Yah! Let's do this.
AFC East
1: New England Patriots: 13-3
The Pats will once again win the division, but this will be the last year they do so. Brady has about two good years left, Defense is switching to 4-3, may not get a lot out of Albert Haynsworth.
Losses to: Jets, Dolphins and Steelers
2: New York Jets: 10-6
The Jets are good, but Sanchez has been carried by the defense the past two years, so I'm just not buying his success. Predict Losses to: Ravens, Patriots Cowboys, Eagles, Chargers, Dolphins
3: Miami Dolphins 7-9
Yup, I have the fins pulling out some upsets this year, as you can already tell. But it probably won't be enough to save Tony Sparano from being fired.
Wins over: Bills, Jets, Patriots, Redskins, Raiders, Broncos, Browns
4: Buffalo Bills: 5-11
Ah, my Bills. So many moves, but nothing done for the offensive line. They will compete in most games, just not good enough to win them.
Wins over: Raiders, Redskins, Dolphins, Bengals, Broncos
AFC North
1: Pittsburgh Steelers: 14-2
Yup, I have them number 1 overall. Looking at their schedule, I can only see a loss to Baltimore and Cleveland in week 17. I pick them over the Pats in week 8.
Losses to: Ravens, Browns
2: Batlimore Ravens: 13-3
Baltimore only really has to compete with the Steelers here, and those are toss-ups. Great season ahead, but not as good as Pittsburgh.
Losses to: Chargers, Steelers, Titans.
3: Cleveland Browns: 6-10
The Browns will climb out of the basement this year, simply because the Bengals are rebuilding. New offense should help Colt McCoy as well. Also can't forget Peyton Hillis.
Wins over: Bengals (2) Colts, Steelers, Jaguars, Seahawks
4: Cincinnati Bengals: 4-12 They're rebuliding, and it will take Andy Dalton a while to learn the offense due to the shortened off-season. But in a year or so, they'll be back.
Wins over: Cardinals, Rams, Jaguars, Seahawks
AFC South
1: Houston Texans: 10-6
With Peyton Manning out for possibly the entire season, the Texans claim a playoff berth at his expense. Still a great offense, and improving defense. Not sure if switch to 3-4 will hurt so much.
Losses to: Saints, Steelers, Ravens, Falcons, Titans
2: Indianapolis Colts: 7-9
I'll go out on a limb and say Manning comes back by week 10-12. He'll get some wins, but not enough to save the season.
Wins over: Jaguars, Titans(2), Panthers, Bengals, Browns, Bucs,
3: Tennesee Titans 5-11
Matt Hasselback is the Quarterback, and he provides more stability than Kerry Collins or Vince Young. That said, he cannot be depended on to wins games, which I figure will happen.
Wins over: Jaguars, Texans, Browns, Bengals, Broncos
4: Jacksonville Jaguars: 4-12
They just released David Garrard, obviously feeling Blaine Gabbert is the way to go, Rookies generally don't fare well, but I have suspicions about the Jags D.
Wins over: Titans, Colts, Panthers, Bucs
AFC WEST
1: San Diego Chargers: 10-6
San Diego will do just enough to win the West, which will mean a trip to the east coast come January. Phillip Rivers has a lot to prove. Losses to: Vikings, Patriots, Chiefs, Packers, Raiders, Bears
2: Kansas City Chiefs 9-7
A playoff team last year, but I think they take a step back this year, since teams will now gameplan heavily to stop Jammal Charles and Thomas Jones.
Losses to: Chargers, Raiders, Patriots, Broncos, Steelers, Jets, Packers
3: Oakland Raiders 5-11
Oakland went unbeaten record vs. their division last year. They won't repeat that, so a winning season seems out of the question based on who they play.
Wins over: Broncos (2) Chargers, Chiefs, Browns,
4: Denver Broncos: 3-13
The team will play a lot of young guys, and young guys tend to make a lot of mistakes. Knowshon Moreno needs a huge year to keep the team competitive.
Wins over: Bengals, Lions, Chiefs
NFC EAST
1: Philidelphia Eagles: 12-4
Everyone's new favorite for the Super Bowl look like a great team on paper, barring an serious injury to Vick (he will get hurt at some point) The Eagles should ride high into the playoffs.
Losses to: Rams, Falcons, Patriots, Giants
2: Dallas Cowboys: 10-6
This division will be that close. But the Cowboys will just sneak into the playoffs again. Then, Tony Romo HAS to win or He'll just get more ridicule.
Losses to: Patriots, Eagles (2), Giants, Redskins, Cardinals
3: New York Giants: 9-7
Yes, Eli threw 15 int's last year. That won't happen this year, but the G-men need Travis Beckum and Ramses Barden to step up to replace Kevin Boss and Steve Smith. Good luck with that.
Losses to: Eagles, Patriots, Saints, 49ers, Packers, Cowboys, Jets
4: Washington Redskins 1-15
Congratulations Dan Snyder, your team will win the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes. With John Beck and Rex Grossman at QB, Maybe the Redskins talk Favre out of retirement. Anyway, It's going to be a long season.
Win over: Cowboys
NFC North
1: Green Bay Packers: 13-3
The defending champions do not face a difficult road to repeat, they should easily win the division and clinch home field. They retained everything from last year, in fact, they got better.
Losses to: Bears, Lions, Falcons
2: Detroit Lions 9-7
Yup, the Lions will do the Browns one better and place 2nd in the division. Barring another injury to Matt Stafford, I'm going to need a full season from him before I can call him good.
Losses to: Packers, Bears, Saints, Cowboys, Falcons, Broncos, Bucs
3: Chicago Bears: 8-8
The Bears are always a mystery. One week, they'll play like champions, the next, they are blown out by a lesser team. That only leads me to think they finish like that. .500
Wins over: Packers, Panthers, Vikings, Lions, Chargers, Raiders, Broncos, Bucs
4: Minnesota Vikings: 5-11
If McNabb stays upright, the Vikings will be in every game. Adrian Peterson has hopefully over his fumble-itis, but McNabb lacks weapons other than Percy Harvin.
Wins over: Chargers, Cardinals, Bears, Redskins, Raiders
NFC South
1: Atlanta Falcons 13-3
You read it here. Atlanta will finally unseat the Saints as NFC South champions. What Matt Ryan can prove in the playoffs is another story. One he'll get a chance to re-write this year.
Losses to: Bucs, Saints, 49ers
2: New Orleans Saints: 12-4
Just because Atlanta wins, doesn't mean the Saints don't do well themselves. They're just as good, and minus the mindset of getting Reggie Bush involved anymore.
Losses to: Packers, Bucs, Falcons, Panthers
3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 8-8
Another team on the way up, but in a hell of a division. They bucs will be in every game this year, and will pull a few out of the hat. Any other division, and the Bucs would be a playoff team.
Wins over: Saints, Lions, Falcons, Vikings, 49ers, Jaguars, Panthers (2)
4: Carolina Panthers: 5-11
Cam Newton is clearly the starter, otherwise, why did they draft him? to play behind Jimmy Clausen? Even with him, the Panthers will have a long road this season, and will find themselves top 10 in the draft again.
Wins over: Saints, Titans, Redskins, Vikings, Cardinals
NFC West
1: St. Louis Rams: 9-7
Again, another bold prediction. The Rams will catch a lot of folks napping. Steven Jackson is still the best player on the team, but the defense is getting a lot better. Rams also did well in Free Agency.
Losses to: Giants, Ravens, Packers, Cowboys, 49ers, Cardinals, Bengals
2:San Francisco 49ers: 8-8
The Niners are going back to the west coast offense, which should bode well for Alex Smith, Michael Crabtree & Vernon Davis, Defense still have questions.
Wins over: Seahawks, Giants, Browns, Bengals, Redskins, Cardinals, Rams, Falcons
3:Arizona Cardinals: 5-11
I'm being generous giving them 5-11, I'm giving Kolb the benefit of the doubt and saying he'll play well. 5 is all I can see.
Wins over: 49ers, Seahawks, Rams, Cowboys, Redskins
4: Seattle Seahawks: 3-13
Also could be in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. Sorry, but I cannot buy Tavaris Jackson at QB, or anyone else they brought in. Two rookie OT's make me nervous too. Defense is young too.
Wins over: Cardinals, 49ers, Redskins
