It's dark out tonight. Out in the lonely woods. The hooting of the owls, the howling of the wolves and every other animal you could think of. A bit of the moon shines through the trees but hardly enough to see anything that carefully. One wrong move and you could be hurtin. A few branches snap here and there as the camera crew comes across a cabin, a solitary cabin in the middle of the woods. Grizzly Adams anyone? Anywho, the camera crew keeps walking up until they get to the cabin. There is a note on the door that says they are free to come on in when they wish to. They waste no time and enter. Only a few kerosene lamps are lit in this archaic cabin. There is blood on the floor in various places as well as a few condoms. Ewww. Movement is heard as we see Reckless Jack sitting against a wall. His knees are meeting his chest as he inhales and exhales loudly. He has a Trivium Skull Cap on with an All That Remains Hoodie over his chest. Cargo jeans for his pants and ADIDAS Shoes. Reckless Jack keeps on staring at a section of the cabin and keeps fixated on it. The camera pans over to see some razor blades and a TV. The camera pans back over to Reckless Jack to see him shake his head.
Reckless Jack: There are times when a man has to relive the past in order to go forward in his life. There are times when he simply has to come back to a time in his life when he thought things were grand. He has to come back to the place where his life would change and not for the better. Ladies and gentlemen viewing at home, this is one of those times where I have to come back to relive my past in order to keep moving forward, to further becoming the revolution. Only a handful of people know about this place. None of them probably remember. I know no matter how hard I try, I can't forget about this place. First I need you people to understand something. This does involve people you've never heard of. This does include things that will more then likely get censored by the time this goes to air. This is something so horrible and disgusting that a few people might throw up. And no, I am not stretching the truth on this one.
Reckless Jack shakes his head as he exhales again.
Reckless Jack: Back in October of 2006 in someplace unnamed, something very real happened. Most people thought it was just an angle. Thought it was all staged but this was real, oh so very real. I was supposed to help elevate myself in this place by going against one of their legends, "Hardcore" Harold Campbell. Think of the biggest guy you know and he doubles him in size pretty easily. This guy was legit huge. But we were supposed to do this... stunt if you will. I was supposed to light a blow torch in his face. When it came to do it, the blow torch worked but something happened. He didn't duck down or I didn't time it right and I effectively burned his face. I gave this man a permanent scar on his face. Something that will live with him until he dies. Suddenly this wasn't just an angle, this was something real. When I was working a show, he was having time off to heal. What he did should have got him arrested but no one noticed. He kidnapped what was then my wife.
He pauses if only for a second.
Reckless Jack: He got her drunk at a local bar and brought her here to this cabin. He tied her up in that chair over there. Don't bother looking at it right now. She was only tied up for a few moments as he set up a video camera and placed a bed in the middle of the floor, almost right where you are standing. Needless to say, he took advantage of a drunken woman numerous times and recorded the whole thing for me. Normally, you'd think someone would just send me the tape in the mail a few days later to watch in the comfort of my own home. I wish it would have been that simple. He showed up a couple of shows later with a bag. A bag that contained numerous things. Namely a brick and my ex-wife's bra. He knocked me out with a brick and then brought me here.
Reckless Jack closes his eyes tight.
Reckless Jack: You might want to put the kids away right about now. When I came to, I was tied up in that chair. I couldn't move, couldn't say anything as he had my mouth gagged with a rag. I saw him getting something ready but I just didn't know what. He turned around with a sadistic smile on his face as he held up razor blades. He knocked me out again, only for a short time though as he had to so he could force my eyes open and put the razor blades around them. The reason was simple once he turned on the TV. I had to stare for hours of him, face half burned off, having sex my then wife. I had to sit there and watch the whole thing or risk losing my eye site. I watched him make her scream like the sleeper I found out she was. However, at the time, I had no idea so this... it burned me up inside. Once it was all over, he knocked me out one last time and when I came back, I was outside of an arena.
He opens his eyes, remembering the pain he was put through all because of a mistake.
Reckless Jack: From there on out, I started acting out in a way different manner then people knew me from. I started to get more violent. More aggressive. I started drinking a lot more. I had started drinking earlier in the year because my son was taken away from me. But after this, it was a blur. It was my only means of escape of a life I had created for myself. I saw that it was alright to do things. I had been shown it was ok to cheat on your first love with a sleeper. I thought it was ok to drink like a maniac because the of the ways society had shown me to act. I was being a normal person, only amped about five times with all the drinking I did.
He looks at a few beer bottles that look old. Jack stares at them.
Reckless Jack: Those are from a few months ago. I used to come back here every month and drink a case. I wouldn't leave until my body was numb and my mind was all but gone. Then I would get in my car and drive away, thinking I was superman. Harry took the only bit of sanity I thought I had left that night. For months I was claiming he raped her until I found out she was willing. What was raped was my mind. He raped my mind like he knew he could. Harry was smart enough to know that I was madly in love with a sleeper. He took advantage of me. When I first realized that, you should have seen me. I was on a week long bender. I was cracking beers open like it was a can of coke. It's not something I'm proud of but I am glad I put it down. I'm glad I put the gun down before I hurt myself. Alcohol was slowly eating away at me from all angle.
Reckless Jack stands up and walks over to the pile of beer bottles. He picks one of them up.
Reckless Jack: This was the only thing I thought about. Even when in the ring, I thought about how great it would be to get a beer or a bottle of vodka and get totally messed after the show. I'd even get trashed during the shows. Anyone remember my first night here? I was legit trashed when I went down to the ring a long time after my match...
All of a sudden, Reckless Jack throws the bottle at the wall, shattering it.
Reckless Jack: My breaking point came when I messed up my head up back in May. I started taking pain killers with beer. Great feeling for a while but when you wake up or come to, you feel like crap. Now try four or five beers and four or five pain killers in the span of an hour. I didn't nearly die, I didn't pass out, I just don't remember. But waking up in the morning and seeing myself in the mirror and then looking at the picture of my son, I knew I had to change. I knew I had to get better. Stop drinking, stop the pain killers, become something that isn't what this culture wants you to be. Drug free, alcohol free, smoke free. If I ever wanted to see my kid again... I had to go to rehab. I know I say I went to rehab for an injury but I was addicted. I was an alcoholic. I just wasn't recovering from the concussion, I was recovering from my vices. The day I got out of rehab, I took a trip to see my son. That was great to see him. Eight year old boy, thinks the world of me but if he only knew what his father was doing, it would crush him.
Reckless Jack hangs his head down.
Reckless Jack: Now, I bet you are wondering what the whole point of this was. Why I told you these things that no one should hear. I told you because I felt as if you needed to know the story of the Self Revolution. By explaining to you why I have become "Straight Edge", you'll understand why I do the things I do now. Why I know what you other people addicted to alcohol are going through. It's a battle at times but I stay strong because my failures are due to drinking, to the pain killers. My failures were part of the addictive style. I won't let that happen to me again. I was part of the common American lifestyle until I opened up my eyes. I just hope you people do the same. If you don't, that's your choice.
He brings his head back up.
Reckless Jack: So the next time you pick up that bottle of beer, that pain killer, just think to yourself, is that feeling so great you are willing to do it all the time and end up like the old guy living on the street. Or do you want to come to the conclusion that this life style is the better one. But for now... I gotta keep going on my with personal battle... my self revolution. See you guys later.
He stays there as the camera fades away.
