Ding dong! My door bell rings. This is quite unexpected. Usually I don't get any visitors. Dexter and Tasha are at the store and I know he never forgets keys so I stand up. Before moving any further I stretch out my arms. Just taking it easy right now as I finally make my way to the door as the bell keeps ringing.
Freya: Hold your horses, I'm getting there!
Goodness. Pushy people. Probably a door to door religion pusher. I usually let them go through their speech before telling them something silly. I know its not the greatest thing to do but I enjoy it. Dexter hates it. I open the door and my eyes light up with surprise and excitement.
Freya: SPIKEY!
Yeah! Spikey came to visit me finally. No sight of the Big Red. Oh well. Not like she would really have fun here anyways.
Spike: You seem a little excited to see me.
Freya: It's been like forever since I saw you! Move to Iowa.
Spike: Move back to Boston.
Freya: How about no.
I step aside so he can walk into the house. He nods his head in approval for how we have everything set up. Damn well he should too. This was all of my idea. I let Dexter think he won a few battles but he didn't.
Spike: Really nice place. I like what you did with some of the framed video game posters in the living room.
Freya: Thanks.
That puts a smile on my face as Spike makes himself feel at home.
Freya: Want something to drink?
Spike: Nah, I'm good.
I shrug my shoulders and get a Red Bull for myself. So good. Due to all of these drinks I've probably shortened my life expectancy just a little bit. The thought of chocolate milk did cross my mind to see if it annoyed him to see me going on about how I love chocolate. I'm terrible!
Spike: So where's the husband and my niece?
Freya: They went out to the store for a few things.
Spike: More Red Bull?
I come back to the living room and take a seat in a chair, sipping my last one. Still I manage to look indifferent when Spikey asks me that question.
Freya: Well we needed a few things and if they happen to get more Red Bull then I feel quite lucky. Though I already am quite lucky to have a wonderful husband and a great daughter. Wish I could see my boys more often but Joe wanted them back and I didn't feel like going through some huge ordeal.
Spike: Yeah, I'm sure you've seen me go through that. Plus I assume you want to keep it on good terms with him?
Freya: As good as I can anyways. So what brings you here?
Spike leans forward and keeps looking around the room. I put my Red Bull down before giving him a nice smile.
Spike: Came to see you in order to say good luck and bring home the title this weekend.
Freya: You came all the way out here for that?
Awfully nice of him really but I don't think that he should've done it. A phone call would've sufficed. Still it is so great to see him as the garage door opens. Here comes Dexter with Tasha in one arm and a boat load of sacks in the other. I stand up to help him as Spike turns around.
Spike: Hey, Dexter.
Dexter nods at Spikey. I take Tasha from Dexter before giving my man a kiss on the cheek. Dexter doesn't say anything knowing that I have to entertain company right now. Tasha is all smiles seeing her Uncle Spikey.
Spike: Oh look at that little cutie.
I'm not used to seeing my brother smile like this so much. I like it really. Usually he is so moody and stuff. Both of them honestly.
Spike: She a good girl?
Freya: The best! She's a great daughter. Ain't ya sweetie?
I give her some kisses as Spike motions for wanting to hold her. She's more then willing to go to her uncle as he's happy.
Spike: So, yeah, just beat Jenny and be a World Champion like me and Brad. A whole family of World Champions in the same company. Sure we'd be the second but dammit, it'd be great.
Freya: Yeah, it would be...
I had never thought of that. A whole family, blood anyways, of being World Champions. Not even the Knites can really claim that. I think I've found my ultimate reason for wanting to win now. Not to just beat Jenny in a clean contest but to do as Spike suggests. Three blood family members, no one through marriage, all holding a World Title in the same company at one point or another.

"So since Monday I've done my best to work out. Its getting cold out now. I hate the cold weather. It means I have to wear layers of clothes outside and its a pain in the rear to get inside and take off a coat and a sweatshirt. Still it beats freezing to death. So today I ran in rain and cold in order to get ready for my title shot. Most weeks I'd just stay on the treadmill. Stay warm. But this is something more then just a normal match. No, this is a title match, as we all know.
I braved the elements today to run for a few miles even before Dexter and Tasha got up. I'm taking this more seriously then anything else I've done this year. Earlier in the year I really didn't work out a whole lot. Middle of the year I started to get fat. Now I'm slowly back in shape now. Today I went three miles in my fastest time in quite some time. It made me feel alive to know that I'm doing this for a purpose other then just to keep my life longer.
While I was running this morning trying to stay warm while kids were going to their school buses, standing outside for the building to open, I began to think. This is something completely new to me in NCW. A title match. My first ever in this company. Its like a kid's first day of school. They don't know what to expect. There is a sense of nervousness and excitement in the air as they go into that building for the first time. There is a new teacher for them. New friends to make.
My current stay I feel like I'm making more friends. We all know of the rivalry between the Kane and the Williams families. My brothers hated Todd more then anything else in the world and honestly, I think they were jealous of the success he was getting. It wasn't a racial thing, they just wanted what he had. That spotlight. Right now, his sister, has it. Unlike Brad and Spike, I can fight a Williams while they're on top of the mountain. Also unlike the two of those knuckleheads, I have zero ill will towards the Williams family.
I like to think of Jenny as a friend. I like to think of Crystal, as an extension of their family, as a great friend. Todd isn't a terrible guy at all either. So when people saw me winning they probably viewed this match as a battle in the on going battle in this war, as I think Jenny said herself. I've never seen this as a war. Just two men going against a man that they fully don't understand. Dexter felt the same way for quite some time. He then began to really get into watching Todd's actions and began to understand as did I.
Since then I haven't felt anything evil towards all of them. So I walk into this match like I'm facing a great friend for the right to be the best female wrestler on the earth. Well besides a certain gamer girl, anyways. The right to carry that title is something I wouldn't take lightly. I never take being a champion lightly at all. In the past I once held a title for nearly half a year, defending it against who wanted a shot. I got stabbed in the shoulder, long story, went out five days later and defended that title against everyone else's wishes.
I do what I need to do in order to gain the proper respect from my peers despite my conduct sometimes. I know I get a little goofy when I drink Red Bull. I know I've been known to rant about how much a certain type of man is better then all others. At the heart of it all, I'm a wrestler. I love to do this and after talking with Spike today, I have yet another reason to beat you, Jenny.
While I'd love to end your streak being the one who started it all off, there is something more at stake. A piece of history. While its been done, somewhat, before. If I beat you this Sunday, every member of the Kane, the ones that matter I should say, will have held a World Title in NCW. The first blood trio of siblings to hold that title high above their heads. Do you understand what that means, Jenny? Me, finishing off this quest for the Kane family to be one of the greatest wrestling families in this company despite how we act.
I mean we come and go more then Davey Ortega.
So Jenny, I'm laying it all on the line against you. I honestly have no idea if I'd get another shot should I lose at Road to the Gold. This is it for me, maybe. With how my life is going right now with my part time college going, being a mother, this is like it for me in terms of getting a title shot. I mean I can't get pregnant anymore so its not like I wouldn't have to lose another title because of that. Still just with how things are in the wrestling world, you only get a single shot sometimes.
I know I'm not going to get a rematch every week until I get the title. I wouldn't want it. I had to work for this title shot, we all know it. You had to work for your title shot and you proved your worth every single time someone stepped up to you, Jenny. Anyone who says anything different doesn't realize how hard it is sometimes to be a champion. Everyone gunning for you, running you down, but you handle it well Jenny.
But this is the second time you get into that ring with me. First time I wasn't really ready for what you had to offer. I've been watching that match over and over, and I think I know now what I have to do to beat you. I'm sure you feel the same way because this time it won't be a flash pin that does me in. You're going to have to kill me to keep me down, and from taking your title. I mean that too. Not theoretically either. You will have to throw everything you have inside of you, Jenny to keep me from realizing my goal of winning that title.
Of putting my family's name up there as the first trio of blood siblings as World Champion.
To hold the title for myself.
To take pictures of that title with Tasha cradled with it.
I have my reasons for being champion. What reasons do you have, Jenny, for holding that title? Is it for your family? Yourself? For Xander? Why, Jenny? I honestly don't know why. You've been a great champion regardless and I think the fans expect nothing less then a five star match between the two of us. No matter who wins, I'll think of you as a friend, always. Good luck to you, Jennifer Williams."
