Kelly: Adam you have to talk to her about this.
Adam: No. No I don’t.
Kelly: You’ve been the biggest influence in her life for like ever, and you’re not going to say a thing about this?!
Adam: Why should I!? It’s not like she came to me with this information and just freely handed it out! She wants to be closed lip and not say a word to me fine, I won’t say a *** damn word to her either!
Kelly: **** it, I knew I shouldn’t have said a world about it to you, maybe she's just waiting for Rob to make the annoucnement to everybody.
Adam: Whatever Kelly. I'm her brother, I should be the first damn person to know!
Kelly: Yeah, other than the father, and maybe you will be...
Adam: pfft.
{Adam turns and heads away from his wife, storming out of their bedroom and into the front room where he sees Zelda sitting on the couch staring at a TV screen, which normally wouldn’t be anything to write home about but then he noticed that the TV isn’t even on, and notices her blank expression as if she’s in deep thought. Adam closes his eyes and takes a deep breath before he takes a step towards her and is about to say something when Zelda turns around and sits up with her knees on the cushions, looking him right in the face.}
Zelda: Adam... I’m hungry.
Adam: Get something to eat.
Zelda: All you got is Kelly’s health junk...Take me somewhere, we can hang out.... and talk.
Adam: What’s wrong?
Zelda: nothing.
Adam: Then why would I want to?
Zelda: Because I just... I just want you to, OK!?
Adam: Yeah whatever Z, lets go.
…....
{The truck rolled across the street, the passing traffic seemed to do nothing to catch Zelda’s eye as she sat in the passenger seat with her chin rested in the palm of her hand looking out at the window, but at nothing in particular. Adam quickly glanced over at her, wondering what was on her mind. They were quickly coming up on the nearest Game Stop store, and when it passed Adam glanced over again, not a single look went it’s way from her.}
Adam: are you ok?
Zelda: Yeah.
Adam: GOD DAMMIT Z, WOULD YOU JUST TALK TO ME!
{Adam snaps at his sister who turns to look at him in complete shock, but at the same time, still in her indifferent daze. She lowers her head before turning back to the window and staring out at it.}
Zelda: I’m trying to find the words.
Adam: I’m your brother, just tell me whatever is on your mind.
Zelda: It’s not that easy.
{Adam shakes his head, he feels a bit betrayed here, after everything he’s done for her and she can’t talk to him right now in what is possibly the biggest news of her entire life? Adam grunts and angrily... hurtly stares at his window looking at the road rolling under them. Zelda turns back to see his expression, and takes a deep breath.}
Zelda: I don’t think i can tell you Adam... I... Have to find a... oh nevermind. I.. I...
Adam: Dammit Zelda! I already know, Kelly found the test!
{Zelda looks at her brother with her eyes wide in shock. She stares at him bewildered for a few second struggling to find out what to say to his response, however when Adam turns to see her, taking his eyes off the road, he sees the tears forming in her eyes. Adam quickly pulls off the road into a parking lot of a local chap looking diner. He stops the truck and looks at his sister, his demeanor completely changed now.}
Adam: Zelda, sis, what’s wrong?
{We fade as Zelda’s tears pick up and we cut to black just as she opens her mouth to force out a response.}
You don’t understand why I’m fighting you do you?
You don’t understand what drives me to pull out the stake and drive it through your heart.
I can hear it in your voice and I can see it on your face.
You just don’t understand.
Curtis Kanyon, you’ve been a thorn in my side for too long, hell you’ve been that for everybody for too long. You’re a loud obnoxious piece of trash who has no sense of values or morals. At least with DDK everybody knows where he’s coming from, he’s crazy, but he’s good hearted and he’ll have your back no matter what. Would you do that for anybody? As I said before you’d sooner sell them for a slab of bacon before lifting a finger to do a damn thing for the people who trust you. You’d rather lie, cheat and betray every person who has ever been cordial to you. You want to know why DDK was world champion and you will never even be close? It’s because you don’t have the charisma and pure style that man has, you just go along for the ride in the same body, and as far as I’m concerned he’s the true personality, you’re the *** damn alter ego, not him.
Everybody always thought it was such a strange pairing to see me and DDK as a team, they always thought we were some kind of a 70’s sitcom odd couple, though he was the comic relief where I was the serious brute. They didn’t know ****. What they thought they saw, what they thought we were wasn’t even close to actuality.
We weren’t an odd couple inside that ring, we weren’t two wrestlers with two distinct personalities, two opposites working together. No we were one, we made one cohesive unit in there. What I couldn’t do, he could, what he was incapable of, I came through with. We weren’t a team, no we were beyond that, we were partners, we were friends, we were almost one entity when we set our eyes on a goal. We wanted to rule over this company as the Kings of the tag team division and we did. Nobody beat us, nobody could beat us. We didn’t even lose the belts, they were stolen from us when I couldn’t compete. Nobody was close our level... you call that two differing personalities just getting along for a common goal? No ****ing way, it was two differing personalities coming together to form one.
You’ve seen what me and a close friend could do to you before, you remember when me and Gib kicked you and Gibson around all over the arena? You remember how if not for Brad Kane again, that you would have never regained your tag team titles? See Kanyon, it takes more than a crazy “I’ll bang anybody” attitude to be that close with Adam Knite, it takes more than a wild desire to win and be the best, you have to earn my trust, and prove to me that you’re worthy of my support, I won’t go into battle with just anybody, I won’t turn my back to just anybody and trust them to protect it, you could never be on that level... you could never be word champion, you could never be anything more than some comedy sideshow of racist humor and comedic debauchery.
You’re a side show attraction.
A curiosity.
nothing more than a novelty act that has worn out it’s novelty.
DDK is more than you could ever hope to be.
Why do I fight for him?
because he’s my friend.
That’s what friends do.
no.
That’s what family does.
Brothers to the end.
