The scene opens with Markus Reeves and Fergus Callaghan sitting on the couch watching TV when all of a sudden the door bell rings. Markus stands up and walks to the door and the bell rings again and Markus opens it. Outside is a police officer.

Officer: Are you Markus Reeves?
Markus Reeves: I am.
Officer: I have some news. It is from Japan and about your son.
Markus Reeves: What about him?
Officer: Well he was arrested over there for fraud.
Markus Reeves: And?
Officer: Well he isn't actually your son.
Markus Reeves: But I had a paternity test done.
Officer: We also arrested that doctor. He was in on the fraud. Your "sons" real name is Taka Shiokawa. He is the son of Shiori Shiokawa who you have fathered a child with. This child's father is someone else that isn't you. Miyoko is your child and Taka hired the doctor to fake paternity results so that he could extort you.
Markus Reeves: Jesus Christ, I can't believe this.
Officer: Did you give him any money?
Markus Reeves: I gave him, probably a couple hundred thousand dollars. Am I going to be able to recover that money?
Officer: Quite possibly but you will probably have to sue him once we bring him back to the United States. I'm following up on reports that this individual has tried to extort people all over the United States.
Markus Reeves: Damn, well thank you for informing me. I'll make sure I get into touch with federal authorities when I get back into town.
Officer: Alright, here is a card, you can get into touch with a federal agent when you get back into town. Have a good day sir.
Markus Reeves: Thank you also.
The cop leaves and Markus closes the door. Miyoko walks in

Miyoko Reeves: Who was that daddy?
Markus Reeves: A cop.
Miyoko Reeves: Dad, whatever he said I didn't do it.
Markus Reeves: It wasn't about you, do you have a guilty conscience about something?
Miyoko Reeves: Uh....no. What did the police officer want?
Markus Reeves: To tell me that your brother was extorting me. Can't believe I gave that little bastard that much money.
Miyoko Reeves: How much did you give him?
Markus Reeves: Couple hundred thousand dollars.
Fergus spits his drink out

Fergus Callaghan: You really gave him that much money?
Markus Reeves: Yeah, but when you think he is your son you feel willing to do whatever to help them.
Fergus Callaghan: I guess that makes sense.
Markus Reeves: Yeah, and more importantly I'm going to be able to little bastard for everything he is worth. Probably will be able to get more money since he tried to use my name to profit too. Dirty little scum bag is going to pay.
Miyoko Reeves: Be nice dad.
Markus Reeves: Not this time...
