I find myself standing in a crowd line right now to get into one of the best jewerly stores in one of the various malls in Chicago. Tasha is with me in one of those baby chest holders because I don't want her in a stroller today. Too many crazy people that'd try to snatch her. She looks about at everyone before I kiss the top of her head.
Dexter: Now you better help me find a great birthday gift for mommy. Sure her birthday isn't for a couple of weeks but this has to be perfect. Your mommy means a lot to be and she does to you too.
Of course I'm well aware she can't respond to me but I think Tasha just enjoys hearing someone talk to her. So many people here right now but I'm used to the crowd and so is she.
Dexter: So do you think we should get mommy a necklace or a ring or what?
Tasha looks at some of the shiny things that catches her young eyes. This store isn't that busy thankfully giving us more range to move about. I begin to look at a diamond necklace for my honey buns.
Dexter: How about that one Tasha? You think mommy would love that?
I continue to look at it wondering if that'd be the one for Freya. Seeing as how both of our birthdays and our wedding anniversary are in December we're bundling them up into one giant event. One gift to one another. So I gotta make this count.
Dexter: Yep I think we'll get this for mommy.
I turn away from the counter to find a salesman but all of a sudden Tasha begins to cry violently like someone had just hurt her. I don't smell anything funky come from her so this is rather confusing.
Dexter: What's wrong baby? Did daddy pinch you by accident?
I turn around to look to see if I had done something and she slowly begins to stop. I'm really confused now because this is just really weird. Then I look over to see a giant mirror she was looking into so she could see the two of us.
Dexter: Ohhhh you thought I left you. No silly.
After I unhook her from the holder I spin her around to see my face turning my back to the mirror to where she can only see me.
Dexter: Daddy didn't leave you. I'd never leave you Tasha.
I give her a kiss which makes her smile even more. I continue to hold her myself while I begin to make the purchase of this gift for Freya. It'll be tough to get my wallet out with one hand but I don't want to disturb my child right now so I'll manage.

"I honestly think I'm facing someone who honestly thinks that if I don't manage to kill myself in the middle of the ring I'll never get the point he's trying to make. I get it and I just find it to be the dumbest thing. Professional wrestling is not a war against one another but a sport. It's not a battlefield but rather where I go to entertain people. I love wrestling but this just isn't life and death to me as it is to you.
You take professional wrestling a bit too seriously and it'll drive you insane. If you take this business as life and death then you'll die thinking that this business loves you. It doesn't. We're all cogs in a giant machine that get worn down and replaced. The moment you find yourself getting seriously hurt, Gjenrei you'll be forgotten about but somehow I think that's how you'd want it anyways. You just want to prove your honor, your sense of being a man.
I understand that. You want to be the best you. Everything you'd wish to be you're becoming and I like that. I like man that sticks to his ideals and values and won't change them for any man who might try to do so. I respect you Gjenrei. I like your style of wrestling and I just think you're a good person deep down but that still doesn't mean I won't give you everything I have tomorrow night when we step into your battlefield.
I mean you hold what I'd like to have so even if I think it's stupid it is your battlefield tomorrow night and we will wage the war you so desperately want to hold. I'll give you want you want. I'll give you those things you want from me. A big war in your battlefield so you can prove to everyone about your sense of honor, your sense of justice and whatever else might be ticking in that head of yours. I don't mind it as I said.
But there is never a time when I don't step into that ring without the intention of leaving it all in there. To not give it your best is to not really care about what you do. I've spent enough time around my brothers in law to know when someone does and doesn't give a full effort because both of them are known for half assing it sometimes. I've seen a lot of people I know half ass it when they should be out there busting it for something they love.
If you love something or someone you fight for it. You always fight for what you believe and love in. I think that's something both of us can agree on Gjenrei. That thing we love we'll fight for it until the day we die. I have numerous things I'd die. I'm sure you do as well so we'll go into your war tomorrow night for the X Championship.
I'm a good man or at least I'd like to think I am so I'll give you this. I'm looking forward to stepping into the ring with you ready to wage this match like I've never have before. Instead of my best I'll give it more then my best because I don't want to walk away from this empty handed. I want to make my mark and if that means I gotta strike you down in the process then that's how it'll be. I'll give you an honorable death tomorrow night in the middle of the ring.
Win or lose tomorrow night I'm going to give you everything you can handle masked man. I know you'll do the exact same thing so I'll see you then."

After a long taxi ride back to the hotel I find myself cradling my sleeping daughter and opening the door. I see Freya stretched out in one of the easy chairs in our suite watching the Star Wars marathon on SpikeTV. I married a geek but I'm fine with it. Learning new things all the time with her. She turns around to see the two of us before standing and taking Tasha out of my hands.
Freya: Hey there sexy. Did you get me anything?
Dexter: You'll see in a couple of weeks.
She gives me a pouty look but I resist and take a seat on the couch. Freya eases down next to me while Tasha keeps sleeping.
Freya: How long has she been sleeping?
Dexter: For a while now. She had fun at the mall. Giant mirror so she was completely in love with that. Started to cry when I turned away from it because she thought I left. Wish she could go into the arena with us tomorrow night but I don't want her to get frightened seeing some of these people we work with.
Freya: It's why we brought along Amanda. She's so great with kids. Glad we got to know her over the past year and a half or so.
I nod my head as Tasha begins to wake up. A smile forms on her face seeing mommy hold her.
Freya: Well hey there sweetie. Did you have fun with daddy? He said you did.
She keeps smiling at us while I tilt my head back to begin thinking about tomorrow night and what it might mean to my whole family to bring home that X Title. I think it'd be a great way to spend Tasha's five month mark holding a title. Yep that's exactly how I intend to celebrate numerous things next month.
