You know I never realized how nice it really was to come home after a weekend of wrestling. When I say come home I mean I was over in England for two days before going to Alabama for Collision. Three matches in two days while flying all over the place. So as I sit here in my lounge chair it just feels nice to do nothing. Well I'm playing NBA 2K12 because I love basketball. Brandon and Jayden are coloring books on the floor, Tasha sitting in her lil' chair with a teddy bear. Still feels weird to have Freya off at school during the day.
She's doing well though. Getting straight A's so we're all really proud of her in this house. Pretty sure her brothers are if they could manage to not think of themselves for a moment or two. On the screen for the My Player mode I get an And One on a lay up. Point guard for the Utah Jazz. Jayden looks up from his book and claps.
Jayden: Yew do that daddy?
Still brings a smile to my face when they call me daddy. Then again with who their real father is it's not too big of a stretch. Tranny loving guy that one is. I never got how Freya was with him but all I know is I got her. I think this a lot. Don't know why either but I should answer Jay.
Dex: Yeah that was me lil' man. Wanna see a replay?
Both of the boys nod their head as I bring this play back up. Wonder if I should upload this to YouTube or not. Nah. I go back to playing for a few moments then my phone goes off. The ringtone is "Don't Cha" which is the tone my wife gave herself. I'll give Freya one thing, she never lacks confidence in herself. I put her on speakerphone so they kiddios can hear her too.
Dex: I got you on speaker.
Freya: Hi everyone.
The boys hear her voice and turn their attention to my phone.
Brandon: Mommy!
Jayden: Where yew?!
Freya: I'm on the phone at school. Mommy misses you.
Jayden still looks around for her while Brandon giggles. I shake my head before picking the kid up. He sees the phone and claps. I think he has Joe Ragnal's brain the poor kid.
Jayden: When come home?
Freya: When class is done for the day. I only have one more then I'll be home okay?
Brandon: 'kay.
Brandon and Jayden hop down and go back to coloring in their book while I look over at Tasha.
Dex: Kids are doing fine today. Tasha's playin' with her teddy bear while I play video games. Gonna get lunch made for 'em soon I think.
Freya: Good, good. Got my paper turned in. I think I should get an A, not sure but I felt like it's an A paper.
Dex: Should but some professors are just assholes. Lookin' forward to when you get home.
Freya: I think I might skip this other class today and come home. I've hardly seen you for a few days. I miss you.
That puts a smile on my face.
Dex: Missed you too.
Freya: After we get the babies to bed I'm gonna...
I better take this off speakerphone. I mean this my business and no one else's. I'm might be married to a Kane but I'll be damned if I don't air personal stuff like Brad did or act prudish like Spike does. I'm sure both will eventually maul me but still, Freya's my wife. And lemme tell you she's saying some very nasty things.
Dex: That all sounds wonderful. I'd love some of your cherry pie for supper.
CRASH! I look over to see that Brandon has just broke a lamp by throwing a ball around.
Dex: I gotta go love. Brandon just broke a lamp. See you when you're home.
End of the phone call. I stand up and I'm ready to go into pissed off father mode. They might not like it but you know something? At least they have it.

"You know what feels great? Not doing any workouts for a couple of days. I've been on the go since Friday and it's nice just to sit on my ass talking to the people who might care enough to listen to me. I know that's probably around six people but six fans are better then no fans at all. I imagine they were all pretty excited when I picked up the win against Freakke the Clown. My first win in nCw over a former National Champion among other accolades.
Yes I said accolades. I paid attention in school unlike a few other men here in this company. Not saying that one of the men who I share the same skin color with is an idiot but he's a walking cliche and setting us back a few years. Not naming names or anything but I'm not going to yell I'M DEXTER DAVIS at the top of my lungs to get popular.
I'd rather let my in ring ability and the occasional good one liner do myself justice. While I might not be on the main show for Road to the Gold V I do find myself being on the pre-show once more. Completely understandable on how I'm getting placed on the card as I'm an unknown here. I might've trained under such and such but they matter not here in nCw. Nothing I've done matters here in New Championship Wrestling despite only having around fifteen matches in my career.
This is a chance to make a name for myself without having to deal with someone's budding out of control ego over in England. I don't have to deal with all the people jocking for power else where. To me nCw represents the purest thing about professional wrestling. Competition. I want competition and it seems they're going to feed it to me. From Freakke in my return match to this Jackhammer on the preshow. Another former National Champion.
Although who he won it from and who he lost it to from what I've told is something not very special. Jackhammer beat Joe Everyman who is usually the footnote of history along with the butt of quite a few jokes. Then he loses to Jason Evans who is also another semi-joke. Still doesn't take anything away from holding that title for a while does it? Eighty four days of your life you were the National Champion.
You'd walk through the airport and is your frame wasn't enough for attention people would point and say you're the National Champion. Most of the time that National Title means you're one step away from the World Title but you've never been able to make said leap because of whatever reasons. Maybe you've lacked the chance or you just don't quite have enough skill at the National Title will be forever your ceiling.
To me there's nothing wrong with having something like this be the highest point in my career. If my destiny is only to ever get as high as the National Championship then I'd be thankful for just that chance. Most people look at this sport as a way to achieve total mainstream fame. They want the World Titles, the endorsements and maybe a movie or two. Everyone wants total power but I just want to wrestle. I just like doing this.
It was this or becoming a coach. I was challenged on a message board when I used to be one of those guys to thought they could do it better then the wrestler's themselves. So I trained and I'm here doing this because what was said on that message board made sense. That's why I'm speaking to everyone who listens to this today.
I step into the ring against Jackhammer on Sunday night to help get everyone pumped up for the real show. It's an important task. It's our job to get them ready for the real fireworks. We might not be out there for half an hour going back and forth in an epic battle but dammit it's still work that has to be done. Nothing about card placement is ever punishment. It's a chance to still show your skills and ability to the world.
So Jackhammer despite your hulking size and possibly chance to beat me to a plup you know what they say? Speed can beat size. I can tire you out by running circles around you until you fall to that mat and are rendered useless. So that's how I see this one going down. Classic size against speed. Like the old Big Ten against Pac Ten bowl games. Only I'm USC and you're Indiana."
