Post Christmas Collision
Angel turns his back on Doc and Tara then leaves the room. When Doc turns around it isn't to the smiling face of his sister he imagined, obviously not everyone was in agreement over what just happened.
"What gives you the right?!"
"I'm your brother Tara! That's what gives me the right."
Tara steps forward and into the face of her brother, her voice booms off the walls as she screams at him.
"I love him!"
"I don't care! The guy is crazy! Did you see what he did to Lex's wife, what he plans to do to Lex, what he did to-"
She doesn't let him finish, she doesn't believe he's concerned with Lex or his family, she thinks he's just mad or jealous or both.
"To you? Yeah I saw what he did to you and you asked for it. Hell, you begged for it!"
He may of, but that didn't matter, Doc was genuinely concerned for the well being of his sister. After all he saw how bad things once got with Angel and his ex wife.
"He's dangerous."
"Not to me he isn't."
"Fine, then go be with that psychopath! Break up what's left of your real family for a man hell bent on dying this weekend! I hope Lex kills... No, you know what? I hope Lex leaves just a little piece of him alive... Then I can finish the job..."
He meant it. He and Angel have never seen eye to eye and they never will but Tara didn't care about that right now, all she cared about was finding Angel and letting him know whether he needed her or not she would be by his side...
Now
The dull roar of the fans begins to echo through the hall ways of the arena...
Their ready for blood...
I walk backstage, all eyes on me as I pass. They fear me. They respect me. I feed off of it. With each passing glance I can feel my resolve grow and I know that tonight a man will dine in hell.
It will not be me...
Lex Sense has found comfort in the fantasy world he has built around himself, believing this to be just another match against just another opponent on just another night but he is wrong...
This will be no match...
He contorts my words thinking because I have chosen to end his miserable existence inside a ring that I care whether or not I get the plus one in my win column...
I don't.
I chose this night, this match and that ring because Lex Sense above all other things is a warrior. And if I am to finish creating my monster then it must be done inside a ring.
What good would attacking him from behind do?
Lex Sense attacked me from behind...
He pursued this war with under handed tactics and back stabbing going so far as to try and ruin my one night in the light...
And what did he get for all his strength?
A seemingly broken Angel?
Heh... Hardly...
He did not think I would return...
He did not think I would rise...
He thought he'd killed me...
He was very wrong. He is very wrong about a great many things. Tonight is not the night Lex Sense overcomes the great and powerful Savior X and completes the first leg of his journey onto greatness and championship glory...
Tonight is the night he either rises through the hell I have planned for him and takes his place at my side as my monster or falls and becomes another forgotten memory in a promotion full of them...
He may claim to not want my place any longer but it is not a choice I offer him...
He is already on the path...
He is already my monster...
He belongs to me...
He does what I want...
When I want...
And says what I want...
Break me because I demand it...
Burn me because I command it...
Bury me because you have no other choice...
I search not for peace. I search not for the man I am within. I know who I am. I know what I have to do. I know why God put me on this earth...
I am a test...
I am every man's test...
To overcome me is to prove yourself worthy of the life he has given you...
To date Lex Sense has failed at living. He has failed at being a human being. He has failed at nearly everything he has ever done. He went from being a seemingly unstoppable monster to becoming one of the most feared men in the promotion but still he struggles...
I will fix that...
Or I will finish breaking him...
I can feel the pulse of the crowd as if it were my own...
The hairs on my neck stand on end as I imagine the pain that is forthcoming...
I smile thinking how glorious this battle will be...
How bloody...
Oh how I have looked forward to this night, the night I get to take the raw piece of clay that was Lex Sense and finally mold him into something useful...
Something dangerous...
Something more than human...
Tonight in front of a live crowd I will finish what may be my greatest creation...
Or my greatest conquest...
Either way...
New Championship Wrestling is not ready for the Nightmare this New Year will bring...
A camera makes it's way up to me, Chad Lights holds a microphone to my face, he'd like to know what I think about what Lex Sense had to say last night...
What do I think?
I think I've heard it all before...
I think you've said it all before...
I think you've run out of mindless threats and meaningless insults...
I think you've sunk to the level of name calling and slander to try and win the upper hand in this battle...
I think the only one here who has fallen is you...
I think Lex Sense has his back up against the wall with no one to help him...
With no where to go...
And the devil staring him directly in the eye...
"You want to know what I think about Lex Sense?"
Chad nods his little head up and down...
"About his 'Sense of Peace'?"
He continues to nod...
"About the 'End of it all'?"
Slowly I take the microphone he holds before me and I turn to face the camera, to metaphorically face Lex Sense just moments before I actually do so...
"I think this will be the end, Lex. However I believe you have over estimated your own ability to end my life and my career. I have spent the last thirteen years of my life in this business, I have faced men and monsters that make you look like a god forsaken kitten with his nails clipped. I have come up against gods in this business and walked away with littler more than a few scratches and burns."
A smile creeps across my face...
"But you have stood your ground better than most and survived everything I've thrown your way with little to no waiver in your quest for redemption. I respect your resolution but I'm sorry to say it will not be your salvation Lex Sense. You will not be saved by hopes and prayers of a better life. The only thing that will save you is giving into your dark side and burying my cold dead body in the ground. You wish to become better but truth be told Lex, there is no light at the end of this tunnel, there will only be more darkness, more regret, more pain. So give in, let go, embrace what you know to be true and become the monster I see in my nightmares..."
I know he sits silently watching in his locker room, cracking his joints and stretching his muscles trying to ignore what I say, but my words go deeper than he thinks...
"There is no peace, Lex, there is no happy ending. There is no way for either of us to ever be more than what we were built for. We were built for war. We were built for death. We were built to survive the worst and give it back. The only true end... Is death... And even in death we will never know peace... Peace is something we are not allowed to achieve... We are not allowed to know... All we know is the moments of silence in between the blood curdling screams of our opponents... So we fight, we bleed and we will love every single soul sucking moment of it... No Peace. No End. No mercy."
I push aside Chad and his camera. The stairs are before me and beyond that is an arena full of thousands of blood thirsty maniacs waiting to witness a war...
A shallow grave waits between the ring and I, between Sense and I...
I imagine what it would feel like to close my eyes for one last time and just let go of this world...
I imagine the pain leaving my body for the last time a I silently suffocated in the earth...
I imagine the peace Lex spoke of...
And I knew...
I could never have it...
I could never know it...
There is no peace for the damned...
"Angel!"
Tara... She's here... I face her and she no longer looks upset or worried... She looks... Cold... Her eyes search mine, mine search hers and I see it... I see myself in them...
"Kill him."
Two simple words when spoken from anyone else would be entirely meaningless to me, but from her, they mean everything...
"Give him his peace and put and end to his beginning."
"I knew you understood."
Her smile rivals the beauty of the Gods as she slowly wraps her fingers in my hair...
"Promise me one thing..."
"Anything."
"Make him scream your name."
When she kisses me I feel the fire inside her, the fire that burns through her skin and warms my cold soul...
I know...
Damned or not...
Tonight I rise...
He shall fall...
And maybe in death Lex Sense will finally...
Rest in Peace.
