The scene begins with a wide shot inside the United Center. The ring has been set up, and the entrance platform is starting to take shape. NCW is really going all out in for this pay per view. Everything looks spectacular, and you can imagine the electricity that is going to fill this arena in just a few short hours. Jason Norton and Chad Lights are sitting in director style tall chairs in the middle of the ring. As the camera pans in, Chad begins to speak.
Chad: Welcome NCW fans, we are just one day away from Metamorphosis this Sunday coming to you live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Right now, I am with Jason Norton. He is one half of what is becoming the most talked about match of Metamorphosis, as he faces Steve Awesome for the number one contender spot for the NCW National Championship. Jason, how are you feeling?
Jason: Thank you, Chad. I am feeling absolutely great. I have never been so excited in my life. I'll tell you, for the first time in my career, I have been given a chance. This is a great situation for me, and I am truly blessed to be here.
Chad: Well, Jason. In recent weeks you have shown that you can hold your own in this ring. You have a tough task at hand though. I'm sure you are aware of your opponent, Steve Awesome.
Jason: Ah, yes Steve Awesome. I am well aware of him. His name has been on the lips of every single person I have spoken to since the Metamorphosis card came out. Now, Steve, I know you'll be watching this. You can turn that smile that just crossed your face upside down. Contrary to what you think of yourself not very many people like you. But this is the craziest thing. I've come to find out that I'm your biggest fan.
Chad has a puzzled look on his face.
Chad: You, the man he will be facing at Metamorphosis? How can that be possible.
Jason laughes to himself, and then responds
Jason: You see, Chad. I am not like those people who have spoken bad words against Steve. I actually have to get in the ring with the guy. I've seen a lot of tape since Sunday night. Enough to know that this isn't going to be an easy match. I'm been really concentrating on my game plan tomorrow night. You see everyone is trying to get my riled up about this match. Everyone's telling me to get angry, and to use that anger in the ring. But that's just not me. I am too focused to get all fired up because of someone telling me I'm not as good as them. It's talk. The question is, come Sunday, does Steve have the walk to back it up. We will see.
Chad: Jason, the NCW has noticed you. You seem to stand out because of the way you approach each match. Most guys are coming on television, the internet, and radio talking about how they are going to totally demolish their opponent. You, however, never seem to get rattled. I don't believe I have ever seen someone as calm and collected before a major pay per view. How do you stay so focused?
Jason takes big sigh
Jason: It's very simple really. I love wrestling. For the last twelve years, this has been my life. I love the preparations and training leading up to a match. You see, this match coming up is not personal. It's a professional wrestling match between me and Steve Awesome. Two men walk to a ring and battle to be the winner. And the biggest thrill of my career is getting into the ring with my opponent, and knowing every weakness, every flaw, and every mistep he has made. This is where I am different from my competition. I don't mistep. Everything I do in this business is calculated. From the moves I use in the ring, to the words I choose to speak outside of the ring. While the real competition is in the ring, everything you do in the days leading up to a big match are just important. And I pride myself on keeping every phase of my game sharp. See the thing I know right now. Steve is realizing that this match isn't going to be a cake walk for him. You could tell in his last promo. He was really reaching for some way to prove to himself he is better than me. The only thing he has on me is my two wins coming from Suspense. I don't know if some people are just dense or what. I have been in the business for twelve years. I've had many wins, and many losses in my career. So when he says one win on me is totally irrelevant. [/color]
Chad: And what about his comments on you not being deserving of a match with him?
Jason: Well, Chad, that's all they are. Just comments. The fact of the matter is, Steve and I are less than thirty-six hours away from one of the biggest matches in our careers. And all the things I have seen and heard from him...The flashy car, the oversized house, the reality tv shows...and the promos he has shot to claim how much better he is. They all mean nothing.
Jason looks directly into the camera.
Jason: Steve, I know where I have spent my time. The weight room and the ring. I hope that all of these other business ventures you've got going aren't going to get in the way of you bringing all you've got. There is no margin for error, so I suggest you come prepared for the fight of your life. Because tomorrow night, business is about to pick up.
With that, the scene fades to black.
The stage has been set for one of the most exciting matches in NCW history. The time for talking is over, and it's now time to back up the words we have chosen. The fork in the road is approaching for two men, and only one day seperates us from knowing which path each man will take?
