(Ayla, Aly Gardner, and Emma, partners in crime, were backstage celebrating their victory over the evil male opression. They were laughing and joking, but the way Ayla kept looking at the door drew the attention of the other two.)
Alysson: We could turn on the monitor, you know.
Ayla: Sigh.. no you know how that will go. We'll sit here, glued to the outcome of that, worrying ourselves sick. This is supposed to be a happy time for us, regardless of how things turn out for them out there.
(Aly put an arm around Ayla and gave her a tight squeeze.)
Alysson: Exactly, now hush your face and put a smile on before I beat your butt.
Ayla: Oooo, promise?
(Aly winked, Emma shook her head, and exhaled slowly, despite the hint of a smile at the silliness of her friends.)
Emma: Crazy as always.
(The rest of what she was going to say was cut off by loud noises from outside the door. The three turned, distracted from each other.)
Alysson: Sounds like it's finished.
Ayla: Can't hear any music over the roar of that crowd. Can't tell who won.
Emma: It doesn't matter. No matter what happens, I'm sure they did their best and we should just be thankful they made it out ok.
Alysson: Sounds good. Let's get ready to greet them.
(Ayla and Aly simultaneously grabbed for the hems of their shirts, pulling them up. Emma's jaw dropped and she turned beet red.)
Emma: Hey hey hey, nobody ever said anything about nudity.
(Ayla and Aly stopped what they were doing and burst into fits of giggles.)
Ayla: You.. shoulda seen the look on your face.
Alysson: Priceless. Mastercard worthy.
(Emma shook her head.)
Emma: Ok, you got me. Sometimes I wonder why I hang around you guys as often as I..
(The door opened, and Andrew Jacobsen walked in, carrying the nCw World Championship over his shoulder, unable to stop his grinning. Falcon follows in behind him. Trent is in a different locker room, and continues on down the hall. Ayla runs up to Falcon, stopping short and gently giving him a hug rather than just leaping on him as normal. Emma and Aly approach Jacobsen.)
Emma: Lookin good there champ.
Andrew: I hope so, it was hell to look this good then. I don't know how you ladies do it so often.
Alysson: Oh, you flatterer.
(Jacobsen flashes his smile, and suddenly Ayla grabs him around the neck from behind.)
Ayla: Well, c'mon then, we gotta go celebrate, get a shower already so we can goooooo...
Andrew: Yes, ma'am.
Falcon: I.. uhh.. I think I'm just gonna head home.
(Everyone stops to look at him, each face having some expression of disapointment.)
Ayla: Awwww..
Andrew: Come on man, you earned this just as much as any of us.
Falcon: Nah. I didn't do anything. I was just there to deal with Sense and Velez, the problems I started. You earned every bit of that man.
Andrew: Well, alright then.. See you around, Kyle.
(Jacobsen heads off to his locker, Emma following. Ayla looked between Falcon and Aly, torn between going home to be with her guy, and celebrating with her girls. Aly, quick on her feet, took the decision out of her hands, wrapping her arms around Ayla's neck and pulling her close.)
Alysson: I can haz her?
Ayla: Aly..
Falcon: Go, have fun, babe. I'll be home when you get there. I just don't think I have the energy to be much fun tonight, and I'd hate to damper your big victory party.
Ayla: Well, ok...
(Ayla moved forward to hug him, but Aly didn't let go, so Falcon had to put his arms around both of them.)
Alysson: You alright? Took a beating out there.
Falcon: I'm fine, don't worry.
(The two women leave him be, heading off to get ready for a fun night in a town they wouldn't see for quite some time. Falcon watched them go, and then, he was alone. He took two steps, then suddenly dropped to one knee, his hand covering his mouth. He grimaced, his face racked with pain. The pain subsided after a time, and when he pulled his hand away, there was something he didn't expect.)
Falcon: Blood.
So, here it is again, that magical time of year where we all run through this gauntlet for a chance to get the big prize. Makes for interesting television, I'll give them that. The unknown factors of everybody suddenly having a chance. It's a lot like scraping a huge pile of mud into a sifter and then finding somebody's lost ring in it. Sure, it could happen, but it more than likely won't. Either way, I'm not much concerned. I'll fight, as I always have, and if I make it to the end and win, then I'll appreciate the work it took to get there. But if I don't, well, not much actually changes.
Then again, it never really does, does it Adam?
So, is this where you tell me how you still somehow rule over everyone and I should just accept it? I hope it is, actually, I haven't heard that speech since.. what.. 2009? Would be a refreshing change to hear an intellegent spiel for once, even if it won't exactly be new material. It's amazing how many guys come in this door and tell me how they're going to be the guy to replace me, that my spot was just being held by me until they got here. It'd be a refreshing change to actually hear something along the lines of logic for once. Kids today, I swear, it's like trying to explain to them that the square peg does not go into the round hole while they stare at you with that vacant "is he speaking another language?" expression. You should know how that is.
Easily one of the few things that's never changed, regardless of how hard we tried.
Kinda like this whole scenario. I mean, who'd of thought that removing a tyrant like Leo Fox, who was only interested in the ways we could make him money, would lead to this? Good old Kelly, refusing to let Ricky walk away after all he's given. Constantly sicking her goons after whoever disagrees. Putting a known misogynist in charge of the woman's division and letting him have carte blanche. You know, creating all sorts of drama and removing anyone who stood in her way, all in an effort to make money. Gee, that kind of sounds like someone else I know. Hmm, let me have a second to think about it.. Oh, wait, I know.
Like father, like daughter.
See, I was fine when it was just the other scheming and lying assclowns who suffered. Guys like Verona and Webb who thought they could coerce and threaten her into doing what they felt was right. Those people got what they deserved. But this constant bull**** of trying to silence the opposition. C'mon, didn't we go through this once before? I know you remember. We fought, we bled, we laid our lives on the line for what was right, and now.. what? Now it's ok because you're somewhat in control? Please..
You went from saying Yes, sir, to Yes, dear. Nothing actually changed.
I can't wait to see what kind of tomfoolery awaits me this week. I mean, really, I threw a huge wrench into her plans by being a scrappy little son of a bitch and assisting Jacobsen in prying the World title, something she treats like her own personal toy, away from her hulking goon. And then the very next week, I get you across the ring from me. Do you honestly expect me to believe that any of this is actually random? I think not, dear boy.
You can say whatever you like. Find all these ways to try and prove me wrong, disregard the important parts and cherry pick whatever facts make you right, but it won't change anything. All that effort to keep that belt in the hands of who she wants is now forfeit, whether it be by luck, coincidence or her own overconfidence. Next move belongs to you.
Choose carefully.
Just remember, Velez thought I couldn't bring him down either. Either by taking his company or driving him back into the hole he crawled out of. Oh, I'm sure that the money you make from his company is adding to the principle of your nest egg, so, you're welcome for that. I hope you use it to see the world. Anything to get you away from here.
Then, just maybe... things can actually change.
Alysson: We could turn on the monitor, you know.
