Jake was suddenly in a very good mood, and I could only think it had something to do with whatever 'business' he had conducted with Dr Fisher - the psychiatrist who had helped me deal with the dark chapter in my life after Spike had attacked me, and later when Falcon had put me into a coma.
Dr Gregory Fisher was one of only three men in life who I felt I could trust absolutely with details of my life, my darkest and most intimate secrets. The other two? My husband Jake, and my dear old Pop. Between the three of them, they knew everything about my life - even things I had never told my ex boyfriend, Steve Evans.
Kathy: You're in a good mood this morning...
Jake: Why not, babe when life is so good?
Kathy: Oh, and why is life so good?
Jake: By this time next week, I'll be a two time National Champion, you'll be next in line for a Starlet's World Championship, and together the first step to the dream of being a golden power couple here in nCw will be complete...
Kathy: You really think we can pull it off?
Jake: I know we can. I'vve never doubted your ability to get the job done out there...
Kathy: And I've never doubted yours...but I am not going to underestimate Mercy, I know she can get the job done out there...
Jake stifled a laugh.
Kathy: What?
Jake: I'm sorry, I know she's your friend and all, but come on honey. Everybody knows you're the more talented half of that team. You have all the ability and you've carried her in just about every match you guys have ever had as a team...
Kathy: Everybody says that, but I don't necessarily think its true...
Jake: I do...and I also think that sometimes you sell yourself too short....
Jake approached me from the foot of the bed, slowly he crawled up towards me, until he was leaning over me with that devilish grin on his face.
Kathy: What are you doing?
Jake: Oh nothing...don't mind me....
Jake whipped the duvet off me and I felt a chill wash over my whole body as I saw the hunger in his dusky brown eyes. He straddled me, his knees either side of my hips. He looked at me in the eyes, but it didn't take long for his eyes to quickly scan my curves under my black negligay. I knew what he wanted...but I couldn't help stop thinking about what business he had with Dr Fisher and I knew I wouldn't be in the mood for his amourous advances until I had the questions settled in my mind, so I just had to ask him.
Kathy: Erm, honey, I hate to ask this now...but I really have to know...what business did you have to discuss with Dr Fisher?
He was two busy kissing my neck to hear me.
Jake: Hmmm?
Kathy: What did you need to discuss with Dr Fisher?
He kissed the other side of my neck before responding vvery slowly.
Jake: Do...we...have...to...discuss this now?
Kathy: I'm sorry, but its just that I can't stop thinking about what was so important?
He stopped kissing me then, and instead looked at me straight in the eyes.
Jake: You're serious about this, aren't you?
I nodded.
Jake: Okay, I'll be honest with you...
Kathy: You always have been...
Jake: I was worried about Nathan Webb and I felt he needed some help...
Kathy: I didn't know Nathan had psychological problems...
Jake: Neither did I, but honey you should have seen the state he was in after our match. He was such a mess, I guess he couldn't handle the loss. He was beating himself up about it backstage, actually physically harming himself...
Kathy: Really? God...I had no idea...
Jake: Yeah, me neither. The poor kid did quite a number on my arm and probably felt there was no way he could lose. It's still quite sore this morning...
Kathy: Awww, poor baby...
I leant over and gently kissed his right forearm.
Kathy: Better?
Jake: I think I need something to distract me from the dull pain...
Kathy: I think I can manage that...
I giggled and pulled him down and kissed him passionately, before I whispered in his ear.
Kathy: Thank you for being so honest with me honey, I appreciate it. I can't believe I married such a wonderful man and I think its great that you're looking out for Nathan the way you are, especially when you guys aren't even that close as friends, that shows your true character honey, it really does...
Suddenly I felt his hip vibrate and 'Revolution Roulette' blare out from his jean pocket, determined to spoil our intimate moment, but not as determined as I was not to let it. I traced my hands down his back and across the top of his hip before reaching in and pulling his cellphone out of his pocket, still kissing him. Without bothering to look at who was calling my husband, I put it on the bedside table and let it ring itself out. I instead rolled ovver onto the top of my husband with a smile, and let the shoulder straps of my negligay slip.
The camera focused on the ringing phone.
