We open up to find Mandi Matthews looking through a dress rack in wardrobe. Yes, the same Mandi Matthews that sold Steve Awesome out for a spot on the main roster and out of her menial duties as the costume girl. And the same Mandi Matthews that has still been stuck performing her menial duties as a costume girl and still hasn’t gotten a spot on the main roster. She sighs and hangs a dress on the rack as a voice pops up behind her.
“Hey Mandi….could I pick up the shirt I asked you to wash?”
Mandi turns around to see Kathy Conway standing there with a smile on her face. Mandi gives her a smile back and a nod but when she turns around the smile instantly fades. Not because she didn’t like Kathy or anything, actually she always liked Kathy. She just really disliked her job. Mandi grabs the shirt….had a picture of a kitten on it…..and damn near tosses it at Kathy when she spots Brent Sampson strolling down the hall coming toward her. Mandi bolts past Kathy and toward the head of talent relations.
“Mr. Sampson!”
She runs up behind him.
“Mr. Sampson wait up!”
She finally catches up to him.
“I wanted to talk about being called up to the main roster and-”
Brent spins around on his heels and glares the devil’s glare at her.
“Can’t you see I’m on the phone!?”
He points to a Bluetooth in his ear.
“I have ZERO tolerance for interruptions.”
And with that he walks off, meanwhile, a dejected Mandi Matthews hangs her head and turns around. That’s when she spots Steve Awesome with his arms crossed over his chest.
“So how’s that new wrestling contract working out for you? Is the good life worth selling me out to Sampson?”
Mandi tries to plead her case. But Steve cuts her off before she even gets a word out.
“Forget it…..I was just passing through to talk some sense into Andrew….I don’t want to here anything from you.”
Steve tries to leave but that’s when Brent Sampson pops back into the screen.
“Well Mister Awesome…..glad to see you’ve made it, considering you have a match in five minutes.”
“What?”
Steve says with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes. I took the liberty of booking you in a match against Nathan Webb and Curtis Kanyon and it’s happening in five minutes.”
Steve just scoffs at him.
“I’m not doing that. I’m REEEEEEE……TIREDDDDD! Why don’t people understand this concept?”
Brent steps forward.
“Well I’m just plain tired of hearing you say that, Steven. I make the rules around here…..not you. Your currently under contract with NCW and therefore you compete when I SAY you compete. And for the record….you’ll be competing next week on Collision….AND one on one against Andrew Jacobsen at Sovereign. “
Steve curses under his breath.
“And if I don’t show up?”
Brent smiles, a glimmer of evil in his eye.
“Well I have your address now……you’ll get the court ordered summons in the mail when I sue you for breach of contract..”
Brent glances at his watch.
“You better get out there Steve….your next…..”
And Brent walks away, humming to himself.
Fade on Steve’s glare.
