{The scene opens up back inside of the training center where Alex Jones had taken Seth, but they're not in the ring... in the background, we still see the ring setup for an Assault X. Both of the men are in their own corner and we can see see that Seth Evans is dressed for working out this time, and Alex Jones is just barking orders at him. He jumps up grabbing a pull-up bar in the process, and with the continued momentum, pulls his chin up just above the bar and quickly lowers himself down and releasing the bar, he falls to the ground on his hands and goes down to touch his chin to the ground to do a push-up, before snapping to his feet and leaping again for the pull-up bar. Alex Jones is holding a stopwatch and his eyes go back and forth from making sure that Seth is properly completing the training and the stopwatch...}
Alex:
"Five! Four! Three! Two! One! That's it, you're done."
{Releasing the pull-up bar, Seth lands on his feet and almost instantly falls back to land on his ass with his knees bent, his elbows resting on his thighs. Exhausted, but Alex Jones presses a button on the stopwatch to reset the timer as he stands a few feet ahead of Seth.}
Alex:
"That was great, man. That's similar to what this match is going to be like... you're going to have to leap to get a hold of that rope, and what's going to make it harder is that you're going to have to climb to the middle. Not to mention that you're going to have four other men gunning for you when you're on those ropes, and you're practically a sitting duck."
Seth:
"That's exhausting, man."
Alex:
"Don't beat yourself up over it, that was a damn half hour of nonstop doing that! Some people can't even make it past the first five minutes, especially on their first try."
{Seth wipes the sweat away, and stands back on his feet... he's a little wobbly at first, but does manage to keep his balance and just starts to walk it off. He walks towards the cooler and lifts the lid to pull out a cold bottled water --- he douses himself with it before pouring some into his mouth to take a good drink and walks back towards the pull-up bar. He takes a deep breath, and sets the water bottle on the ground.}
Seth:
"Ten more minutes."
Alex:
"You got it."
{Alex Jones quickly moves out of the way, and presses the button on the stopwatch to start the timer as Seth leaps back up to grab the pull-up bar... the scene fades as Seth continues his exercise.}

It was July 31, 2011 when I returned to the ring... when I felt that I was going to be unstoppable, because I didn't think that a lot of people really knew what I was capable of doing. I was facing someone that I didn't even know, but someone that nCw does clearly know. Jonas Potter. And... well, it wasn't exactly a fairy tale beginning. I didn't walk out as the winner. I didn't walk out with people knowing who I was, knowing that I still have what it takes to step into the ring and face the very best --- and beat the very best.
I let myself down.
I let Kiela down.
But there was something that I couldn't do...
And that was break my promise.
Believe me, when I had my shoulders pinned to the canvas on my first match back, I took a good look at the door. A long look at the door. I was starting to think that maybe, just maybe, I shouldn't have come back. I should've let it go. But I remembered what I promised to Kiela when I did sign that contract with New Championship Wrestling, with Leonard Fox.
I won't quit.
Not until I'm the World Champion.
Not until I'm in the Hall of Fame.
There's something that I remember when I first stepped into nCw. I told people that I didn't want the easy track... I didn't want to come in, and be the World Champion the next week! I didn't want to suddenly jump into the main event, and have people asking who I was, because I never truly paid my dues. I want to pay my dues, and that's why I'm happy to be in this match. That's why I'm looking forward to this match. That's why I'm looking forward to walking out as the X Champion, winning it from a great champion.
I told everybody, especially Xander... that I will walk out as the X Champion. I know how some of this is going to go. Some of you might say that I'm just cocky, but what right do I have to be cocky? I don't have the greatest track record on the roster. Hell, I've lost more matches than I've won! Therefore, I don't look at it as being cocky... what I see, what I hear when I tell people what I'm going to do is...
Confidence.
I'm confident in my ability.
I'm confident that I can walk out as the new X Champion.
I'm confident that I can make Xander Famularo happy with what I'll do with that title when I do win it.
My ability is what makes me confident... my potential, is what makes me confident. There are a lot of people that are going around saying that Xander Famularo won't lose this match, and that he can't lose this match. A lot of people saying that everyone walking into this match don't have a chance at dethroning the X Champion, but I feed off of that --- because I have this mental need to prove them all wrong! I have this need to do what everybody says I can't do...
And that's win.
This isn't going to be an easy match to win, but I know that I can do it. I've got not one, nor two, nor three opponents that I have to keep my eye on... but four... four people in this match, and everybody has to keep their eyes on every other opponent there is! That's why it's not going to be easy to climb across those ropes and grab the X Championship.
What do I have to say about that?
Good!
I'm glad that it's not going to be easy, because I didn't get into this industry to take it easy! I knew what I was walking into when I first turned eighteen, and I decided that I wanted to go to the wrestling school to train to be the best damn wrestler that this industry has ever known. I knew that when I signed my contract with nCw that I wasn't walking into a place where I was going to slingshot to the top of the mountain, and be the World Champion in weeks...
That's why I signed with them.
One of my opponents, I've had a little bit of a past with this guy... Jason Evans. So much of a past that he... stole... my last name. Nobody knew him as Jason Evans! And we all know that he's having fun throwing around these jokes about how we're not related, because... well... we're not... all jokes aside, we're not related. However, no one knew his name to be 'Evans' until he stepped into the ring with me. Just hot off his title victory, I shattered his ego by showing him that this young upcomer could stand on the same ground as him.
I didn't beat him.
He didn't beat me.
It ended in a no contest.
It's impossible for the match to end like that in this one, Jason, and let me tell you... if that match hadn't ended as it did, I would have walked out as the winner! There's no doubt in my mind, or in the minds of anyone that saw that match --- I was the winner.
Nothing has changed with you.
You still go around with these diseased whores... and think that you're a real ladies man, because you can use pick-up lines that were popular in the '80s. I know, Jason, I know that your mother told you as a child that you were the best looking child in school... but you didn't have to take it to heart. Every mother tells their child that. Especially the ones who just... aren't...
Another one of my opponents is Gjenrei. This is a guy that I have no history with, and that I know nothing about --- what can I say about him? He won his match. He's talented inside of the ring. He wouldn't have been granted a contract all the way from Japan if he wasn't...
You brought up obstacles, Gjenrei. And I don't mean any disrespect by saying this. But that's just what you are... an obstacle. An obstacle that I will conquer, along with all of the other obstacles in my way and I will become the new X Champion. I will become a great X Champion. You might pull a lot of tricks out of your hat, Gjenrei, but I'm no stranger to the tricks. Personally, I look at you... and I see that you might be my greatest challenge in this match.
I hope that you are.
Good luck.
The next person on my list is Caleb Lockwood... a good wrestler, you were the one who won the very first qualifying match. You defeated Freakke the Clown at Nothing To Lose to earn your spot in this match... what can I really say about you? You, like Gjenrei, I don't know too much about.
But you won.
So you have to be capable of being in this match... in the same ring as me, in the same ring as Xander Famularo. The three of us... Gjenrei, you, and myself... thinking of this in the logical sense, we would be the favorites. We take a look at Jason and Xander, and we see power! Much more in Xander, along with a bit more technical skill... while Jason... just focuses on having the bigger muscle. Oh well. We have the speed, and we do things in that ring that a lot of people just wish they could do... we can fly from the corner of the ring to the very middle, and possibly take that title down with us.
We have that advantage.
Caleb, you can fly if you want to... but you should know that I'll be right up there with you, and I will be taking that title right out of your hands, and send you to the mat. I'm not accepting defeat here, man. Don't expect me to.
Last, definitely not least... Xander Famularo. Like I told you the last time, I do have a good amount of respect for you, Xander. You've gone in the ring with me and you shattered my entire world --- you shattered my entire belief that I was the best damn wrestler of this generation, of any generation, by calculating my moves... and beating me... in the middle of the ring.
A lot of us look at you and we look at this type of match, and we say that we have that advantage over you. But like I said... if there's one big man in this company that can surprise us, it'd be you. You are the champion, you are the two-time champion, and you didn't have an easy time earning your spot in New Championship Wrestling. It won't be an easy road ahead of you...
This Sunday, I have a chance to beat you. I have a chance to take your X Championship. I am going to capitalize on it.
{The scene comes back in back in the training center, and we see Seth Evans sitting on the bench... he's drained, at the moment, after going through multiple rounds of his exercises to make sure that he was going to have the agility, speed, and strength to be able to take himself across the ropes and come down with the title in hand. In his hand is the water bottle that he had taken earlier, and he takes another drink from it as he is trying to sit up straight on the bench --- not let the camera see his exhaustion, and battle through the pain inside of him to keep himself strong. Suddenly, Kiela walks in from the side and takes a seat next to her boyfriend. Still worried that he might get hurt in this match, but she knew what Seth would tell her --- the same thing that he had to tell himself... stay confident. Confident that he would be okay in the match, and not just okay, but confident that he would walk out as the X Champion. His eyes lifted to look at Kiela, as her nails gently slid up and down his back.}
Kiela:
"What are you going to do if you win this match?"
Seth:
"Don't you mean to ask what I'm going to do WHEN I win this match?"
{She giggles at his response, and nods her head.}
Kiela:
"Yes. What are you going to do WHEN you win this match?"
Seth:
"Well... winning it, I think, is the easy thing. It's about proving myself as a worthy champion after that. I don't want people to look through the history books and have Xander's name stand out... although it should... I want them to look in the history books, and look straight at my name. I want them to see and believe that I was the best X Champion that this company would ever have."
Kiela:
"You're putting a lot of pressure on yourself with that kind of thinking... don't you think you should just focus on winning it, first?"
Seth:
"I am."
Kiela:
"It sounds more like you're thinking about what you're going to do after you win."
Seth:
"...I am."
Kiela:
"Focus on winning, first."
Seth:
"I bet you're more worried about me walking out of this match, on my own two feet."
{She remains silent through this comment, and tries to look away. A smirk comes to Seth's face, and he turns to face Kiela completely as he lifts his hand to her head, turning her head back towards him.}
Kiela:
"I can't help but worry, Seth."
Seth:
"Listen. I promised you that I wouldn't quit, I won't stop, until I'm walking out as the World Champion... this is the first step... nothing they do is going to stop me from getting back on my feet at the end of the match, and walking out on my own two legs."
{She is silent, again.}
Seth:
"Nothing is going to stop me from walking out as the X Champion."
{Scene fades.}
Familiar...
There have been a lot of champions in New Championship Wrestling that were viewed as paper champions --- I've tried to give them the respect they deserve, because they were still a champion. Whether people liked to acknowledge it or not.
Some of you might say that... I was a paper champion...
I didn't want to be.
I was disappointed in myself when I lost the X-Division Championship after my very first title defense. I couldn't even stand to look at myself in the mirror, because I told people that I wasn't going to be that --- I told myself that I wasn't going to be that! I told everyone that they would remember me as the X-Division Champion. There would be names that come up for every title that they remember, names like Angel, Alex Jones, Rob Diamond,those are names that come to us when we think about the X-Division Championship.
I wanted my name to be there.
I wanted people to remember me.
I have to correct that mistake, and that's why when I do become the X Champion... when I do walk out of the Assault X as the new champion, I am not going to go back down that path! I'm not going to let people forget my name. Like Xander, I want people to know that I am a... fighting champion... that I'll take on all challengers... because I will.
What kind of champion will I be?
The one that you won't forget.
