I’m so sick of Kelly Fox.
I’m so sick of hearing about you... for years it was all Adam talked about, for years it was all I heard while learning the business, it was everything drilled into my head, you were supposed to be larger than life, you were supposed to be something special, but to me... you were nothing but a pain in the butt, nothing but an annoyance.
Just admit it, you never respected me, you never cared about me, I was always a burden on you, you never accepted me when Adam rescued me from his father, you never accepted the little beat up girl who was malnourished, and mistreated... you were just worried that I was going to alter your alone time with Adam, thought I was going to take some attention away from you because he was going to have to train me and take care of me, make sure I didn’t die... but you didn’t care. You always called me a nuisance, you always called me a whiner, called me... called me... It doesn’t matter anymore..
What does matter is that I’ve finally proven that I can make it without anybody else, not you, not even Adam. I got to the head of Velez Industries without any of your help, without listening to you tell me how to react like a real woman, without listening to you about how I should conduct myself. I never fit your style did I Kelly? I was never the little sister you thought I would be was I? You thought you were going to doll me up, do my hair, maybe teach me how to shave my legs or something but instead I was playing video games, I was eating nachos and I was sporting my long bangs and you couldn’t stand it.
Did you even care about what kind of situation Adam took me from? Did you ever care that I wasn’t normal for a reason or was it just because you were trying to fit my round peg into the square hole and it frustrated you that it never worked. But you know, this was never about wanting your respect before now or wanting you as a big sister...
It was...
nevermind...
You were supposed to be happy about what I did to your father, i thought it was what you would do in the same situation, I thought it was exactly what the great Kelly Fox would have done. She wouldn’t have let somebody demand to see her goods or be fired, she wouldn’t allow somebody to push her around, she wouldn’t let somebody rule her life like that if it was something that she really wanted. You were supposed to thank me, you were supposed to join the Hierarchy, you were supposed to stand up and be my friend, my sister, my family but instead you resented me, after everything that goomba did to me, you... you despised me for standing up for myself.
I’m sorry I never lived up to your expectations Kelly, i’m sorry that I was never the good little girly cheerleader you wanted me to be, but I can’t control the things I learned, I can’t control how I was raised and I learned to cope with it. I’m sorry that I hurt you, but it’s about time I proved myself to you once and for all, and I will do so by ripping your company away. You’ll respect me when this is all said and done, you will see me as your equal because I walked in there and pwned you and took your milk money as well.
This is my story, the story of the young girl who grew up in a broken household, no mother and a father who was abusive and bit too touchy at times. The girl who was on the brink of ending her own life before she was pulled from the situation and given a second chance to make something of herself. The final chapters are going to read about how she took down one of the richest families in the world, taking what they held dearest to their hearts, the whole time doing it her way.
I’m going to tear down your entire legacy and rebuild it in my image...
because this is my legend.
[Zelda stands her locker room standing in front of the mirror staring at herself in her wrestling gear. She is taking deep breaths as she thinks about the upcoming match and what it means for her life. Her stare however goes down to the small silver cross on the old beaten up strip of leather that she always wears, a trinket from her mother... a momento that she never lets leave her side. Zelda reaches up and takes it in her hand and closes her eyes.]
Adam: Shd’ be proud.
[Adam puts his hand on Zelda’s shoulder, he walked in without her noticing because she was so focused on getting ready for this match. Zelda’s eyes pop open and she smiles at the sight of her brother in the mirror.]
Zelda: Do you think so?
Adam: I know so.
Zelda: And you?
Adam: I couldn’t begin to describe how honored I am to have you as my little sister. I don’t know what I would have done if you would have... you know.
Zelda: I’m glad you saved my life too... and now it’s the time I made the most of the second chance.
Adam: Just don’t get hurt.
Zelda: You should be more worried about your wife.
Adam: I’m worried about both of you... but I can’t show it, so... just good luck.
Zelda: I don’t need luck. I’m going to tear her down... stomp on her head like the goomba she is. I won’t fail... I won’t. I can’t.
[Adam stares at his sister uneasily as she closes her eyes again, clutching the necklace to her chest as we fade to black.]
