As a true fan of the fighting game genre I am pleased to announce the latest from Netherrealm studios. This new Mortal Kombat promises to take the game back to it's roots. Returning to an improved 2d format similar to Street Fighter IV and new fatality system including brutalities (rumor has it). Ed Boon has promised this game to be more gruesome then any Mortal Kombat yet and from the visuals of it, it looks like this could be a remake of the original three games or at least a reimagining. While MK9 (renamed just Mortal Kombat at this point) has been announced for some time the trailer was released at E3 indicating it will be ready for release soon. The trailer is said to contain actual in game footage and it promises to be a beast of a game. For the benefit of others here is the trailer...

I recognize most of these characters but there is one who has a word written on his chest I don't recognize. Baldish kind of Johnny Cage character

He has Johnny tattooed on his chest and a belt buckle that says "Cage"....kind of stupid if you ask me.

Only reason I was confused was because you see the classic style Johnny Cage too. Maybe its just an alternate costume I didn't pick up on

Roster - Amazing
Gameplay - Solid
Graphics - Beautiful
Sound - Not Half Bad
Toasty - Present
M Rating - Also Very Present
Story Mode - Haven't Played it Yet
Challenge Tower - Also Untested but both Sound promising
Noob Saibot - Cheap As Ever if Not Cheaper
Me and a few friends went to the midnight release and picked our two copies up, one for the X-Box and one for the PS3. Needless to say I had work and they had school so we're going to play it today. My one complaint is that everyone and their mother has a throne in this game...
I want a throne....
