Kathleen Conway Insists She Will Compete in the Road To The Gold!
Early Monday morning, shortly after the announcement of the first ever 32 person Dual Road To The Gold Touirnament - the largest in the company's history so far, Chad Lights was sent to catch up with Kathleen Conway who despite what was reported by her husband last night at the Pay Per View has been announced as an entrant into the Starlets tournament.
Chad Lights: Kathy, Kathy, last night we heard an update from your husband that you should be out of in ring action for 3-4 weeks, yet you have been announced as a competitor in this year's Starlets Road To The Gold tournament -
Kathleen Conway: Alright, alright, let me stop you right there Chad, I know what you're going to say, does this mean I will give up my opportunity in this tournament? My answer is as plain and simple - ABSOLUTELY NOT! Golden opportunities like this don't come around every day, certainly not for me...
Chad Lights: Are you saying you will compete regardless of your injury?
Kathleen Conway: That's exactly what I'm saying, torn tendon or no torn tendon, if people can win Olympic Gold medals with broken freakin' necks, then I sure as hell can win the Road To the Gold!
Chad Lights: That doesn't seem very wise, given what your husband told me last night....
Kathleen Conway: First of all Chad, I love my husband but he is not a doctor, his opinion on this is not as important as Leon Wesker's and Leon has advised me that if I absolutely insist on competing - and I do - as long as I wear a special type of orthopedic boot for the next three weeks, I will be able to compete quite safely - the medical advances they have these days Chad really are remarkable! I don't understand them, but as long as they support my ankle and my dreams, I'm not going to be counted out again!
Her husband The Ace was unavailable for comment on his wife's decision or indeed, his own announcement in the Male RTTG tournament.
