Act I
“You shouldn’t be moving.”
“Don’t judge me.”
“What, that doesn’t even make sense! Please! Please…Sit down…”
We see Xavier Cross hunched over in pain, medical tape wrapped tightly around his ribs. Natalie Tyson is walking behind him, a nervous expression etched on her face. Xavier keeps moving forward against her wise suggestion. So in order to encourage him, she gives him a sharp poke right in the ribcage. He lets out something of a groan as he stumbles forward into the chair.
“You’re a terrible nurse.”
“You’re a terrible stunt double.”
“…now you’re just being mean.”
“You also make a lousy guard rail.”
“I get it.”
“I doubt you’d make it in the stop sign business.”
“I kind of hate you.”
“I kind of like you.”
“…Well at this point, I’m not sure if I want that or not.”
She sticks her tongue out, before walking over to the kitchen counter. She fiddles with a tea kettle setting it on the stove overtop a flame. Turning around, she leans against the counter starring at Xavier for a moment who is still trying to move.
“You’re really gonna fight Adam? You can’t even walk right now.”
“It’s only Monday.”
“You’re so damn stubborn.”
“And you’re so damn beautiful.”
He winces a bit, before walking over to her as straight as he can, Cross begins wincing harder as the pain shoots through his body. He takes Natalie in his arms, giving her a light kiss, before swaying her around by the hips.
“I’ll be fine, I’m staying with you so that James doesn’t tackle me again. I’ll be perfectly fine..”
A light buzzing, followed by, the song, “Want U Back” By Cher Lloyd.
“I really need to stop letting Belle change my ringtones…”
“Hehe, that song is adorable.”
Cross shakes his head, before unlocking his phone. The text messages reads.
From: Brad Kane
[Meet me at the usual place tomorrow. I got a surprise for you. If you aren’t there at 6 am. I know where to find you. You don’t want me waking you up.]
“Son of a bitch.”
“Training?”
“Yep…”
Cross groans, as Natalie kisses him on the cheek.
“So…we need to talk…”
“You didn’t bang Will did you?”
“Wait. What no?”
Xavier lets out a sigh of relief, Natalie looks at him confused for a moment before shaking it off.
“…I don’t know how else to say this. I don’t know what we are, I don’t know when you’re ready to say certain things. But my career….look…I have a European tour offer. We’re not the main act, just opening some more, but it’s great exposure and..”
“Go. You’re 22 years old Natalie, go for it. I won’t hold you back…”
“Do you really think we can work for eight months while I’m gone?”
“The only half naked person I’ll be touching is an opponent sweetheart.”
“That…kind of makes me feel better.”
“You’ve supported my career, heck your father was part of the business, as were you. This is a good chance for you, and I won’t stand in the way of it.”
“I leave Friday…”
Xavier happy expression turns a little gloom.
“And you’re just now telling me…”
“We had to decide immediately, The band voted…”
“And what did you vote?”
“Honestly…I voted yes. Xavier, I think the world of you, but like you said, this is my big chance.”
“I er…It’s sudden…”
“I should be able to watch your match, I think…time zones are weird, that’s going to be the second hardest part…”
“You know, I’m so glad they invented Skype.”
“And why is that?”
“So I can see your boobs via webcam?”
“We haven’t even….and you’re a jerk.”
“I know sweetie.”
He kisses her again, she giggles a bit beneath his touch.
“We will be fine, I promise.”
She pulls him closer, kissing him a little harder.
“…Not yet…”
She frowns at him, he has a resolved look on his face.
“Maybe when you get back, you’ll have a sexy English accent. Super hot.”
“You’re such a jerk.”
She gives him a light jab in the ribs, as he doubles over in pain.
“That was cheap, and you know it.”
“A little, I got to go pack. Go rest a while…”
She leaves the room, Xavier heads towards the couch in the living room. Collapsing onto it, Cross stares at the ceiling.
“It’s been a long road in nCw. Since 2008…Jeesh..”

Act II
I’ll cherish each moment I spent at this place. I’ve seen the rise, fall, rise, and again fall of Leonard Fox. I watched Adam and Steve duke it out over Kelly. I went to war with William Washington for Cari and a world title shot. I’ve fallen short on the shots at the world title. It almost seems like it was yesterday, I was in the finals of the X-Division tournament, paired up against A.J Pheonix, I forgot how he spelt his name back then. It was weird, and I personally thought it was dumb. I think I mention that a few times actually. Regardless, it was my first ‘big time’ match, and my first big time loss.
But in the end, I learned a lot. I’ve learned a lot from this business, and for every blood, sweat, and tear I’ve shed for this company, I may not be a world champion…But I’ve made a lot of tremendous friends. Without nCw, I wouldn’t be who I am today, without the guidance from my peers such as Brad, Gib, and Steve, I wouldn’t exactly have my head on right. When I fall to my lowest, I knew Adam, Will, or Burns would pick me up. And I’ve even gotten acquainted with some people I never thought I would, like Jacobsen, or Helms. Then there was a revolving door for some of the guys in and out, a lot of good talent, just not the right time or place for ‘em, right now Jabari Woodhead is a pretty talented guy, I think he can do well if he sticks with it.
Now I find myself at what seems like a movie drawing to the final scene. I find myself fighting one of my oldest friends, a man I made my enemy almost two months ago. I didn’t like to way things were going around here at nCw, so my return was based solely for one reason. To take the crown. I’ve been jumped, beaten down, my old trainer Henry is still in the hospital do to the beating those stooges had given him. But at the end, I still find it hard to be angry at him. I find it hard to find a reason to fight Adam Knite. I find it hard to realize, that maybe it all works. Maybe the iron fist is the best way for a company like this to run. The take no crap, make no crap.
I’ve seen a lot, Rob Diamond and Zelda Knite’s relationship, come and fall to the wayside, I personally think it was because she gobbled more cocks than he did, and he was jealous of that fact. But I digress. I’ve watched Falcon soar, and crash into the Earth. I’ve been through hell, I stood at the eve of my wife’s death, and took the National Title from Ace, in one of the matches that I personally think was my greatest achievement.
So at this crossroads I stand, entering battle grounds against Adam. Maybe it was the fact that Bad Luck Chuck ran me down with a car, that I was inches away from death itself. I have three children, and a wonderful girlfriend, I have amazing parents who are enjoying retirement. My family is my life. They mean everything to me.
So it brings me to tears, as I sit here and tell you this. But I will never leave my family. I won’t sacrifice anything else for them after battlegrounds. Because nCw is my family. They were there through the tough times when I was low, forcing me to get to my feet and remember who I was. They were there for the highs, when I could stand on my feet basking in the sunlight, that warm embrace I felt, they were sure to keep me humble.
I can’t say it the right way exactly, but I can say it this way. I love you guys. We all have the tendency to masturbate our egos, to become whiny bitches, to think the world is against us. But never has a company stood so strong the way nCw has. It is because these band of brothers stand together. We stand for a business that wants to produce quality products for these fans.
Entering battlegrounds. I am a soldier for a means. I am a fighter for a reason. I am a father for my ambitions, I am a champion for my rights. I will always stand up when someone is too afraid, or too weak to stand for themselves. I will always believe that what is right, is worth dying for. But Adam, you have to take responsibilities for the orders you made. At Battlegrounds, I will enter your enemy, I will enter a man wanting to beat you down, to take your title, to take your pride.
I will take everything but your life. And if that is ever challenged, I will stand by you even if it means losing my own. I was baptized in the fires of nCw, and I’ve emerged as Xavier Cross, the Undying Machine, The All American, The White Eminem, God’s Greatest Gift, The Dynamo.
Now it’s time to be me. It’s time to rise up using only two words.
Xavier
Cross
[The Scene fades to a picture, from left to right. Will Washington, Adam Knite, Xavier Cross, Phillip Burns, Gib, Brad Kane, and Steve Awesome. It was taken by a fan at some wrestling event a few years back. If you look close enough, Cross kind of looks like Jacobsen, but with a beard]
