I have been going through it over and over in my head. I have never felt the pain that I did this past Saturday. I'm not talking about Angel nearly choking the life out of me.
I'm talking about seeing Alice in pain.
She screamed for me to help her and I lost focus for one second. Which is all Angel needed to get the upper hand on me. I walk around with burning scars around my neck working to remind me of the hopelessness I felt hearing Alice scream for me. I failed her and the punishment continues as I am still coughing up blood. At times, these flesh wounds still pain me to no end but nothing was more painful then being helpless in helping Alice.
Angel proved his point yet again.
He's a dangerous man when he wants to be. He can strike from whatever side he wants. It makes no difference to him and now I know first hand what must be done.
And it will be done.

{The sounds of wood being sanded down could be heard as we meet Sense in his workshop. He's covered in a protective helmet as he sands curvy edges into some form of shape. The loud sounds make it difficult to hear yourself think. He turns off the sanding machine, takes off his protective head gear and blows some sawdust away before beginning to speak. Never acknowledging the camera.}
Lex Sense: This is it.
Angel, you finally get your wish. Hell, I'm going to get mine. You and me go one on one in a match that will most definitely define my career and become just another accolade in yours.
You've done it all, mate.
You've been to the top, you've hit rock bottom. You traveled from curtain jerker all the way to the main event. You went from champion to hall of famer. You even evolved from a wrestler to a General Manager. One of the best nCw has ever had. Many men, women and children look up to you.
Well, they did until you gave them yet another reason to hate you.
All the hate aimed towards you combined doesn't even come close to how much I despise you. There was no need to get Alice involved in our quarrel. No need for you to hang her on that burning cross just to get me riled up enough so you could attack me from behind. I allowed you to steal my pin without repercussions. I was going to walk away and let it be what it was but nothing is enough for you until you take everything that makes me feel human and burn it to the ground.
I will not allow you to get away with that. I'm going to break every filthy finger you used to touch Alice and then I'm going to tear your arms from their sockets.
I am not some braindead monster, Angel, but I am a seven foot freight train of pure muscle. I am one big son of a bitch that will lift you over his head and send you hurtling into a six foot ditch so I could cover your sorry ass in dirt. This is it, Angel. No more after this. I'm done with you. The roster is done with you. The audience is done with you. Nobody likes you anymore. You made sure of that.
Come Time to Riot... I will end you.
Nothing pretty about that.
{With those last words he puts down the sandpaper and slowly turns to the camera with an eery smile. The kind of smile he used to smile when he wore the facepaint.}
Lex Sense: I'm thinking the exact same thing you are, boyo. I am just as motivated as you are, just as inspired. You've always been somewhat of a muse to me. The kind that inspires unnecessary urges of violence. Poetic displays of mayhem if you will. Through all your hard work to get into my head, through your foolish attempts to rid me of any joy, through your constant whining about my existence... I have found a reason to live.
Thank you, Angel.
For you have resurrected a once dead husband, father, man.
We will fight! We will fall! Until the Angel saves us all!... Or until the Angel falls.
{Sense throws the protective headgear on and begins sanding once again. Splinters of wood begin to fly all over the place as the scene transitions into a seedy gym. Dexter Rigsby stands behind a punching bag being worked by Sense. Each fist to bag being felt by the old man as Sense strikes with each blow harder than the one before. Sense is determined as he punches with all his might. Sense sees Angel's face and hits it one last time and Dexter is sent flying back as the punching bag breaks off it's chain.}
Dexter Rigsby: What's that really necessary, mate?
Lex Sense: ...
Dexter Rigsby: What's on yer mind fella?
Lex Sense: Everything. Alice.
Dexter Rigsby: You need to push that to the back of yer head. You have a big match comin' up. You don't want to be too busy thinkin' about other things with Angel across the ring from ye.
Lex Sense: ... I think I'm done for the day.
Dexter Rigsby: Wait just a dog gone minute! You can't just skip yer trainin' to go deal with personal issues. Don't you want to win against Angel?
Lex Sense: Not if it's going to cost me everything else.
{Lex untapes his wrists as Dexter just stands there with a look of concern. Sense tosses the strands of sweat drenched tape aside as he grabs a towel and wipes the sweat from his forehead.}
Lex Sense: Could you swing the car around? I've got some engagements to attend to.
Dexter Rigsby: I really think this is a bad idea but whatever ya say, kid.
{Rigsby walks away, shaking his head in disapproval as Sense wipes the sweat off one more time.}
I wonder how Angel can live with himself. I wonder how anyone could forgive him. Then I see the answer when I look in the mirror. The same could be said about me. Angel didn't do anything that I myself at one point wouldn't have done. There's people in our lives that keeps us going. I'm sure Angel would agree. Then again he would probably agree to disagree.
What's the point on doing what you are doing when nobody around you truly accepts it? Who are you fighting for then?
Your selfish desire to end me is only working to end you. I can understand your hate for I feel it too. It drives us to commit heinous crimes against humanity. Well, it drives you because unlike you, I refuse to drown in that misery anymore. You want me to revert back to the Lex Sense that would just rush into battle for the simple joy of bleeding you dry. The Sense that was ever boasting and claiming to be the best? Well, that Sense is dead.
When I saw Alice hanging on that cross, it only worked to force me to see myself for what I was and I hated what I saw. I will not allow you to goat me into de-evolving back into The Future when I am perfectly happy being The Present.
It seems everything you do to get under my skin only works to make me want to step out of my skin. Maybe this is your way of helping me. Maybe without knowing, or knowing, you are working to make me a better man. I will show you how grateful I am by ending your career on a high note. You wont have to walk away with your head down. I will give you a warrior's burial. One worthy of the name Angel.
You see, my grave will never be filled, its kill or be killed and this blood on my hands will make it impossible for me to reach heaven.
So I've got to pick up the pieces and bury them deep with you. So when the dirt hits your coffin.... Just go to sleep.

{Sense steps outside of the gym and the morning sun hits his eyes. He no longer shields them as he stares at the blue sky and breathes in it's fresh air. The Bentley pulls up in front of him. He takes a second before taking a seat in the back seat and then nods to Dexter, who seems to know exactly where he wants to go. Sense just stares out of the rear view window. His thoughts on Alice.}
Lex Sense: What you think about me no longer matters, Angel. I've proven that I could hang with one of the craziest Hall of Famers around. I've gone toe to toe with you. We have one win a piece and a tie. It seems fitting that we finally figure out who the better man is by burying the other alive. It's poetic justice and I will walk out of there with my head raised high as I head into the RIOT with momentum unmatched.
This will be my night. The world will know my name. The record books will show that I was the dominant one on this night. People will finally see that I fight for them. That I fight for what is right as I look to purge myself from the evil inside. And you...
Will become an afterthought.
A sniveling fool that will go on to tell his grandchildren tales of his better days. Conveniently leaving off the fact that it was I that ended them. An old fogey with nothing but regrets to keep him awake at night. Regrets from not being able to come through with your idle threats as you choked on the dirt I kicked over your grave. This will be a defining moment for the both of us. I will rise out of it better than ever and you will simply be buried under all your filth and lies.
Angel, I respect you.... Just not enough to allow you to run me over.
But I do respect you enough to end your dwindling career before allowing you to continue to make an ass of yourself.
{Dexter has been driving for hours but thanks to cinematic mastery it only seems like a few minutes as time speeds up and then slows down as the sun hides behind the horizon and the moon rises. The Bentley comes to a stop right in front of a building. Mr. West is waiting outside with lady Die standing next to him. Sense kicks the door open and the pair step into the backseat.}
Mr. West: I take it you read the file?
Lex Sense: Thoroughly. How long have you known?
Mr. West: Regrettably... Since the beginning. I wanted to tell you but felt that it was best to wait. I hoped that eventually you would see the error in your ways. I apologize.
Lex Sense: No need, West. It was what it was. We've all done things we later regret.
Mr. West: Quite right. What do you intend on doing?
Lex Sense: I'm going to go see him. I'm going to confront him and end this once and for all. Which is why I asked you to meet me. You are going to come with me. Both of you.
Mr. West: Are you sure that's the right course of action?
Lex Sense: No... but it will have to do. I'm going to end this with everybody involved present.
Lady Die: This is so exciting!
{Mr. West shoots the young girl a "don't be so foolish" look and she shies away and sinks back into her seat.}
Lady Die: Well it is.
{Dexter continues driving as the scene transitions back into the workshop. Lex is still working on sanding down wood. By the shape of it, one could assume that it is something to be used this Sunday. Sense stops the noise making and takes off the protective gear. He begins carving into the wood as he speaks.}
Lex Sense: We have seven days, if you count today, to prepare for one of the biggest matches nCw has ever seen. Sure there have been buried alive matches before but none of this caliber. The rumors have begun to fly throughout the social networks about what could possibly occur in our match. The audience have bought their tickets in anticipation for the RIOT... but also this match. There's no championships involved here. Just pride. I hoped that we could be friends, Angel, but you made that notion impossible.
We must remain enemies because you made it so.
And you will be buried alive because I'm going to will it so.
{Sense continues carving on his project as the scene fades to black.}
You had a gift for me this past weekend and I was left without a gift for you.
That will change this Sunday. I know it's kind of late but hey, better late than never, right?
I hope you enjoy it as much as I am in making it.
