So I guess this is it isn’t it. After a long journey this year’s Night to Remember will feature a match that has almost everyone talking about. A match that will feature one of New Championship Wrestling’s most decorated champions and wrestlers in Ricky Johnson taking on the happy go lucky over the top World Champion in Todd Williams. On paper this is every wrestling Smark’s dream come true, this is what they wanted to see. This isn’t about a golden child or some Hall of Famer trying to just bump their way into this match about how great they are. This is simply about the tale of two men who want to be here fighting for what they believe in, and that thing being the NCW World Championship.
Ricky I will be honest with you, it just doesn’t get better than this does it? You know I could have gone into this feud riding on that high horse, I could have decided to be a follower, and listen to the words about my wife calling you something on the lines of a Choke Artist but you know what Ricky? To me you are much better than that and despite what Christina Rose wants for the first time in my life I am not going to listen to one of the women who likes to control me but I am going to follow my heart, and do my own thing.
I was the one who got here and it will be I who walks into that ring on Sunday. Not Crystal, not Jenny, not my precious Brittany but you are getting Todd Williams in that ring, and in return I know you are going to give me a Ricky Johnson who is more than focused. I know you came up with a lot of analogies during the course of your last promo but I rather think of you and I as being like the Magic Johnson and Larry Bird of our era.
Our encounter started way back in my beginning of becoming an NCW wrestler. I remember it as clear as day it was you and I, and it was back during a time when you didn’t know who Todd Williams was. You had to google me and still couldn’t come up with an answer. However it didn’t mean much because you ended up beating me in that match. Yet that lost wasn’t a setback because I busted my ass and I won the college championship that year, the college championship being my rise to the X Championship.
I thought you were a mere joke, back when I first started you didn’t care about this industry, granted you were a hard worker but your passion just wasn’t in it. I can remember watching some of your half ass promos and they were to be honest meh…
Meanwhile yours truly won the championship he was living life, he was rising to the top and he went on an absolute tear bringing honor to the X Championship until he ran into the wall that is Roberto Verona… But beside that I made the first blow by winning the X Championship and bringing honor to my name yet a few months later when I was fading out you came in with this new passion and you did something I couldn’t do…. You beat Roberto in a high stake match…. And took the National Championship with you…
Where was Todd Williams during your rise?
He was nowhere to be found… Well actually he was contemplating quitting because his heart just didn’t seem in it. My life was in shambles Crystal was on the verge of marrying Steve and although I prevented the marriage I still got my ass kicked that night. Few weeks later I would find out that my wife was pregnant and went on to go through a miscarriage…
I told myself I wanted to quit..
I wanted to just give in…
However at the same time I knew it was “Showtime” that’s what the Lakers called themselves during the 80s just in case you don’t know your common sense history…
I told myself that if I was to get a shot at the World Championship it would be by winning the Riot and making my way to it the hard way. It didn’t look too good for me. I would draw number six, and it just seemed hopefully. I didn’t care though I went into that ring with a purpose…
I don’t know how it happened but somehow I lasted in the ring for over an hour, and it came down to just Lex and I. I tapped into what I have left and I eliminated the seven foot monster and stood tall above everyone.
In one single night I made a dream come true and standing ahead of me was Xander Famularo…
Metamorphosis would be the night that I would make that change from being a Todd that didn’t give a damn to a man who took Xander to his limit. In one on one matches he was unstoppable but yet I found something in me to match him and take him to the distance. I wrestled him to a stunning draw and finally the following month I defeated four men and made this dream come true…
Just like Magic, not only did he win a College championship before Bird but he won an NBA one before him as well. That’s kind of like us isn’t it Ricky? And after winning my World Championship I somehow managed to defeat you a few weeks later and I even the score. Despite me making a name for myself you have also been making a bigger name for yourself becoming the longest reigning National Champion in the history of NCW and winning the Coliseum as well.
I may have been champion before you but it was clear that you have been the focus as of late, while “Showtime” seems to be fading out.
Now here we are. Finally everyone has the chance to see what they want to see. It’s a little rivalry that seems to be revisited. Todd “Showtime” Williams and Ricky “Legend” Johnson one on one in the ring. No matter where I am whether it’s on twitter whether it’s on Xbox Live whether it’s walking in public it seems like Ricky Johnson fans have all come out the woods chanting “Beat Todd Williams…” “Beat Todd Williams” In the same way people were chanting beat LA! Beat LA!
You may very well beat me this time but you need to respect that this is the first of many to come. This is the building of a great rivalry not only between rivals but also respectable friends as well. This is how NCW’s flagship PPV should be.
A match that is built on “AWESOME PROPORTION…”
An epic match that features a contrast of two different styles.
The over the top flashiness of Todd Williams and the true grit of Ricky Johnson.
High Flyer versus Technical Submissionist…
Black versus White…
This match has so much meaning to it we need to go out there and just put on the greatest match that we possibly can.
I respect you a lot… You know I do Ricky…. But this match isn’t about a conspiracy it’s not about shouting my name that I mean business, it’s about leaving all of our blood, all of our sweat, and every single tear inside of that ring.
I know they say opposites attract and I can’t but agree. Win or lose I know you will go into the Hall of Fame, you have done so much for this company it’s hard to not be a Ricky Johnson fan but let me make something clear… I am looking to further establish my reign… this is my time to shine and I will try my best to shine above you. So get ready for a dose of flashiness because this Todd Williams is about to show you that it’s showtime…
So watch out Ricky because you will get to see Todd work his “MAGIC” ok Mr. “Johnson”. Consider this our game seven and everything is on the line…
Our scene opens up and this time we find ourselves in Long Island, New York and to be more precise in the home of Todd Williams. It is there where we are able to see our World Champion playing video games with his little daughter. Any other time Todd could be seen being overly competitive trying his best to just embarrass anyone that comes in front of him, but today he is letting his daughter kick his butt in a video game, we have no idea on what they are playing and to be honest it’s not really important. The only thing that matters is the time that the two are sharing with one another. Brittany jumps and down excitedly as she looks back at her father. Todd just glances back as her as she begins to speak.
Brittany: Ha… I so beat you dad! I told you I am starting to get better than you in video games… But did you expect to win against this reflection of perfection? When you are good you are good, but when you are the best you are me!
Todd just offers a slight grin as he eyeballs his daughter. He stares at her from head to toe and couldn’t help but think to himself. She was the spitting image of Crystal but at the same time had that Todd and Crystal personality about her. Todd doesn’t say anything as he keeps staring at her and Brittany just places her hands on her hips as she keeps her eyes focused on her father.
Brittany: Um dad why are you like staring at me? Do I have something on my face… Is my hair messed up because if I have to sit through hours of getting my hair done with mommy again I am going to be so angry and pwn some noobs. Perfection should never have to deal with anything that’s not perfect!
Todd just smirks as he shakes her head at her before replying back.
Todd: It’s not that pumpkin, it’s just daddy is doing some thinking. Mommy and Daddy had you when they were only 15 and 16. It was such a young age for us and I know you really haven’t had the best that life has to offer. Both mommy and daddy can be immature at times, and they always seem to be fighting. It just makes me smile no matter how we are you have grown up to be a fine lady, and I really am happy to be your father. I may not be the best dad but I really am trying.. I just want you to know that…
Brittany just looks back at her father and offers him a smirk.
Brittany: Listen dad, you are the best daddy in the world. Don’t beat yourself up you are making me happy. You accomplished a dream, you won your championship and you made up with mommy. You already make me smile and I am very happy you are my dad…
Todd sighs as he shakes his head but continues to speak.
Todd: I really don’t think that’s true let’s face it Brittany. Right now my family is in shambles. You have mommy and your Auntie Jenny just wanting to kill each other. If I was such a great father and family man why is it that everything about my family always seems to be a joke. Why is it that everyone wants to look at me and just laugh at me. No one takes me serious and sometimes it just gets me down. I don’t know what to do sometimes…
Brittany places her hands on her hips as she takes a seat beside Todd as she rests her head on him.
Brittany: Believe in your dreams… At least that’s what you told me. Things may not always go the way you want it and when that happens you need to have a dream and try your best to accomplish it. As long as you aim for a goal you always have something to look forward too. Never keep your head down but always keep it high above your head. Isn’t that what you always tell me dad? Make a dream and try to make it a reality… So why don’t you do that?”
Todd can’t help but let a few tears roll down his cheek as he smirks at his daughter.
Todd: You are right…
Brittany: Besides daddy seems to be doing good, Jenny and mommy may be fighting, but Auntie Jenny is so much happier since you let her see Uncle Xander, and mommy is happy having you to defend her all the time… You are doing really good I never seen mommy smile so much… well she did smile with that Steve man with the nice abs, but you are making her smile even more. Sometimes at night I can hear her screaming your name loud… She must really love you…
Todd smirks as he holds Brittany as he pulls her in close for a huge hug.
Todd: Thank you Brittany, I really needed that. You don’t understand how much that means to me…
Brittany: No problem daddy… Now can we play more games… I want to kick your butt again…
Todd: whatever you want pumpkin but this time I won’t go easy on you…
Brittany smirks and the father and daughter duo begin to play more video games together and it is on this image that we fade out on.
Ricky I know you probably think this is some kind of game to me, and normally I would be the first to come out with some video game reference and try to apply it to the match just to make it seem relevant but this match isn’t about a game. This match is supposed to leave people in awe and making them realize that the night of our match will indeed be A NIGHT TO REMEMBER…
Besides a video game reference against you wouldn’t really work because every time we have matched up in a video game you always have seemed to take my Thunder. In Madden you can absolutely destroy me without hesitation. You can run up the score and beat me like 74 to like 14. That’s how good you are, or if this was Call of Duty it would be you carrying the team with the highest Kill and Death Ratio for the team while I am left trying to play catch up.
Everything about me or phrases that I made seem cool were presented by you first but me trying to take it and claim it as my own. “I would love to stay but I Got’s to Go” being the prime one followed by “Don’t take this ass whopping personally”.
I will admit it and come to the realization that you are better than me in the gaming world. I may never measure up to being what you are but there will be a time where I will finally get that win, that long win that I been waiting for will finally come my way.
That’s the moment that I am waiting for Ricky and a Night To Remember seems like the perfect place to live that moment out.
In addition to video games you also seem to be a better family man than I am. I am really trying to be there for Crystal and there for my Brittany, but the relationship between you and Roxi seems so perfect whereas Crystal and I always seems like two of us are walking down a narrow road, and at any point one of us may go off the course.
That’s how it always feels. There’s no doubt in my mind that when Roxi has her child you will be an outstanding father. I am ok in my standards but nothing to what you are.
However this match won’t be dictated by the questions on who is the better family man? Or who is the better gamer but it will be dictated by who is the better wrestler between the two of us?
I would like to think that man is me Ricky. I will admit you deserve to be here after all you lasted in a Coliseum against five other men, but I had to go basically almost the entire roster in one match to get my chance.
I had to step in the ring with an unstoppable force who happens to be an immovable object…
I had to deal with it all, and if for one second you don’t think I am playing for keeps.
If for one second you don’t think I want this win more than ever, than you have another thing coming.
I need this match Ricky, I need this badly. This is more than a match…
This is about survival and I think I have what it takes to survive.
So go ahead and bring your worst because I will give everything I have to beat you…
This is your third chance at the strap and despite you wanting to hit a home run I need to strike you out…
The legacy of Todd needs to live on… and this dream needs to continue…
You believe in dreams don’t you? Because I know I certainly do…
A Night to Remember will not just be another epic night in professional wrestling but it will also be the night where dreams come true… My dreams, and I will try my damn hardest to make it become a reality…
The dream of perhaps being the greatest World Champion in NCW history…
You believe it don’t you?
Well I at least do… and at the end of the day that’s all that really matters…
It’s time to keep the dream alive baby!!!!!
Ricky I will be honest with you, it just doesn’t get better than this does it? You know I could have gone into this feud riding on that high horse, I could have decided to be a follower, and listen to the words about my wife calling you something on the lines of a Choke Artist but you know what Ricky?
