Spike TV Season 2 Episode 2: The Female of the Species....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well it seems that questioning Kelly Knite does not do wonders for your career. Our wonderous owner feels completeley justified in her actions, and made no attempt to suffer the pleas from the likes of myself and Roberto Verona. It's a shame really, because the people who stood by Kelly are now getting crapped on, but hey...as they say, this ain't ballet. This is wrestling.
This last week we had some amazing wrestling matches for you guys and we saw the evolution of where things will be going leading up to the PPV that YOU the fans have chosen, A New Dawn!
Alex Jones Vs Charlie Velez– These two go back, way back, for as long as I've know AJ, I've known Charlie too. The main event was the rightful place for these two outstanding performers to lock up, and the match did not disappoint at all. Both men have been on a tear over the last few months, and it's only a matter of time before one of them stakes their claim for the world heavyweight championship.
Lex Sense and Kelly Knite Vs Spike Kane and Alysson Gardner– Do I really need to explain why this get this award after that debacle. It's bad enough that my wife and I have to take on the monster that retired my brother and one mean ass b*tch with a power complex? It wasn't our moment to shine, and I take full responsiblility, I should have made our honeymoon match better than that,
Roberto Verona back to winning ways in amazing form taking down a Hall of Famer.
Ricky Johnson getting a small measure of revenge on Kelly.
The “Good Doctor” picking up a win, no not Jonas Potter, the other one.
Our starlets actually having wrestling matches.
Todd Williams is gone, for good! Yes! → This is staying for a while, let it sink in and enjoy it.
Xavier Cross is back baby!!
DAVE FREAKIN' HOLLAND IS BACK!!! Ok, it's not in the ring, but DAVE FREAKIN' HOLLAND!!!!
Kelly Knite continuing her dastardly ways.
Trent Helms trying yet another power play, and failing.....again.
Kelly refusing to listen to advice.
Adam Knite's seriously over the top bragging.
Jenny Williams won again.
That low blow seriously hurt Kelly, how could you?
Kelly Knite. Damn you Kelly. Damn you.
My version of the fab five. The five people who stood out this last week.
5: KELLY KNITE: As much as I despise how she is acting and the way she is going about things, you cannot deny that Kelly is getting things done! She has an agenda and is trying to make us believe it is in nCw's best interest. I can only hope....
4: JENNY WILLIAMS: I guess she can stay here, she fluked her way to another victory. God, I hate you.
3: CHARLIE VELEZ Velez is damn good, and he'll be happy to tell you all about it. The match between himself and AJ in the Collision Main Event won match of the week, and deservedly so. Velez is a man on a mission, and it's just a matter of time...
2: KEN DAVISON Ken has been on quite the roll lately defeating Mike Laszlo not once, but twice, taking away the X Championship after such an epic reign. This week he toppled the might Kanyon in th Trauma Main Event and came out on top, big things ahead for this guy.
1: DAVE HOLLAND: I know he's not wrestling right now, but admit it. Every single one of you flipped out when you saw that Kelly had brought back Diamond Dave Holland to commentate for Collision. Smart move, because I don't see the downside besides not having Dave IN the ring.
Straight Shootin' With Roberto Verona
=============[/center]
Spike: Welcome to Straight Shootin' the part of Spike TV where we get down and dirty with the roster members of nCw and sift through the crap, to find the truth! This week please welcome back, Roberto Verona!
Roberto: Thanks for having me.
Spike : So Roberto, last month you fought in what was your very first chance to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. How did that feel?
Roberto : I’d worked my ass off to get a shot at that title and without wanting to sound overly clichéd about it, it is the pinnacle of a wrestler’s career. Ask any guys what is the one thing they want to do and it is to compete for that belt and I don’t care if you’ve already won it before and like to tell everyone you don’t need to prove anything, if I offered you the chance to compete for that belt you’d snap my hand off.
Spike: Naturally!
It was the greatest feeling in the world to be the number one contender, not only because I felt vindicated for everything I had put into my career but also because I earned my opportunity the hard way by putting away a guy who was unbeatable.
Of course, my joy was short lived.
Spike : Losing to Ricky seemed to have quite an effect on your career and has seen you lose an uncharacteristic number of matches, can you shed any light on this?
Roberto : Losing to Ricky Johnson completely knocked the wind out of my sails, there is no two ways about it choking on the biggest stage of my career killed me inside. The truth is, it downright pissed me off not because I lost, but because I gave such a piss poor showing doing so. I am not talking about in the ring but out of it.
I just spent weeks coasting along before my big night and I lost the spark that had taken me to the top of the pile and when the match came, I had absolutely nothing. Ricky Johnson outclassed me in front of that camera and I had nothing but weak hyperbole and bull**** in response and as a man who prides himself on his ability to cut a promo with some level of lucidity the quality of most of them leading up to and before the match was so below what I accept as a standard for myself.
I had burned out, I went through hell to get that shot and frankly, when the spotlight was all on Ricky and his glorious swan song I just began to fade and I lost my spark because I finally got a chance to stop and sit back and contemplate a few things.
Spike : With Picture Perfect having just passed, what was the deal with you not being booked? Do you feel you are being underutilised in nCw?
Roberto : You’d have to ask the booking committee, although I suspect the fact I had made such an abject failure of my shot at the big boy’s spot gave the guys whose cages I have been rattling for months the excuse they were looking for to put a stop to my rise to the top. Let’s just say you see things from a new perspective when you go from headlining a pay-per-view to sitting on your ass at home a month later without any physical problems preventing your attendance.
As far as being underutilised? Perhaps, there are only so many spots to fill and when you run your mouth off like I do you run the risk of being left on the side-lines. Kelly made it clear she wants to make me do a little run from obscurity to the top again, but all I can say is I will put away anybody she puts in the way.
Spike : Where do you think you should be right now?
Roberto : Certainly not on my back like some sort of joke getting wiped out by the senior Famularo after I put away the thoroughbred. Listen, I may have seen the error of my ways recently but you know full well Spike that I am not the sort of guy to go bitching about how I should be number one and that it is a joke that I am not on every billboard.
Do I want to be the man? You’re damn right I do, my peers don’t wax lyrical about how *** damn good I am for a laugh as it isn’t in their interest to paint me as such a force in this industry, its basic wrestling 101.
Here’s the facts, I have wasted my time working hard to improve the situations of others whilst my own deteriorates and suffers as a result and I am sick of it. I will be the man in this company because from now on, I am not in it for the self-serving brood of jerk offs who sat and watched by bust my ass for them whilst sitting on their hands.
I am in this business for me and if I have to piss off a few people along the way, so be it. I will make sure they don’t have a choice but to plaster me over everything this company sells.
Spike : Your attitude has certainly changed since your defeat to Ricky.
Roberto : Sure. When the person you love stares you straight in the eyes and asks you why you’re risking breaking your neck for people who don’t care about you then things become a whole lot clearer. I always knew people didn’t like me, they just thought I was a pompous, arrogant jackass and those who felt differently rarely got off their asses to help themselves by getting behind everything I was doing. I just always used to believe that everything I was doing was worthwhile because it was the right thing to do.
Now I see that the people I was fighting for don’t deserve my martyrdom and quite frankly, if I am going to break my neck I am going to do it for me, not for them. The fans respect me and what I do, perhaps this will make them boo me but I do not hold any hatred towards them.
Spike : So you’re revolution is over?
Roberto : A revolution is coming, but it will not be for other people’s benefit anymore. This will be a revolution of my career now, some might even say a resurrection. Those who wanted change can ask themselves, why did I do nothing to facilitate it?
Spike : What are your thoughts on Trent Helms getting a title shot, seemingly out of nowhere?
Roberto : It seemed quite bizarre at the time, I’ll be blunt Trent blows hot and cold, even if his hot is very good, and to utilise him as some sort of secret weapon to get the belt off Ricky just seemed risky and frankly as I was getting kicked in the balls by Charlie Velez I realised how far I had sunk off the radar. Then it made perfect sense.
Trent did what Trent does best. He busted his ass and worked Ricky Johnson to the bone, sure he lost but it’s become pretty apparent that the “ultimate scheme” was never for Trent to win the belt and if he did, fantastic. He was just a pawn to wear down Ricky Johnson enough for Xander to earn the easiest meal of his career.
Spike : Kelly seems to have been pretty short with you lately, most recently just last week, how do you feel about that?
Roberto : Kelly forgets who placed her on throne and if she wants to make my career difficult, I will make her life difficult. If she wants to play games, that is her prerogative but I am done playing, I really don’t care if she throws her little hell hound or masked tramp at me or not, I want what’s best for my career and as long as she is at odds with that, I will be a problem that doesn’t just go away. She can work with me or against me, it is really a matter of how easy she wants to make her own life.
Oh, and how much money she’d like to make.
