Open to the shaky footage of a handheld camera. It doesn't catch much. A few shadows in the background of a trashed and compact apartment. But more importantly, the disheartening glare of Brent Sampson sitting dead center. He was sporting a small beard now and his usual clean cut hair style was getting long overdue for a trim. And his eyes gazed into the camera like a child playing with fire.
"Do you ever stop and wonder.....where it all began? Where the proverbial "spark" truly ignited for you? When you finally just knew what you had to do in life? You know, I've been trying to put my finger on it but for the life of me I just cant seem to narrow it down. I mean it should be simple, you know? But you see I think it's a bit more complicated then that for me, i think i've always knew, maybe not always, but for a lot longer then i was willing to admit, what it was I needed to do I was just to scared to actually do it. I don't know...."
He shrugs his shoulders and laughs. Modestly tossing his musings to the side as if they weren't important.
"...just something I had been thinking about lately...."
He looks away from the camera.
"...I've had alot of time to think lately...."
He slowly turns his attention back toward the camera placed in front of him. He brings with him a look of irritation.
"..what with my unceremonious firing from New Championship Wrestling....a place I devoted everything too....took the side of some over grown frat boy and cast me out like I gave them nothing. I have a long time to stew over this inside this rediculous apartment, what my life has been reduced too thanks to Kelly Knite, Steve Awesome and the rest of the people that call themselves decision makers in this horrible company. They fired me for trying to do my job, and now I'm left with absolutely NOTHING!"
He drills a closed fist into the wooden table he was positioned at. The violent outburst seemed to release some of his inner stress or at the very least got him back to the breaking point instead of over it. He takes a few deeps breaths and then calms himself down again.
"You know, I remember the happiest day of my life. The day where I think I truly felt the happiest I'd ever felt ever. It's sort of ironic too. It wasn't the day I graduated college, or the day I married my wife, Gloria or the birth of my two daughters. It was something else entirely.....

We open up to a beautiful home inside a dining room. The sun had just finished rising and it was casting a warm glow over the breakfast table. It showed all the makings of a well balanced breakfast. Eggs, sausage, pancakes, and even a grapefruit. Two little girls, one who was about three years old and in curls and the other, around nine and had braces, stared in awe at the food presented to them by there beautiful brunette mother.
Gloria Sampson: Stephanie, eat up before the school bus comes.
The nine year old nods her head and starts fixing herself a plate.
Stephanie Sampson: Okay mom.
Gloria cuts up some breakfast and puts it in front of the three year old.
Gloria Sampson: Be a big girl Alaina and eat this sausage for mommy, and Steph, save some for your father.
Stephanie looks up from the scrambled eggs pan and at her mother.
Stephanie Sampson: I don't think dad's eating...."
Gloria looks up confused in the direction of where her husband Brent would normally sit, and sure enough she saw the giant newspaper spread out vertically on the table like it was every morning. But instead of the typical "hmm microsoft went up again, or "I didn't know vin diesel was gay!" or any other revelations of the daily news, all she herd was snoring. She walks right over to her husband's chair and rips the newspaper out of his hands. There he was, sleeping!
Gloria Sampson: BRENT SAMPSON! WAKE UP THIS INSTANT!"
She rolls up the newspaper and whacks him over the head and Brent wakes up startled and flustered.
Brent Sampson: HUH!? WAH!? GAH!? I'm up! I'm up!
Brent looks around at his giggling daughters and his concerned wife.
Gloria Sampson: Brent....do you want to tell us why your currently drooling on the breakfast table?
Brent looks at his smiling children and his wife who was trying her hardest to keep a straight face herself and he couldn't help but find it funny himself.
Brent Sampson: Well I've just been worrying alot about the NCW job...and I couldn't sleep last night.
Gloria pulls out the chair next to him and puts her hand on his back and rubs it up and down.
Gloria Sampson: Honey....don't stress out so much over this.
Brent Sampson: but I want to be able to give you the life you and the kids deserve. This NCW job would do that and then some!
Gloria Sampson: Brent, you have a great knowledge for the wrestling business. Leonard Fox would have to be an idiot not to see the talent you'd bring to the table.
Stephanie Sampson: Yeah dad...you're practically a shoe-in.
Brent looks around at his family all smiling at him. It was a hallmark moment. Perfect in almost every way. Perhaps....too perfect. He slides his chair against the linoleum floor and shoots up out of his seat.
Brent Sampson: You guys are just saying that....I know it.
Gloria Sampson: Brent!
Brent starts to pace back and forth.
Brent Sampson: If I don't get this job then I let you and the kids down Gloria.
Gloria tries to reason with him.
Gloria Sampson: Brent, calm down. This job is going to be the death of you!
And that's when the phone rang....everybody looks at it and Brent walks over to it and picks it up.
Brent Sampson: Hello?
His eyes light up.
Brent Sampson; Yes this is him!
His jaw drops. He almost forgets to speak.
Brent Sampson; Th....th....thank you Mister Fox....you won't regret this decision.....

Back to the small, dirty apartment. Sampson glares into the lens of the small camera with such disdain.
"That was the happiest day of my life. They day I could look my family in the eyes and tell them that there father and husband was not a failure. Little did I know this job would suck every last ounce of happiness straight out of my soul. And once it was done doing that......they took my soul too....just for good measure. And now.....I'm coming to get it all back. My soul, my happiness, my life! I'm coming to take all that away from NCW, from all the people that work for NCW, for all the people even associated with this company, I'm going to take away there livelihood. Why?"
He shrugs his shoulders and stares into the camera, as if the answer should be clear as day.
"Because it makes me feel better. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction that I haven't felt in quite some time! It makes me a little happy in the pants folks..... Watching Zero rip apart his opponents the way he does, making them suffer the way he does.....it makes me feel so ALIVE! That's what Zero Tolerance is. He is my answer. He is the man that is going to forge the path to my goal, the man who is going to break every single poor unfortuneate soul that gets in my way into nothing! He has no reason to speak, no reason to be anywhere but inside the ring where he is allowed to be the wild animal he truly is."
"Last week we started our goal by returning to the place that casted us aside months ago. We began by crushing Bad Luck Chuck into nothing and sending the poor little rif raft back on the injured shelf....hopefully for good this time. Then I issued an open challenge to any man stupid enough to step inside the ring against my Zero Tolerance. The man stupid enough to do that was of course Phillip Burns. A man I've seen...quite alot inside my office over the years. One minute he's in there telling me how eager he is to get back inside the ring and compete with the best and the next minute he's tucking his tail and handing me his resignation. Phillip Burns is a man who can't get tough, when the tough gets going, if you understand my reference there. You see he's all for the lifestyle when he is inside the ring picking up wins and looking like a champion, but as soon as he comes up against actual competition he goes down quicker then a whore for a hundred. He comes up with a case of the limber tail and would run to my office and ask for some more time off. I would give it to him of course because I really didnt want flip flopping sissy's crowding up my roster. Oh but he's good at hosting talk shows....that would be great...if this cess pool of a company produced The View and not pro wrestling. I think you picked the wrong profession Phil.
But as much as I dog on Phil, I cannot take away the fact that he once was a world champion. Yes, he was a champion for two months. Beat Brad Kane, DDK, and then lost to DDK and was put into a coma. What a horrible transitional period that was for NCW and it's title scene. But even then, short lived and least memorable world champions have some sort of credentials don't they Xavior Williams? And beating you Burns would in fact give my client a little bit of recognition. A little momentum on his side, and that never hurts anything. i'm sure your thinking to yourself that i shoudn't take you lightly but Zero Tolerance is a monster of a man and he has the full capability of ripping someone like you to shreds. And I'm glad that we've managed to catch you on one of the "upswings" of your career Phillip. I'm glad we're going to meet you in the ring while you feel like wrestling is something you want to try and do for the umpteenth million time in the five years this company existed. because...."
He leans in closer to the camera. The dim lights casting shadows on his face. The made him look more demonic then any man should look.
"I look forward to watching Zero Tolerance rip you apart this Sunday at A New Dawn. I look forward to directing his every move from ringside. I look forward to telling him to break your spine over his knee or crack your skull with his fists. I want to see him tear you apart physically and mentally. I want to watch him beat you so bad this Sunday that you start to question why it is you came back to this company again. Why you ever had it in your mind that wrestling was the profession for you in the first place. Why it is that you think it matters that you won a world title from a joke and lost it to an even bigger one makes you any better then anybody else. I want to make you run into Nikki michaels office and beg and plead her to give you some more time off again. I want to be the one to crush your spirit Burns. Pain. Hope. Suffer.
He glares into the camera.
"We'll see you sunday!"

We open up to Brent Sampson in his old homes bedroom, packing up his things. He had to be on a plane to Dallas first thing in the morning. Another sleepless night, but this time its for the best. Just then, his youngest daughter Alaina comes walking into the room.
Alaina Sampson: Daddy....."
the little rug rat walks right up to her dads leg as he sat at the end of the bed.
Alaina Sampson: I don't want you to leave.
He scoops up his three year old and sets her down on his lap.
Brent Sampson; Daddy has to go sweet heart. He got a new job that will make everything better for mommy, sissy, and you.
Thats when Stephanie and Gloria enter the room and sit next to him.
Gloria Sampson: Were going to miss you. But we're all really proud of you honey.
Stephanie Sampson: Yeah dad, and for the record...you already gave us the life we deserve...we have each other. Everything else is just a perk. We love you.
Brent looks at his kids and his wife all smiling at him and loving him and he couldnt help but get a little choked up.
Brent Sampson: I promise, I'll be back just as soon as i get settled in out there. I swear you guys.....this job......it's gonna change our lives....
Fade out on the group hug.
"Do you ever stop and wonder.....where it all began? Where the proverbial "spark" truly ignited for you? When you finally just knew what you had to do in life?
