So earlier today my life acted like a gangsta, or at least tried to. That always sends me for a chuckle. After the big tickle fight which wore Freya out more then anyone, its just me and Tash right now sitting outside enjoying a really warm October day. We're in the backyard because that is were the little sandbox is. My princess is in there right now playing with the sand. She loves her sandbox. I sit in a chair next to it watching her play while I get lost in my thoughts. This happens too often anymore. Tasha dumps a big pile of sand on my foot while she giggles.
Dex: Oh you think its funny to put sand on daddy's shoes huh?
She keeps giggling. Tasha is always laughing or smiling. Just like her mom is provided its not her time of the month. I hate that time of the month. You think your lady has it bad? No one's ever seen Freya on her period.
Dex: You're silly ain't ya, princess?
Yeah she's my princess. I treat her like one too. Always spoiling her. She has yet to do anything super bad. About the worst is nearly breaking a lamp. Tasha slowly gets up and walks out of her sandbox before plopping in front of me, arms raised. I pick her up and she gives me a kiss on the cheek. I hear yawning and the shuffling of feet.
Freya: Well isn't this a moment to be captured with a camera. I swear she is never upset when you're around. Even when she makes poopie.
Dex: I know. Then again she's not upset a whole heck of a lot anyways. So how was your nap, my ghetto queen?
Now Freya giggles. She slowly walks outside stretching her arms to where her stomach shows. She's really gotten in shape lately. A few months ago, I don't mean to sound like an ass, but she was getting a little doughy. I think wanting to get back to what she loves is great. I enjoy it myself or I wouldn't be wrestling either.
Freya: Great nap. I always get so worn out when I get tickled.
Dex: Maybe its because you laugh so hard. It's like a sexy hyena or something.
Freya: Very funny, mister. You been out here long?
I shake my head. Probably only been out here half an hour now that I think about it. Tasha holds out her arms for Freya now as she swoops in and takes the girl.
Freya: Heya sweetie.
And she gets more kisses. We spoil that child. If the boys were still us, I'm sure I'd be dead tired from chasing them around all day.
Dex: To answer your question, not very. Maybe about half an hour at the longest. She seemed restless in the house so I brought her outside.
Freya: Yeah she gets like that. Always wants to explore. Heck, we've only lived here a couple of months at the most, and I don't think she's discovered everything yet.
I nod my head before standing up. I motion Freya to head inside now. There is really nothing else to do outside right now because it is the latter end of October in Iowa. Feels like being back in New York or Boston, only a ton more friendly. I've never encountered a friendlier bunch of people.
Freya: So what should we do for dinner?
Dex: I honestly have no idea. Wanna head out and hit somethin' up?
Freya: We could. I wouldn't mind to cheat a little bit and get a hamburger somewhere.
I hate fast food. Nothing is worse in this worse then those things they manage to call cheeseburgers. Just awful.
Dex: As long as its not fast food, I'm more then fine with it. Maybe that joint Brad and Nina go to all the time.
Freya: Oh I love that place! You hungry, Tash?
Tasha nods her head. Freya hands her back off to me so she can go get ready. Best part about being a man? I slip on my shoes and I'm good. Tasha gives me another kiss.
Dex: Why thank you. Mama is gonna be a while isn't is?
My princess nods her head again as we sit down on the couch, waiting for Freya to get all ready to head out for some dinner. I get the feeling that sometimes we're not super exciting. Not like most people think an interracial couple is. Some feel we probably get kicked out of places which is false. Freya and I are just like any other married couple. We fight, we make up, we do nothing somedays but there is a lot of love. That's the only way I imagine my life.

"Well so much for the run of two mismatched men making a run for the tag titles coming up. I'd say Kenny and Alex put the stomp on the dream of becoming a tag champion, or at least getting the shot at the belts. I wish them the best of luck and hope that they come to realize that is one of the worst names for a tag team of all time. It sounds like something a moron would come up with. Regardless, Team America is going to have their hands full with those two men. Best part is, though, Alex admitted I was right.
Still how Curtis and I found defeat last night is a little hazy. From my understanding, Ken tagged himself in right before the BANG! and that was it? I suppose if I had more knowledge of how to team with Curtis I might've been able to stop the loss from happening. It is what it is, and I got blasted off of the apron. That hurt a little bit. The show goes on and my, oh my does this show go on.
I found myself wondering last night after the loss if I would even make a possible pre show to the pay per view. Imagine how surprised I was when I found out the news late last night before I left with Freya that I would be on the pay per view. Now add to my shock when I found out that I would be getting an X Title shot against Curtis Kanyon. It does make sense in a logical sort of way. The man and I had been teaming together for a couple of weeks, we lost, and who better to defend that title against then the man who didn't realize he was getting pinned.
I apologize Curtis for not being able to see that there was a tag. However, if you had kicked out of the move we wouldn't be in this right now anyways. Thanks to you not being able to kick out, I find myself getting a title shot at a championship I have once held before. I beat Falcon under his masked persona of Gjenrei for that title in November of last year I think it was. Then I held the title until about the first week of this new year. I really accomplished nothing with the title.
I had a huge win and from there I did nothing with it. That has stayed with me for the months since my victory. Since that time, Curtis, I've put on some weight. Yes, a natural weight. From working out the past couple of months to get bigger. I used to fly around the ring with the greatest of ease. I woke up one day and my knees were giving me unbearable pain. I looked at Freya and told her I need to take some time off to heal up, bulk up, and switch my style of wrestling.
When I won that belt last year, I felt like I was a great fit for what people would expect out of the exciting side of the X Championship. The old X-Division style that my brother in law helped to bring in. Now I'm different. I've found myself becoming more of a traditional wrestler with some of Brad Kane's striking influence but not as much. One can't be too relient on the same attack and expect to do well consistently.
I think of myself as more well rounded now. My knees won't suffer the same fate after a huge dive to the floor. That takes the toll on a person, Curtis, not that you would really know. Honestly, if I were my old self, this would probably be an easier match for you. Despite your height, you are quite powerful. One of the most powerful men I've seen in the ring before. Now that I'm bigger, I don't think you'll be able to run through me, literally.
I might be wrong but with these extra pounds and not flying around so much, I match up better against the majority of this roster. My proving of this starts against you, Curtis, for a title that I would love to hold again. That X Championship is something I want back. If I hadn't of lost my focus earlier this year, maybe I would've had a great reign, its impossible to tell how I would've done. All I know is that I'm looking forward to this chance against you on Sunday night.
Our team failed and now all that's left is to fight one another. Time to find out who the weak link of the two of us were. Personally, and this is just common sense, it wasn't me. I didn't get pinned. You did. Just like you will on Sunday night when I get my X Championship back. Freya and I will be husband and wife, two champions at the same time. Might not be the first, won't be the last, but it'll feel great."
