Path to the Gold
A Spike Kane Roleplay.
The scene opens up on an empty arena. I say empty, I mean there's no people, the seats are empty and the lights are out, all bar one small spotlight. The spotlight shines down to the middle of the arena, here we see a ring, a wrestling ring with the nCw logo on it. This is no ordinary ring however, as it has a steel cage structure around it. a man is sitting in the middle of the ring, he shifts his weight as he sits with one knee up, the camera cuts from the view we have...an aerial view from the backseats right down to the face of the man. Donning an "Empire" hoody and some camo cut-offs, Spike Kane sits in the middle of the ring.
Spike: Part of me wants to sit here and say..."it has begun" that the path to Mind Games is being tordden this very minute, but the truth about it is...it began a long time ago. It may aswell have begun the night Jack Manson won the nCw National title, because from that moment on Jack had a huge crosshair on his back. Nobdy dares challenge Lance Ryan, because they know Davey has aqquired himself a rematch, and nobody would dare cross him. Jack however? He was an open invitation, untill I booked him up of course. Untill I forceably injected myself into his life. I made it so that Jack could not go a single day without thinking of my name. I made sure that Jack Manson knew who I was, and I made sure he'd do anything to get his hands on me, even if it ment putting the National title on the line. now, I know some people disagree with the way I went about things. I know some people think I should have just outright challenged Jack Manson, I should have been a true sportsman and done the right thing. Let me tell you ignorant people...I am the best at what I do. I am a wrestler, a fighter, a warrior. I enter that ring on a weekly basis and put my career, my body on the line. What you don't realise however is I put my mind on the line everyday in this industry. The pressure we wrestlers undergo is more intense than you'll ever realise, daily events such as autograph signings, meet and greets, press releases. Why should I strain myself to keep the bloodthirsty fans happy? Why should I put my blood, body and soul on the line...when, when it really comes down to it, they don't give a shít? Because I can...because I cope. Not because he fans want it, because mental battles are a key way to victory in this business. Mind Games, people call them...getting into your opponents head, finding out what makes him tick, and of course...doing as much damage as possible whilst your in there. Something I made sure to do to Jack Manson.
Spike slowly gets to his feet, moving towards the cage. He places a hand on the cage and leans towards it as he talks.
Spike: Myself and Jack Manson have quite the history, which is remarkable really considering how short it is in the first place. Let's take a look, nCw itself is a fresh and young federation, this coming Sundat, Mind Games is only my second pay per view here. I was unlucky enough to miss out on Road to the gold, well to be in one of the title matches, or to even earn myself a title shot. Instead I embarrassed and destroyed a hardcore "legend" in TVO. A janitor match or some other bullshít...something far below the talents of such a great superstar like myself. Yet at the very next chance for a spotlight match, here I am, one short step away from Main Eventing a pay per view...the National Championship match. A title many people believe is below me. A title many believe I shouldn't even have to lower myself by considering it, but I know how this business works. I know that Leonard Fox will not let me near the nCw World Championship untill I prove myself...given when I held a world Heavyweight Title last, I walked out on the company. It caused an uproar, people respected me for it, people hated me for it. A lookalike was brought in and used in a match to lose the title, however...I kept the original...I had it with me all the time. I took it to WCF with me, and I burnt it...infront of the entire world. I burnt my bridges, quite literally...the video was played over and over on WCF television, the internet was alive with replays, downloaded clips, youtube, the lot. Controversy set me on fire in WCF, within a week or so I was one half of the Tag Team Champions. Fighting none other than Team Xtreme, TVO and TXO...before they decided to get themselves names...but go figure. Jay turned on me though Jack...that was the last cage match I had. Myself and Jay Williams against Davey Boone and TXO, I think...it could have been the other one, they both seemed the same at the time. Davey Boone though, you heard me correctly, the guy who kicked the bucket the other night, him. Jay left me, he basicly threw me to the wolves and whereas I know I'm a great fighter, an awesome superstar and one hell of a talented athlete, i couldn't compete with the numbers after already wrestling a long match. They got the better of me and I lost....then I left, I walked out of WCF...fuming with Jay Williams and just pissed off at the world in general. So I parted ways...I tucked my tail between my legs and went to an XHF offshoot, the VXW....the less said about that the better. I suffered amnessia, but you'll be happy to know I'm perfectly fine now. I mean that Jack, I am perfectly fine...I'm in the best possible health, I'm the peak of perfection Jack...and now, not only do you have to deal with that, add in the fact we've taken things to the next level...a barbed wire cage, my home Jack...add a roof and you have a Dragon's Den, my creation, my home...then throw in the fact I lost my last cage match and the desire, the passion to avenge that burns deep within my soul.
Spike pushes his hands down onto the barbed wire, the wire peirces Spike's flesh easily, Spike grins as he sees the blood trickle over his hands. He looks back up to the camera.
Spike: You've helped me Jack. You'll hate to realise this, but you've helped me become who I am here in the nCw. You helped me rise the ranks and shove aside the jobbers who don't deserve to even be in the same arena as me. With the help of you, and Davey Ortega of course...I've become a force to be reckoned with here in the nCw. I'm the guy you don't want to cross. I'm the man who will go to extraordinary lengths to prove a point....I'm the man that nobody is safe around, all thanks to you Jack...you and that National Championship you've been warming up for me. The National Championship has thrown this all into the spotlight, whilst Lance and Davey were busy recruiting members to NWS and The Empire...we took things further, I made things personal...I tried to get under your skin and succeded, I forced you to go further than the job demands...I forced you to put everything, your all, your complete soul into this battle Jack. You lost control though, and almost did something unthinkable, let alone drawing a gun on my sister. The ONE thing in this world that I love more than this business. Then you added an extra little shot..you beat me in the ring, you beat me...but I never tapped, I was never pinned, never counted out, never disqualified...seriously Jack, how much did you pay that referee? Because come on Jack...you know that you can't measure up to me. Deep down inside you know it Jack, so does No Warning Shot. Why do you think Lance Ryan loves to talk about me? Why do you think he goes out of his way to try and compliment me almost on a daily basis. He wants me in No Warning Shot...but we both know that couldn't happen, because me and you could never co-exist could we Jack? Let alone my brother and myself...
Spike removes his hand from the barbed wire around the cage. He raises his hand up to his face and watches as blood trickles down, a twisted smile on his face.
Spike: Sunday Night, Jack. Mind Games...is where it all comes to a head. This long month of fighting, of abusing any kind of link possible. Seeing your father put through hell, suffering a heart attack, and then being forced to jump through hoops by me...quite a surprise he didn't suffer another heart attack...but hey, we can't have all the fun all the time can we? As for Freya? She's been quite odd since that day Jack, which is saying something...I don't know if you know about Freya, but she's spent the majority of her life in an Insane Asylum, I took her out a few years ago...it was the most stable she had ever been. Only recently has she been so...normal, I guess is the only word to describe it. Yet, since the day you pulled a gun on her she's been slipping back...your the reason why Jack, and I won't tolerate it. Do what you want to me, but my sister...I just can't allow it. So it seems my plan may have backfired? Thats why I took the initiative last week Manson...thats why we took you out, me and my brother...Christian. We took you out and nobody has heard a word from you since then. How intriguing? The biggest match of your nCw career is only a few days away and your nowhere to be found. It doesn't matter anyway, because things have already been set in motion that will ensure your downfall Jack. Your set to face me in probably the most xtreme match the nCw will have seen yet. Your going into that match, with the God of Xtreme....The Spiked One...the next nCw National Champion Jack. It's been set since I decided to even go for the National Championship....your just holding it to keep it warm for me Jack, so get ready to shine it up real nice and pass it on to your better...to Spike Kane!
Spike grins as the scene begins to fade. He stares right at the screen with a demented look upon his face. The scene then fades.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
