*We open in on Curtis D. Kanyon looking through racks of Halloween costumes. We see his kids next to him. Teenage Pedro is looking annoyed as he holds Pepito by the hand to keep him from wandering off.*
Pedro: Dad, this is sooo embarrassing!
Curtis: What? You want a costume for Halloween, or not?
Pedro: Yeah...but not here!
*The camera pulls back to reveal they are at a thrift store.*
Pepito: Yay! I wanbe doggie!
Curtis: See, your brother has the right enthusiasm.
Pedro: He's two, he doesn't count! We live in a mansion Dad! Why are we here?
Curtis: How do you think we can afford to live in a mansion? Because we don't waste money. So look around and find something, don't worry, these are only slightly used. Oh hey! A Thor costume!
Pedro: Lame.
Pepito: Lame! Lame! Lame! Lame!
Curtis: Great, now you have him saying it, you need to recog--oh a blazer!
*Curtis rushes over and looks at a bright green blazer.*
Pedro: That's gross looking Dad.
Curtis: You kidding, this will be great for a business meeting! I cou--computer keyboards!
*Curtis rushes over to a pile of computer keyboards.*
Curtis: Some keys are missing, but I could make this work.
Pedro: No Dad! Ugh! Stop being lame!
Curtis: Don't make me pick a costume for you son!
Pedro: You wouldn't!
Curtis: Pretty sure I saw a Tigger costume, just your size.
Pedro: No, no, no, no! It's okay.
Curtis: Damn right it is.
*Curtis keeps looking at the awesome deals as the scene fades.*
*We fade in to see Curtis D. Kanyon in front of his mansion, walking through the garden. He looks to the camera.*
Curtis: Dexter Davis. A good tag team partner. He's got cred, I'm sure he could make it as a tag champ someday with the proper focus and partner. I do hope he makes it. He's a good kid. He's come a long way. He's grown a lot since his first X Championship reign. Back then, he had a lot of potential, but didn't know which way to go. He's got his life together, he's got a great family, except for that lame brother-in-law of course, and he's an all around good dude. Surprisingly amazing at Pictionary. Honestly, I didn't think his kind could draw...you know, New Yorkers.
*Curtis runs his hand over the top of some shrubbery as he walks.*
Curtis: Dex was recently my partner...for two weeks. He thinks he knows me so well. We did gel, I won't lie, we were pretty darn good for the short time we were together. But that doesn't mean Dex knows my life story. He's got a good handle, I'm a great tag wrestlers and I'm way better than people perceive when they judge this book by it's cover. But in the singles world, I am just as great, if not better. You've seen the hundreds of guys that have walked through our doors here at NCW. But of all those men, only twenty-one can claim to have been a world champion. I am one of them. Only four men in NCW history have more championship wins than me, and those are all men who have been here since day one. And they're not that far away. But yet, most people still see me as something of a push over, a comedy act that can be defeated with little effort. You know differently...
*Curtis makes it to the end of the edge of the garden and pets a bush shaped like a bear.*
Curtis: Maybe people thought lightly when I was angry, full of booze, and punching anything that moved with Ron. Maybe people thought it when my personality was split and I was crazy. Maybe even people thought it when I was an overly protective bodyguard. Yet, through all that, I was still winning belts. Now I'm more focused than ever, I have the god of thunder behind me, and I feel like a resurgence has come through me! My pattern for RTTG of win, loss, win...will be broken. With every fiber of my being, with every word of Thor running through my veins, I will bring the fury to this battle.
*Curtis makes his way to the path of stones that leads to his front door. He takes a deep breath.*
Curtis: Do you smell that. Smells like an epic battle is in the air. Your good Dex, you got a lot to prove. But I'm better and I have a god to prove too. See you soon, I will bring the thunder.
