Lockes
-4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY COLLISION-
Singles Match
Spike Kane vs. Joe Everyman
It's a rematch from last year's anniversary show and a rematch from some old federation nobody gave a **** about's final show I believe was the story behind it. Last year's match was amazing, and I expect this years to be every better.
Winner: Spike Kane
Starlets' Riot Match
Megan Kane, Ayla St. James, Mercedes Vargas, Shelly Taylor-Jones, Josie Everyman, Alexis Morrison, Emma Danielson, Crystal Hilton, Alysson Gardner, Mandi Matthews, Ashlie Ember, Kathy Conway, Roxxxie, Stephanie Sanderson And Mercedes Lewis
For the first time ever, there will be an ALL Starlets Riot match to kick off the festivities for the big four year show. Almost every woman on the roster will be in this match, that will most surely be for something special, what? We have no idea yet. This is going to be a wild guess as anybody can win it.
Winner: Shelly Taylor-Jones
Tag Team Match
NAZI vs. MCM
NAZI are back and they are dead set on getting some more of MCM, it's going to be another epic match between these two teams that dates back to when NAZI first won a loser leaves town match against the Motor City Mafia... can MCM finally get that revenge?
Winners: NAZI
Singles Match
Trent Helms vs. Falcon
It's a dream match of legendary proportions. The two men who have overcome all the odds like none other will be going against each other in this match. It'll be the man who is out of this world, versus the man who is immortal, in a sure to be classic showdown.
Winner: Falcon
Tag Team Dream Match
The Smokin Aces vs. Dirty Deal
Two of NCW's most famous tag teams will square off in this "dream match." Dirty Deal one of the most controversial teams in NCW history will face The Smokin Aces one of NCW's most dysfunctional.
Winner: Smoking Aces
X-Division Throwback Assault X Match
Xavier Williams vs. Brad Kane vs. Angel vs. AJ Phoenix
The X-Division championship makes a one night comeback! That's right, four of NCW's best former X-Division champions will square off in an Assault X match for the right to be, for one night only, the X-Division champion.
Winner: Brad Kane (The first will be the last.)
Singles Match
Rob Diamond vs. Maniac
It's brother versus brother, finally Rob Diamond faces his brother in the match to escape his shadow. Can Rob finally conquer the stigma of being Chris Diamond's little brother that has always followed him, or will Chris show his little brother why he's still one of the best?
Winner: Rob Diamond
Singles Match
Adam Knite vs. Gib
Two best friends, and two bitter rivals square off in this year's main event. Many in NCW don't know the history, and the bloody, brutal, and devastating feuds that these two men have had over the years, but they will soon find out when Adam Knite takes on the father of his little sister; Gibford Famularo. It's "The Millenium Icon" vs. "The NCW KING" one night only.
Winner: Adam Knite
KNITELINE
Angry Black Man, Compton, Ca.
Yo Kelly Kel!
Check this! You need to make this right fo' me. How in the hell did Steve Awesome get a victory over Rob Diamond!?! That's some bulls*t! Robbie "Hood" D. is a stand in among the black communities and for "the man" to come all up in hurr and steal what rightfully belongs to the black nation is absurd. We as peoples suffered for years to get to where we at and for Steve to straight up diss the homie Robizzle to the Dizzle like that? Maaaaaaaaan! What are yo' thoughts on this white girl?
-KELLY: I think it was a great match and I think Steve just wanted it more. The two wound up in a position where either man could win or lose the match, and Steve did what he needed to win.
Patrick Goodwin; Houston, Texas
What are your thoughts about Tara Fenix returning to the ring? And who else would you like to see come back that was apart of the revolution of the division, and why?
-KELLY: Tara Fenix was a part of the revolution of the division? How so? By losing to Zelda time and time again? Tara Fenix is back, nice... but not special no matter how much she wants to think she is.
Graeme, Sheffield, UK
Kelly, with a weeks break, can we expect the fallout from Picture Perfect to be more intense with the guys having more time to mull over their next moves? I can't wait to see what Rob Diamond does in response to his defeat at the hands of Steve Awesome and where the next stage of the Young Gun/Flashbang war goes!
-KELLY: It's going to be great, if you like intense action and wild emotions you're going to love NCW in the upcoming weeks.
Ed, Rocester UK
Last week you guys had The Ace vs Spike on the webshow, which was aweseome because I couldnt afford the PPV but the fact we got to see some awesome promo's from both of them too was awesome.
Do you have any idea what is instore for these guys? Will you be putting high profile stars on the next web show for us to see for free?
-KELLY: Spike and Ace are always threats to wind up in the main event at the drop of a hat and they are always finding thmselves in the middle of interesting NCW stories. We always bring in the best stars and slot them where we have room, we love to bring the webshow viewers those stars too.
IN CLOSING
It's great to see Angel being inducted into the hall of fame, maybe somebody else is taking issues with that, but this is what the NCW members wanted to see. Look at all his title victories, look at him winning the first ever Riot match, look at how he is one of the winningest wrestlers in NCW history and it's a no brainer, so ****ing deal with it.
I'm glad to see Chris Gardner back, he's one of the future stares of NCW and it's good to have him here.
Again, I want to say... It was scary to think about where Adam was and him stepping into that ring, and having to watch him wrestle, but I'm glad things went well and once again... thank you Kane for a hard fought and fair match.
Well fans, it's been four years and I'm proud of this fed and I'm happy you're all here to see this day that I never thought I would. It's been amazing, and again... thank you.
Until next time...
