Hey all. I'm new here and already posted a new character, but in my haste to do so, I failed to realise I cannot access the main site, ncw.fateback.com/. I don't know why this is, as I get a 'connection reset' message from Firefox and a 'server busy' message from Safari (Mac user, boo hiss etc.). My connection sucks as is, and I'm worried it's just me. Is there anything anyone can do to help? |

Hmm...I have no idea my friend, it works fine for me.
Do you have a content filter or some such which could be blocking it?

Not sure but you could always try and download internet explorer if that don't work then try and see if there is a cookie filter thingamajig. There is one on pcs which can sometimes block you from logging in and seeing certain websites. On a side note there is also the possibility that if you have an anti virus or firewall that could be blocking the site if it consider it dangerous. Mine sometimes blocks certain sites until you turn it down and the it works.

Not that I know of...I'm not running any firewalls or sharing programs.
I can get onto fateback.com, just not ncw.fateback.com
Is there any way to ask the website admin if Safari is blocked?
EDIT: I'm looking at d/l'ing explorer as a final option.

I have this exact problem with IE when I use my girlfriends wireless connection down her house.
When I'm on my normal connection at home I can access the main site fine. It might be security blocking with your internet options.
Get IE and try it with that mate. Hope it all works out because I know how annoying it is not being able to access the main site.
Hmmm I wonder if other newcomers have decided to join but then tried getting on the main site, only to find they can't, and then not joined and moved elsewhere instead.

No, all links that I'm trying take me to the same error message (Firefox): The Connection was Reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Just so you know; I'm running no firewalls I'm running no blockers or virus programs I've enabled plug-ins, Java and Jascript and Accepting all Cookies I'm directly connected, no wireless Maybe it's something to with my Proxies? If none of this works, am I screwed? Edit: I'm running OS X, just so you know, and Microsoft refused to release a newer version of IE after IE5 |

Just remembered something you could try Camino whenever I had problems at college which was all macs then I went on there and more often than not it was fine. Other possibilities could be try the Ethernet cable see if thats in properly...long shot but hey. Another possibility is updating your mac; www.apple.com/support/downloads/Only other thing I can think of on an absolute long shot is deleting your cache and cookies etc and if that don't work go to a mac support forum to see if any technical bod knows the answer thats the type of place i go if I have any pc problem...I get laughed at half the time though lol |

No you ain't screwed if you can't access the main site. If you ask nicely enough Adam, or Dante will convert the results into a PDF file for downloading each week.
And anything else you need can be found on the forums with regards to profiles, cards, news etc.
Only thing you won't get are the nice little match comments that come with the card on the main site lol.

you won't be screwed amigo. as the cards will be posted on the forum before they go up on the site, and Adam can post the results in pdf format for people if need be.
All you'll miss out on is Adam's little messages and pretty pretty pictures.
Plus...like the roster images (which need updating) the staff page, the rules, the match types, Lance's HoF speech.......hmm, lol.
but you'll be ok.

mac is a bit diffrent the pc's guys  the newest ver if IE will not work on your mac unless your running paralies or bootcamp to boot into a windows envoriment. try this tho I have to do this at home to be able to post rp's on xhf with out it timeing out on me, go to krpoxy.com and punch in the url and see if that works we'll go from there. |

I do tech support all day with web broswers for the MLS (multi listing system, realitor website to post houseing listings etc) and before that I was a system admin for a mortgage bank so I guess you can call me the resedent techy, just dont call me at night. I NEED MY SLEEP |
