Guess who is here once again to bring you another exciting edition of her weekly column, the Knitelife? Yes that's right, me Kelly Knite. You all win a special surprise unlike anybody who emailed me last week with my special trivia questions. That's right fans, not a single one of you got anything I asked last week right. Give yourselves a big pat on the back and then turn and give Andrew Jacobsen one as well, because he totally fooled you all. Don't you feel so stupid now?
Now lets move past feeling sorry for ourselves and instead focuse on something exciting and worth our time, Nothing to Lose, the fourth annual fan's choice pay per view was nothing short of a wild success. From top to bottom the matches were great and the action was edge of your seat worthy. We crowned new champions throughout the night but when it came to our two world titles, everything stayed the same as Aly and Steve managed to hold onto those belts for at least a few more weeks. Now go and start patting them on the back as well as they've solidified their places on the roster as more than just transitional champions.
I don't know really where to begin, we could talk about how good it was to see my husband Adam back on NCW programming, but then we can talk about how we saw the Internationals finally man up and demand their stop, we could talk about how Ricky and Roxi's big plan to screw Steve Awesome over went and completely backfired. There is so much that was great about this show, there was so much that I could just go on and on about, all the matches, all the segments, it was great. I'll get into that later during the breakdown and only say I hope you guys, if you didn't catch the first showing, catch the encore showing of Nothing to Lose.
Last week's poll was over which fan choice pay per view had the best name, and I was a bit surprised that the voting was so lopsided. Not that I think Ascension was a bad name, because I don't, in fact I agree with you as it being the best name, but I just sorta figured the other names would push it, but they really didn't at all. Then again I'm kinda biased with the choice as you know a pretty big match and moment happened for me last year at Ascension. Part of the reason why I love this fan choice pay per view now, in case you wanted to know.
Now this week we're going back our traditional post pay per view poll.. which match did you think was the best of the night? What match did you find the most exciting, the most well done, and had the most passion and excitement, make your opinion heard.
RECAP AND REVIEW
//WHAT I LIKED//
Well You know I love to see a wrestler rise through the ranks and make his name known, a young guy who takes a big step to being a legit NCW Star is always great and Jonas Potter did that on this show. KLB is one of the best submission wrestlers this company has and Jonas Potter took that Honor Title from him, and we're all hoping he never looks back. Great victory for him in his young career.
I was happy to see Aly Gardner retain her title, I really didn't want to see her have a three week title run, I like to see champions really prove themselves to all their detractors and that's what Aly did. Kinda felt bad that Emma got denied her chance to do the same thing, but then I think about how unfair it is to have a man fighting in the Starlets division and I get over it quick.
Andrew Jacobsen coming back to denounce the Young Guns way and side with Rob Diamond to take down Jimmy Zane and Lex Sense. What was really great about it was that nobody... NOBODY say it coming. I laugh at all of you ingrates who said it wasn't shocking enough. When you morons couldn't even guess who it was, how does that make it not shocking? Isn't that they definition of shocking, or a surprise, it's something you didn't expect so A+ for Jacobsen there, and great job of Rob Diamond getting Ajjr back on the right track. Now the only question is... will it be uneasy during their tag team meetings with Zelda in the room? HeeHee.
Oh man was it great seeing Steve Awesome pull out that tiny cup and laugh in Roxi's face, it was so perfect and one of the heads up plays of the night. Hey if nobody could never say anything else about Steve Awesome, they can say that the man will do anything to keep be World champion. He covered all his basis in this match, and he walked out with the World title still over his shoulder.
//WHAT I DIDN'T//
I did not appreciate what the Internationals did to Amber... she was giving a great rendition of the National Anthem and they want to come out there and embarrass her, it was pathetic and nothing close to be honorable. This really bugs me even more so because it was against the person who was the Maid of Honor at my wedding. I'm glad the Internationals went out there and challenged one of the most dynamic teams in NCW right now in two former World Champions, The Kane Brothers. Ballsy move there, but miserable display earlier in the night.
//GRADE//
Well, I don't know how I can say the show was freaking fantastic any more than I already have. From the very opening match that saw Caleb Lockwood picking up a great victory in the first Elite X match, to when Steve Awesome pulled that cup out from his pants the show was exciting and full of fast paced action. I just don't know how many more times I can say this year “This ppv might have been better than the last” but it just seems that every time we have a big show this year it comes out and rivals the one before it without question. This show is clearly an A job, and congratulations to everybody who put in a ton of hard work into it.
//THE FAB FIVE//
5. ALY GARDNER: It was her big chance to legitimize her championship reign and she came through in a big way. I know I pushed this concept a lot, but it was a big moment for her and I'm glad she won this match.
4. BWA: A lot was made about the original NCW Starlets tag team coming back to NCW and declaring war on everybody here, but hell when push came to shove they came out and backed up all their talk. Great win for them.
3. JONAS POTTER: Any other week this win would be higher on this list but sadly with two bigger titles on the line in huge matches of the night I could put him past them. It was honestly put, an AMAZING win for the good doctor, one that could just be the starting point to a brilliant career.
2. STEVE AWESOME: Well the world champion takes home second place this week. A great defense with a heads up move in the middle of it that saved his title. It was a great showing and a great moment for Steve who is now gunning for the record of most days as World champion, I'm sure.
1. ROBERTO VERONA: This win is so high because Venom couldn't keep the title from Alex Jones, Andrew Jacobsen couldn't take the title from him, and yet here was Roberto Verona coming in and in one attempt managing to outshine the two former men who he was under in the Young Guns.
PREVIEW AND PREDICTIONS
//THE NUMBERS//
LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 12-4
OVERALL RECORD: 292-92
Well fans there we go, I finally get back over 10 correct predictions the week after I lost my bet and now have to kiss Joe Everyman on the lips. I did I good job on this pay per view I thought, I could have done better but apparently the Web Show threw me off because that's where two of my wrong predictions came from. In my defense Potter winning the honor title was a big surprise to me, I didn't see KLB losing a submission match and I really didn't think Seth Evans could defeat a former world champion. Can't win them all I suppose.

//WHAT TO KEEP AN EYE ON//
Obviously you have to keep an eye on this Roxi versus Crystal match, just think about everything that happened at the pay per view between Ricky and Steve and then you'll know why this is going to be a big fight. These two women are going to beat the hell out of each other in the name of their men and it's going to be a fight you'll without a doubt want to see.
Venom is making his big return to an NCW ring, should I even have to tell you why that's going to be awesome? It's always great to bring back a well decorated part of NCW and see them in the ring again. Venom in his short time here last year rose up the ranks just about as fast as imaginable. He's back and this time he has his eyes set on the world title and nothing short of that will due for him.
So is Andrew Jacobsen in Infamous or not? We don't know, you don't know, hell I don't know if Rob and Steve really know. This main event is a good chance for Jacobsen to prove that he isn't a bad choice for the group. See this is where Jacobsen belongs, learning from the man who boned his mother while putting his father in the hospital and the man who stole his girlfriend.... wait what... You know, this is just worth watching for the soap opera effect, I'll tell you what. I don't know why I went all Hank Hill there.
It's been a while since KLB surprised everybody and was inserted into Spike Kane's Honor title match against Chris Gardner and it's sorta been an angle we haven't really gotten a good perspective from. This could be a revenge match for Spike Kane, this is his chance to get KLB back for being inserted in his match and maybe a chance to show it might have been a bit of a fluke for KLB to beat him? Then again it's a great chance for Bates to show that he does belong in the ring with the Hall of Famer talent in this company.
CLOSING
You gotta love Venom's moxie. He comes back from injury and immediately declares that he wants to be here to win the world title. Very bullsy and puts a smile on my face.
So who is going to be the next two people to challenge for the NCW World Titl? I'm not sure, but I'll tell you who I want to challenge for the belt. I'd love to see The Gladiator Xander Famularo get another shot at the belt. Remember he beat Steve in that Coliseum match.
Speaking of Xander... WOW! That was a shot Jason Evans took... and that wall was crazy.
Where was Joe Everyman at Nothing to Lose, wait he wasn't there? He no showed a pay per view? Shock and awe. Oh I'm just teasing you Joe Everyman, I have to be mean before I kiss.
Ha... Mercedes Lewis and Trish Newborn lost... HA HA HA. I love watching that.
Congratulations to our new first time champions, Rayne and Jonas Potter, It must be exciting have your first taste of NCW gold.
Well fans, that's all I have for you here tonight. I hope you all enjoyed this column and I hope you even more so enjoyed the pay per view and all the hard work that went into it.
Until next time...
