"Jason Ebony is a name you will never forget.
I am the man of the hour. The one and only gift to wrestling. Most of you laugh at the thought but if it were not true, then why would I be one half of the "Tribal" Tag Team Champions. I'm also the guy that managed to get a pinfall victory over Team America by pinning El Nacho Loco without any help from The Forgotten, which have been forgotten. You need a hero? Look no further than Ebony & Ivory.
We are the best high flying showmen out there, no doubt.
Step in the ring with us and we gonna give it to you. You can't stop what you can't catch and this Sunday at Picture Perfect, them cameras will be flashing thousand times a minute catching the epic factor we bring to the table. People will celebrate in the streets when my bru, Tafari and I take it to them non-Mexican rat bastards. They think this is some kind of joke but we're not the joking kind.
We're the take what we need to survive kind.
This belt represents everything we've had to do in this life to survive. They may just be trinkets with little worth to the world but to us, it MEANS the world. If two bozos in masks can find these in a closet and then claim them as their own, why can't we? What's to stop us from making these belts mean something?
The answer is nothing.
Nothing will stop us.
Best believe that."
~Our first pay per view, it was only a matter of time. Shame we're not in the main event but we take what we can get and run with it. The ball is never dropped in our hands. Nothing gets in our way. Not even these jumping jacks I'm currently dominating.~
Ebony: 998,... 999,... 1,000!... THAT'S RIGHT! THAT'S HOW YOU GET THINGS DONE!!
~My shouts echo throughout this gym. People turn and stare, not that they weren't doing that anyway. it's hard to look away when you're in the presence of greatness... And by greatness I mean me... Because I'm great... Great.~
Ebony: Y'all can turn away now. No need to drool at something you can never achieve... Perfection.
~I get a few dirty looks. I call that jealousy. Some people claim that I have nothing to be proud about. I beg to differ. Just take a look at the gold hanging off my shoulder and I think you will agree. I leave the gym and head for the showers. I've wasted enough time with the peasants and if my father taught me anything it's this, spend enough time with those beneath you to think you're equal when clearly they're not. Once I hit the locker room, I find my brother talking on his phone.~
Ivory: Yes, I know Imani... No, we will not be going home anytime soon... You need to take care of them, Imani. You're the only man to do this job... I must go. Take care.
~He hangs up the phone and I can tell he's homesick. We've never been away from Africa for as long as we have but I say good riddance. We need room to spread our wings and fly and to be honest, we've outgrown Africa.~
Ivory: They miss us. I miss them.
Ebony: You can not be feeling like this. You need to concentrate on this match.
Ivory: I am. We've just never been gone this long.
Ebony: We're not missing much.
Ivory: You don't mean that.
Ebony: I do.
~I put my title on the bench next to Tafari and leave to get dress to get out of this dump as soon as possible. This weekend, we face Cabeza del Queso in a Tijuana Rules Tribal Stick on a Pole match and I plan to walk out with both belts.
Can you dig it.~
-I Can't believe Ebony just said that. There was a time when being African meant everything to us but I fear he is forgetting where he came from. Lost in the shuffle of American living. I look at the belt my brother leaves at my side. It seems rather silly that four men are fighting over these belts. The retired Starlet's Tag Team belts with a piece of tape over its former name. I guess these belts use to mean something but nowadays their meaning exists in the mind of four men trying to make a name for themselves. That's what I want around here. A name instead of just a stereotype. I can't help but think we aren't helping the cause by acting the way we've been acting.
I guess it's better than doing nothing.-
Jayson Matthews: TIME TO GO WORK, SON!
-The man comes out of nowhere and dives at the belt. I lift it before he could get a hand on it and he goes sliding across the bench before crashing into a locker. I chuckle at the sight but the man is resilient as he stands, dust himself off and calmly walks towards me.-
Jayson Matthews: Sorry about that. I know I've been a little abrasive but I hope we can come to an understanding, LOOK OVER THERE!
-He points, I look. Stupid, I know but he caught me off-guard as he snatches the belt from my hand and runs as fast as he can around the locker room. I give chase. I don't even know why but he's trying to take my brother's belt and I wont allow anything to be taken from my family, so I chase him.-
Jayson Matthews: Run, run as fast as you can but you'll never catch the Gingerbread Man!
-The man is fast. He catches a break and heads for the locker room door but as he's about to exit, the door swings open and crashes into his face. The belt goes flying into the air and right into my arms as he falls on his ass. He holds his face in pain as my brother comes back, dressed to leave this place.-
Ebony: Not this guy again.
Ivory: Yes, and he almost got away.
Ebony: No way! He tricked you, bru?!
Ivory: Let's just go.
Ebony: Hahahahahahah...
-He laughs as we exit, leaving the man on the floor as we go to our next destination, Picture Perfect.-
"Tafari Ivory is a name that will be remembered.
I hope to do great things and inspire others to do the same. In my country, we need more beacons of light and I plan to be one that shines not only for my people but for the rest of the world as well. Last week, we got to participate in a match that involved hall of famers and champions and it was a pivotal moment in my career. Truly inspiring. We fought as hard as we could and in the end we pulled out the victory.
It doesn't get any better than that.
I was honored to have been considered for that match and I'm even more honored to be booked in our first nCw pay per view. Ebony & Ivory have been to many shows but none of this magnitude. I feel like we've finally hit the big time and we face a team that have been at our throats for a couple of months. Not really sure how this started but it did and now we head to the ending.
But fear not, with every ending comes new beginnings and from your loss you may be able to gather yourselves and come back stronger than ever.
I only hope I make my partner, my opponents and the audience proud by going out there and giving my all. Belts are on the line... Sort of. Not really sure myself how that works but the match is set and I plan to help my brother win it. It's the beginning of great things for both of our teams and I promise that if you lose, a rematch is waiting in the wings.
Cabeza del Queso and Ebony & Ivory both want this win but unfortunately only one of us can have it.
In the end, Ebony & Ivory will pull through because we have belief and in this business...
You gotta have faith."
