So yeah, I'm building a Zelda-Like game with heavy RPG/MMO aspects(including multiplayer(I severely doubt MMO status, more like Diablo 2 probably)). I wanted to get a thread here on DF to bounce some ideas and see if anyone would take any interest.
As of right now, the controls are in place for basic movement and a single action button, but I intend for there to be 9 buttons used for movement(including a special movement button for jumping/dodging/whatever else) and 8 buttons for hotkeyed actions including attacks, spells, and other vital skills(and even Zelda Styled Secondary Weapons). The number keys 1-8 will be used to hotkey these skills by opening the menus for them(while associating the item selected with the button attached to the number).
Exploration, NPC Interaction, World Size and variation are all considered extremely important to me and as such I've decided that in addition to dungeons, there will be (of course) an Overworld, an Underworld, a Sky World, a Heaven and a Hell Worlds for which you can travel from one to the other by way of portals or spells. Of course this will take time and the order with which they are written here is the order with which they will be developed. Likewise, should it be necessary, I'll be making more(but with Dungeons I doubt it).
One thing I thing is absolutely vital is Character customization and as such I have planned the building of a character object set that should allow such. I'm working out the details in my head and so far so good. Actual implementation will probably kill my enthusiasm.
The Alpha version of the game is under development and will be a single player recreation of a small section of Zelda 1, the first Zelda 1 Dungeon, and a custom Dungeon. The Player will be given the Blue Boomerang, Bombs, The Bow, The Health Potion(Hopefully refillable), and four as of yet questionable spells/skills that I came up with or built in to it to test them). I hope to test a lot of stuff with the Alpha. Beyond that I'll decide what to do with the Beta.

I'll be making Mockups to give an Idea of what I'd like to accomplish and be releasing pics of actual development at a later date. Videos will be released potentially. Not sure yet
