~*~*~Death. It truly is finality. They say that death is the one thing in life that you can never take back. That and taxes. Until recently Lance Ryan felt that he could add one thing to that list, retirement. And yet, one whiny little bitch finally caused Lance to have to take that one thing back. This Sunday, the living legend will set foot back in an nCw ring for the first time in a long time to take on a man that has been a thorn in his side and a thorn in the side of nCw for many years, Trent Helms. ~*~*~[/i]
I will give credit where credit is due Trent, you pulled the right strings if you wanted to get into my head. I have seen far too many of these recently and Sunday because of you no doubt, I will have to battle you with another one sitting at ringside.
~*~*~Panning out we see that Lance is standing in front of a big mahogany casket with a bouquet of flowers on it. Lance walks over and traces his hand along the casket, stopping in the middle. He rests his head on the top of the casket.~*~*~[/i]
In the last three years I have watched as four of these have been lowered into the ground. I watched on as two grandfathers, one grandmother and my own mother were placed six feet underground to give back to the earth as the earth gave to them. Now you want me to concentrate as another casket sits ringside and you have the inclination to put me inside? Trent, there are a lot of things that people have said and done to me over the years that I have forgiven them for after the fact, but this casket match is not something that I can or will ever forgive you for. Playing with a man’s mind is one thing, but making him stare a reality in the face is yet another. Trent, I know that you are aware of the strife that my family has gone through over the past couple of years and I know that this is you trying to get one up on me…but rest assured of one thing, this has not put you one up on me, in fact for more than one reason, you have played into my hands.
~*~*~Lance lifts his head off of the casket and sweeps the flowers off of it. He opens the lid and stares inside.~*~*~[/i]
On an emotional level, you have failed because all that you have done is piss me off. You have poked fun at my legacy and what I stand for, that I can live with. But mocking me and my family in this fashion, that is where you crossed a line. All that you have done is remind me what it is like to stare down at a coffin and see a lifeless form lying inside. The first time that I buried someone, I kept waiting for them to sit up and finish the practical joke…but now I have learned that when you look down into casket and see a body, that means that they have breathed their last breath…they have had their time cut short. That is what I am going to do this Sunday as well. I am going to take out that anger on you and I am going to do something that should have been done a long time ago, I am going to cut your time short here. When I look down at your lifeless body Trent I am going to accomplish something that I have never accomplished before, I am going to lay you to rest. The part of that that satisfies me the most is that when I look down at you and I close that lid upon you I will have accomplished two things. I will have beaten you and I will have shown the nCw board of directors EXACTLY how well you hold up against Hall of Famers. I will show them that you couldn’t even beat me after over a year out of the ring.
~*~*~Lance now takes a walk around the casket seeing how secure it is in place. He again stops in front of the casket and this time the camera pans into the casket and we see a replica of Trent Helms laying inside the casket.~*~*~[/i]
Perhaps even more important Trent is that you didn’t think this through. A casket match is far from a wrestling match…it is about a fight. The only way to win this match is to lock your opponent inside of a casket. Do you realize how that plays into my hand Trent? It’s simple really. There is no secret that I have not had a match for a long time. I will no doubt have rust and had you have chosen a wrestling match for this grudge, you may have been better served. It’s been a while since I have versed myself in the art of wrestling, but now I don’t need to. This is going to be a fight between the two of us, and fighting is never something that you forget how to do.
People fight for many reasons, some absurd, others explainable. This Sunday I will be fighting for honor and in defense of a few things that mean a lot to me. I will be fighting for the honor of nCw. You have walked around far too often and ranted and raved about how you are the best. Complained about the fact that you deserve to be in the Hall of Fame…well son, this is your chance. Beat me and some people may start to listen…but I am sorry to inform you that that will not be happening. I will be out to show the world that beyond your words and beyond your arrogance you just don’t really stack up so well against the real icons in this business. You rattled my cage Trent and now you will get what you deserve.
More importantly though Trent, I will be fighting for my honor and the honor of my family. You have always been that bitch that says or does anything for attention and yet again you have lived up to your calling card by directing attention to the deaths of my family members. Yet again you have put yourself out there and this time you will pay the price for your mistake. It’s no secret that in my days as a wrestler I wasn’t close with my family or with anyone, that is part of the reason that I retired. I realized that I needed to have a family before it was too late. When my dad found out that you were bringing a casket into the equation, he simply had one thing to say, “bury him”. My dad is generally a very level man Trent, but when it comes to caskets he and I remember one thing more than anything. Cancer took my mother away from us way too soon and we had to live with that. What we don’t have to live with is a disgusting bottom feeder like you putting that in our faces.
~*~*~Lance leans into the casket really close to the face of Trent Helms, he turns the head so that he is speaking right in Trent’s ear.~*~*~[/i]
Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to remember the career of Trent Helms. Trent seemed to be moving along at a good little trek, trying to prove to the world that he was deserving of a Hall of Fame plaque. When he didn’t get the response that he wanted he decided to start calling on legends. Unfortunately one of those legends that answered the bell was Lance Ryan…Lance Ryan came back to nCw and caused the premature end of Trent’s quest to prove that he was the best. He beat the holy hell out of Trent Helms and he buried him and his career. Trent was never to be seen again.
~*~*~Lance backs up and slams the top of the casket shut so hard that the casket looks as though it will fall off of it’s stand. It teeters a bit to the back but manages to stay upright.~*~*~[/i]
That’s all you need to know Trent. Death is finality. When you get that lid closed down on you and your casket, that will be finality. Do me a favor Trent Helms and realize what you have got yourself into. You have been awfully quiet this week, awfully quiet for a man that lives to hear his own voice. Perhaps you have already realized the err of your ways. Perhaps you have realized that you didn’t wake a geriatric patient, you awakened a dragon. A dragon that can ensure that this Sunday, you will get burned. It will be the end of your era.
~*~*~Lance turns to his side and kicks the casket off it’s moorings and the casket falls to the floor.~*~*~[/i]
Trent, nCw, I am back. History will repeat itself.
