We have just been handed a piece of information, regardless one match-up this weekend in the Second round of the Road To The Gold Tournament
Ricky Johnson's record of most wins ever in the history of the Road To The Gold Tournament, which was set last year during his Quarter Final win over Alex Jones, will be tied this weekend.
Johnson who has the record, at Five Wins, will have to share his record at the end of Collision, but with who?
Two men, who currently have four wins in their Road To The Gold Careers, one being The Ace, who also is the only former winner to re-enter a title after winning one, moved within striking distance of Johnson's record, when he defeated Xavier Williams.
On the other side, another man, who is seeking redemption for a disapointing comeback to NCW earier this year, is Davey Ortega, the man who originally lost in the first ever Tournament in the finals, to Lance Ryan, made his comeback, and suprised people, when he defeated Joe Everyman in the first round of this year Tournament, giving himself Four wins as well.
Fate would have it, that the two men, who are looking to tie a record, would be matched against each other in the Quarter-Finals.
Both men, share a history with each other, as back in 2008, Both were members of The Empire, a group led by Ortega, before being kicked out of his own Stable by Kole Kaos, and fellow Stable member, Steve Awesome.
Shortly after that, Davey Ortega was brutally attacked backstage, by what was originally appeared to be Adam Knite, however we learnt a few weeks later, The Ace framed Adam Knite, causing him to be suspended, and the Tag Team Titles held by Adam Knite & Trent Helms to be vacanted. the very same reign that ended The Smoking Aces only Tag Team Title reign.
Regardless of who wins, One of the two men, will try Ricky Johnson's record, But who will it be? Tune into Collision's Main Event this week to find out!
