Lex Sense: I think about the last time I had any real drive or motivation. I speak of real drive not one inspired by hate. A motivation untainted by an urge to destroy.
I walked a path of self destruction and I got nothing for my troubles.
So I sit here wondering when was the last time I tried to better myself. When was the last time I tried to overcome the obstructs in my own crazed mind to find something to fill the empty void in my life?
The answer is quite simple... Never.
And I hope to change that.
{Sense sits alone. Deep in thought. His workshop is in shambles as everything is scattered about. He sits there with no expression on his face. Both mentally and physically prepared for the viciousness ahead at Breaking Away. This thing with Angel is not over. It will never be over between these two until one comes out, standing tall among the rubble. Standing tall over his defeated enemy.}
Lex Sense: Angel, I once looked up to you. You were the sole reason for me becoming what I am today. I shadowed your every move and became what I thought was you... Only better. I mimicked your rage and copied your anger and for a while, it was what I needed to escape that prison cell I was locked in. For a while, I thought I found out exactly who I was and what I was meant to be.
In hindsight, I was wrong.
I was wrong to worship the chaos that was perpetrated by your hand. I was wrong to cherish the violence you craved for. I was wrong to glorify the devastation you left in your wake. I was wrong for making you out to be some sort of GOD. Like you once told me...
You are no monster, Angel. You are but a man.
Albeit, a very dangerous man but a man nonetheless. I almost crippled you once Angel. I almost ended your career and that was when I was an unfocused monster blinded by rage. Now I'm a focused wrestler looking to stop your reign from getting started.
What will I do to you now?
I am a man in search of redemption by eliminating you from the ranks of the business I love. You will not destroy what men have worked hard to create. You're a dying breed that needs to be put to sleep and I will do everything in my power to silence you. You were once great Angel. There is no denying that but now you have become a man lost in desperation. A desperate man in search of a dominant comeback and I am the roadblock that stands in your way.
I am unafraid by your obsession with my face. I stand unamused by your idle threats and look forward to shutting you the f*ck up!
{Sense stands from his post as the sun rises. The new dawn of a new day symbolizing his growth as a human being. He smiles off to the distance as he removes the hood from his head, takes his duster off and leaves it in the seat he was sitting in as he walks away. Walking away from everything he once was.}
Mr. West: What you don't seem to understand is that we are not in the business to look out fo...
{Transition in on Alex West's office as he stops mid sentence after he notices a huge shadow standing in the doorway.}
Mr. West: I'm going to have to call you back.
{He hangs up his blue tooth as he stands and buttons up his tuxedo jacket. He stares at the big man who sports sunglasses to shield his eyes from the blinding sun outside.}
Mr. West: This is quite unexpected.
Lex Sense: Am I interrupting something important?
Mr. West: Not at all. It's just,... well, it's been a few weeks since you've contacted us. I was starting to think you were through with us.
Lex Sense: That's up to you. However, there will be some changes. Drastic changes if you wish to stay in "contact"..
{West smirks at the big man as he steps out from behind his desk to walk around and stand before the towering husk of a man.}
Mr. West: I've been working for your family since before you were born. Whatever you need I will do everything in my power to make happen, Lex.
Lex Sense: Good. Now I need to know where the hell Dr. Lyons went with my money.
Mr. West: She disappeared as soon as you showed this new side of yours. She was rather upset and decided that she was going to take what she thought was owed to her. I tried to stop her however, Guardian made sure she got her way. As to her whereabouts,... sorry, I have no idea. Your guess is as good as mine.
Lex Sense: What about Lady?
Mr. West: She's right behind you.
{Sense turns his head to find his former fellow insane inmate dressed nicely answering phones. She sees the big man and smiles his way, waving energetically.}
Mr. West: I hired her on as an assistant after Lyons left her with nothing as well.
Lex Sense: I'm going to find her Mr. West and I'm going to take back what is mine. They will regret disrespecting me.
Mr. West: I have no doubt sir. You're also in luck. I always prepare for these types of situations and I ensured that more than enough money was set aside on a different account. Your money to do with as you wish.
Lex Sense: ... I could always count on you, West.
{Sense brings in the smaller, balding, fellow British man for the most awkward of hugs. West has no idea what to expect in this situation but reciprocates in kind.}
Mr. West: Yes, well. Your family has always been kind to mine. May I ask, what will you do next?
{Sense pulls away from the awkward bro hug and takes a step back. He pats the tiny lawyer on the back as he stares off to the distance.}
Lex Sense: What I should have done from the beginning, old friend.
{Lex walks away down the halls of this office building as Lady Die comes bounding along to stand next to West.}
Lady Die: So, did you tell him the news?
Mr. West: Not yet, Lady. Let's wait a while before we tell him that.
Lady Die: Whateva ya say, Mr. W.
{And with that the scene fades and transitions into a seedy gym. A behemoth of a man works on sculpting his muscles. Scars all over his tattooed body. Scars on his face. All tell tale signs of war. He stops pressing the weights and sits up on the bench. He wipes the sweat from his forehead and his eyebrows furrow with determination. Th sun from outside shines in almost creating an aura around the big man. Almost heaven like.}
Lex Sense: It's sunny here. No rain, just shine. I've removed the face paint. I've gotten rid of those in my life that have held me down with their negativity and inhospitable natures. I've taken care of my former self. Locking him away in the recesses of my mind never to see the light of day again. I stand before you more determined than ever. Willing to put my body on the line just to get to the top of this company.
Willing to put my body on the line to break yours.
You see Angel, you're correct... In a way. I do feel the need to pave my road to redemption over your crippled remains. I do wish to start over by finishing you off because in a way... you are the one that started this reformation.
This rebirth.
I looked at your mangled body lying at my feet and though I thought that that picture would bring me joy and satisfaction, it only made the hole grow bigger. The hunger more insatiable. The thirst unquenchable. Rob then went on to show me what truly matters in this world and how much I've been fooling myself into believing the madness I suffered in was the only reality I could live in. In you I saw my road to penance. My. Way. Out.
And I could only get to that road by going through you.
You are not facing Xavier Williams. I am no Alex Jones or Spike Kane. I am better, bigger and stronger than any of them could ever be. I don't mean to say this as a way to feed my ego, only to force you to check yours at the door. The tricks that worked on them will not work on me and come this Sunday, you will be licking the sole on my boot with your bloodied tongue.
What happened to you Angel?
You were once a proud GM of this company willing to do whatever it took to keep it's doors open. Now here you are in hypocritical fashion ready to close those doors and then burn this building to the filthy ground. You have become everything you once despised in me. Looking down from your high horse at all the young bloods that roam these halls as if your sh*t don't stink.
When your sh*t stinks worse than any one of us.
You retired old man. You were done. you've had enough and you tucked your tail between your legs and walked out on this business like Tara walked out of your life. Then you decided to comeback to show this young buck how they did it back in your day and what happened?
I beat you.
Plain and simple. Yes, I know you beat me last time we met but let's be serious here for a minute. I wasn't 100% then. I was just getting reacquainted with feeling anything at all and it scared me. You were able to capitalize on me at a time where I doubted myself and my abilities. Congratulations,... But that time is over and done with.
And soon you will be too.
When I look at you, I also see Lex Sense. I see the man I once was. The self destructive, pessimistic and maniacal angel of death and that man needs to be put to rest. You were right about that. The time for "The Future" Lex Sense has come to an end.
But the present Lex Sense... Well, that's a whole different story.
The first chapter of that story will be written in your blood and it will end with you tasting defeat.
{Sense sort of half smiles before leaning back on the bench and pressing a couple of hundred pounds of weight. The sun shines bright as it all fades to white.}
I walked a path of self destruction and I got nothing for my troubles.
So I sit here wondering when was the last time I tried to better myself. When was the last time I tried to overcome the obstructs in my own crazed mind to find something to fill the empty void in my life?
