“Kill your enemies, my brothers dead around me, bones are hurting, death is creeping for me, smoke is blinding, hearts are pounding, chaos’s soon ignites!” – Bullet for my valentine, Scream. Aim. Fire
“Yes I started off with a song. Isn’t that what Joe Everyman does?. Starts with awesome song lyrics to back up the bland and uninteresting promo that’s about to spew forth from his egocentric, delusional little mind where he is, in fact, not a complete burnout?. Come on Joe, let me hear it, let me hear how amazing you are, let me hear how people like Xander are the best but you are that little bit better even though you
have no evidence what so ever to back it up....”
“Tell me again how last week the match didn’t matter and how you went on vacation afterwards for this week. I find that damn insulting Joe. To think you can walk off on some little vacation while I’m in Dallas every day of this week training my ass off for our match. The winner Joe gets a guaranteed National title shot next month. A belt that you seem to have your legacy engraved in, a belt that holds the glory days of Joe Everyman.....”
“Don’t you wish to get that back Joe?. Don’t you want your name to mean something positive again instead of the joke it’s become?. The joke that you have become is so immense that our match isn’t even on A night to remember Joe, it’s on the collision Pre show, and it isn’t even the main event. Hell Andrew Jacobsen made it on A night to remember with his match against that glory hog Will Washington, but we didn’t. And I know it can’t be me, after all the last few months I’ve been on a roll, that last few months with you have been the usual mix of failure and moderate wins.....”
I scoff and shake my head. My eyes hidden behind a pair of sunglasses as I look out across the city of Dallas. My short brown hair spiked up and styles as I have to look good for the camera.
“Contrary to popular belief Joe, I don’t hate you. I never have hated you. I just pity you. I want to free you from this world you’ve created around yourself. You seem to believe that you are some kind of massive superstar, someone who has transcended NCW and wrestling itself to be a household name. But Joe, the sad truth is, you’re a nobody. Your glory days are behind you, you’re about as relevant as air jordans or cassette walkmans, you’re done, it’s over and this is your last shot to do anything of importance and you don’t seem to be taking it seriously.....”
“This is my shot to climb back up there Joe. I have been building momentum for months leading up to this. A shot to become a two time National champion. The second biggest belt in our company. A belt held by some of the best in NCW. And in your case, some of the worst. I know that seems a little harsh Joe, but it’s true. And you know the worst part of this?. It seems to extend to the rest of your family. Your brother Markus seems to be the more talented of the two of you, he just has the attention span of a cracked out baboon.”
“But, let me tell you what is going to happen this weekend Joe. You’re going to come out after getting sand in your vagina over my comments, you’re going to be all angry or depressed depending on if we get “the American nightmare” or the “black heart”
“Then as the fight is sucked from your body by the demons inside your head that tell you how inept you really are I will strike. I am faster than you, smarter than you, better than you Joe. And unlike you, I have the past and the proof to back it up. So before you open your mouth this week let me remind you that sometimes it’s better to show the proper respect.....”
I nod slowly and smile.
“You should respect your betters Joe. After all, if you don’t all it does is show ignorance and impudence on your part. And please, stop me if I’m using words too big for that tiny vanilla brain to understand. I know that you’re not too smart, so I’ll dumb it down as much as I can. Joe respect Alex because Alex is real star, Joe is bootlicker.....”
“One of us Joe, one of us will go on next month to face either Trent Helms or Adam Knite for the National title. Trent is someone who I have always wanted a major match with, someone who I’ve always wanted to throw down against and Adam?. Adam is the king of NCW, a former world champion, a legend and he’s someone I am desperate to face once again. And to get to either of them and that National title, I have to go through you.....”
“How long has it been Joe?. How long have you and I known one another?. Nearly a decade?. And in that time how many times have I held gold?. How many titles?. I was a grandslam champion in another company, I’ve held numerous titles here, I’ve beaten hall of famers, legends and champions, they all fell to my feet and realised that I am one of them. I am their equal. You Joey?. You’re what we call AVERAGE......”
I scoff and shake my head.
“There was a brief period Joe, where you rose above your painful mediocrity and became something great, you became a shining beacon to the heaving masses that an average man could reach heights. You beat the likes of Jack Manson to win the first National title, a small light shining through your pale grey fog of average, then on your third National title reign you finally started becoming something great, you beat the mighty Lance Ryan, and even though two of those matches ended in no contests allowing you to keep that National belt..we’ll ignore it and allow you to keep your honor....”
“But those moments of greatness were three years ago Joe, three years ago.....since then what have you done?. It’s been almost a year Joe, since I last held NCW gold, and truthfully that is way too long, for the better part of the year I’ve been fighting my own personal battles that have had nothing to do with gold. Spike Kane, Adam Knite, Steve Awesome, The Ace, Todd Williams, Mike Laszlo, these are the names I’ve been competing against Joe, these are the men who have been forging their way in NCW. Men who have had titles shots or are champions, men who are some of the best NCW has to offer and I have been standing toe to toe with them for the last year, face it Joe....the man you are today....is outmatched....”
“And I don’t want to hear any sentimental crap about reclaiming who you were and that you’re going to “unleash” the old Joe, cause we all know that Joe Everyman died a long time ago with any self respect you had.....and on Sunday Joe......a mediocre man gets massacred...LIVE ON PAY PER VIEW.....”
