Saturday
{Inside of the home of Seth Evans, we see him walking towards his couch after turning the television on. He was weird like that; preferring to turn the TV on by walking up to it and pressing the "power" button over using the remote control. However, he did have his Xbox 360 control in one hand which he used the middle button to turn that on --- he places his A40 Astro headset on, and has a big smile on his face while waiting for the screen to load up. Taking a quick glance at his friends list, he sees someone online playing Batman: Arkham City... he presses the button to send a message.}
ix Sanity xi: BF3?
{Waiting for just a moment, he receives a message back from "northstar187".}
northstar187: Not now, Seth. Kind of busy.
{Letting out a sigh due to the decline of his invitation, he goes to send a message back.}
ix Sanity xi: Pussy.
{He doesn't waste any extra time, and presses the joystick down a few times until he reaches the main page of the Xbox, and then presses the button to begin playing his new game. The one that he couldn't enjoy earlier in the week, due to being upset over his loss. Battlefield 3.}
So what if I want to relax and play my game for a little... I've been training hard all week. I think I deserve a little break. This is it. Don't let my gaming fool you --- I'm going to be ready for Sunday night, I'm going to be ready for the X Championship match... I'm going to be ready to walk out as the brand new X Champion! It wasn't the belt I was looking forward to at the beginning of the month, but it'll do... I've been telling people from the very beginning that I want to earn my way to the top of the mountain, taking each step. Even at the start of the tournament. I've been telling people that I'll earn my way from the bottom, and when I do reach the top. When I do become the World Champion. There's going to be no doubt in anybody's mind that I deserve to be! Let this be the start. Let this be the start of the era of Seth Evans. It's going to be a long road, and I'm going to enjoy every step of it.

Childhood... man, I miss those days. When I was able to live day to day without a single care in the world, because I knew that whatever I did, my parents were going to be there to take care of me. I didn't have to have a job. I was told that I could be anything that I wanted to be when I grew up! A child is full of dreams, and desires. Why did I bring up childhood? To make a point that we are encouraged to dream, and chase those dreams until we can turn those into a reality.
I'm not sure if you've heard this before, but I'm sure you have: Childhood's over the moment you know you're gonna die. That's when the dreams cease, that's when you stop having the desire to succeed because you accept reality... the reality is that we are going to die. The reality is that half of these people aren't going to live those dreams that they sought out from a young age.
The reality is that half of these children fall into it because they give up on their dreams.
Truly, Gjenrei. I used to think like that... In fact, it was just back in high school. I would have discussions with my favorite teacher about anything and everything that came to my mind, and life was one of them. I was telling him how the end is inevitable, how we're all going to die anyway and so there was no point in dreaming. He asked me one simple question: "What are you going to do with the time that you are given?"
That question, it opened my eyes... I accepted my dreams. I lived in my dreams. The only thing that I thought about was what I was going to do with my life to make it worthwhile. My dream became to turn it into a reality! And I knew that I could. The death would still be there, but my name would live on... forever... I remembered my childhood dream. I remembered that I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I wanted to be the greatest professional wrestler.
From that day forward, I didn't let anything get in my way of living my dream. I did all the work that I had to, and eventually... well... just open your eyes. I'm under contract with New Championship Wrestling, I'm recognized as the runner-up to the 2011 Road To The Gold, I've faced some of the best. I've beaten some of the best. And I have an opportunity ahead of me that many people would kill for. A shot at the X Championship.
I may not be viewed as the greatest professional wrestler to ever live.
But I have a long road ahead of me.
I've talked about and dreamt about the day where I would walk out as the World Heavyweight Champion... in the Hall of Fame... and my promise was that I would not retire until that day comes. I made no promise that it would end when that day comes. There's no end, Gjenrei. Even when I take my eternal slumber... I will dream for the rest of eternity.
This is my dream.
That's something I do, though --- I look ahead. Want me to focus on what's straight ahead of me? Let me say it straight... what's ahead of me, what is directly ahead of me! Is the X Championship. The week leading up to my match, my mind is all over the place. I'm not going to deny that because you can tell... you can tell that my mind is all over the place. But you're right. From one bell to the next, that's what matters --- and that's all I focus on from that point forward. When we step into the ring, that's what's going to matter. That's what I'm going to focus on between those bells.
When that final bell sounds, I'm going to be thinking... ahead... I'm going to be thinking about what I'm going to do as the X Champion! So, what will tomorrow bring? A great reign as a great champion. Because I plan on defending that belt against all comers when I wear that belt around my waist.
I do respect you, Gjenrei.
But you have to understand.
I went through four grueling matches over this last month, as I participated in Road To The Gold. Caleb Lockwood. Freakke. Lex Sense. Xander Famularo. The last one, I wasn't able to defeat... I lost in the finals of Road To The Gold... I felt as if my entire world had shattered! One eye looked at the door... looked at the exit. Part of my mind considered breaking the contract.
I didn't.
I couldn't.
I wouldn't.
It is what it is, Gjenrei. I had the opportunity of a lifetime to go after the World Heavyweight Championship, and I wasn't able to succeed. I wasn't able to be the one to lead the new generation into the World Heavyweight Championship.
It hurts.
I won't deny that.
But I'm fine. I need this win, I need this championship... I need it... not for anyone else. Not for Kiela, not for Alex Jones. I need it for me. To redeem myself. To show the world what a champion can be. Some people... they just need that opportunity. We saw it from Joe Everyman versus Angel for the World Heavyweight Championship. Joe took Angel to the limit, and he nearly... nearly... walked out with the belt around his waist. It happened with Alex Jones before he took the National Championship. It stands that people just need that one opportunity.
And this is mine.
When I capitalize on my opportunity. I'm willing to give the opportunity to anyone who needs it.
I reach one milestone this Sunday. When I bring that X Championship home.

Saturday
{In the training facility where Alex Jones had been training Seth Evans for the past couple months, we see two people grappling with each other near the center of the ring. Alex Jones is sitting on one of the corners just watching them, and before he can even blink, the man takes Seth over with a headlock takedown! A smile is on the face of Andrew Jacobsen as he's trying to wrench the hold tighter and keep Seth grounded.}
Alex:
"You see what Junior is doing to you, Seth? This is what you're going to have to do with Gjenrei... keep him grounded. Wear him down."
{As Jacobsen has this hold locked, Seth is able to roll over onto his stomach and push himself up to his feet but the headlock is still in --- until Seth shoves him with full force towards the corner! Jacobson bounces back, holding his stomach and chest that collided with the corner as Seth quickly rolls him up into a schoolboy but right when Andrew tries to kick out, he grasps the ankle and looks to keep the ankle lock applied but Jacobsen is a bit ahead of him by rolling forward, and Seth goes tumbling out of the ring, hitting a pile of chairs in the process! Andrew Jacobsen straightens himself up, and looks towards the outside of the ring, while Alex Jones just leans out to see Seth and can't help himself from laughing at the mistake.}
Andrew Jacobsen:
"Sorry about that."
{He says while getting to the ropes, and Alex Jones just waves his hand at Seth.}
Alex:
"He'll be fine. Take a breather."
{Andrew gets out of the ring and helps Seth to his feet, who is pushing himself to his feet. Andrew pats him on the back a few times, and Seth dusts himself off.}
Andrew Jacobsen:
"Didn't mean to send you flying like that..."
Seth:
"It's cool, dude."
{Alex Jones is getting out of the ring and heading to the office to discuss something with the head trainer of the facility while Andrew Jacobsen and Seth walk towards the water fountain...}
Andrew Jacobsen:
"Are you positive that you can walk out with the X Championship?"
Seth:
"I've been thinking very positive, but I can't say anything for certain. You know how it goes."
Andrew Jacobsen:
"You think you have it, and then it just gets ripped away."
{Seth nods in agreement with Andrew Jacobsen.}
Andrew Jacobsen:
"I'm sure that you can do it... you turned a lot of heads with your performance in the Road To The Gold."
Seth:
"But I didn't win."
Andrew Jacobsen:
"But you came close."
Seth:
"What do they call that thing when you almost win? Oh. Yeah. Losing!"
Andrew Jacobsen:
"It's not always black and white, Seth."
Seth:
"It is. You win or you lose... nobody remembers the performance, just the winners."
Andrew Jacobsen:
"Either way, man, you did a great job out there. Whether you care to notice it or not, a lot of people did notice you... you turned a lot of heads, and you are in a fair line for the World Championship after that performance. You've got a shot at the X Championship. It's no World Championship, but it's something."
Seth:
"And it's going to be mine."
Andrew Jacobsen:
"Then do it. You've got your work cut out for you, but we know that you can do it."
Seth:
"Thanks. I let one title slip away, I'm not letting a second one do the same. Got your Battlefield 3 with you?"
Andrew Jacobsen:
"You know it!"
Seth:
"Let's get a couple games in."
{Both Andrew and Seth walk for the television, where their bags are starting to unload their console equipment as the scene goes out.}
Slip away... that's the only way that I can describe what happened with the World Heavyweight Championship. It... slipped away. Right out of my reach. Well, it is what it is. No point in crying over it anymore --- just looking ahead. Looking to my next opportunity. Looking to my next chance. Looking to the title that will be mine this Sunday, at Road To The Gold. My road took a little swerve, but I'm back on track. Going straight for the gold.
