~*~*~Sovereign…only days away now, and there will be so many things decided within that pay-per-view. We may have a new champion, we will definitely have a new number one contender, and the entire state of nCw will change from top to bottom. One of the men that has the chance to come away with the world title, is a familiar face as champion, that being Lance Ryan. Lance was nCw’s first champion and nCw’s first Hall of Famer, and since returning after a brief layoff, Lance appears to be on one of the biggest rolls of his career, and in the best form that we have ever seen him. Last time that Lance was fighting for the World Title it was personal between he and Spike Kane, and it was Spike Kane, the hated taking on Lance Ryan, the beloved. This time, those tables have turned, and there is a third ingredient added into the mix, Jack Manson. A man that Lance has fought beside for much of his time here in nCw, and a man that Lance does harbor a deep respect for. There is a lot of respect within this match, but that will all be tossed aside when that gold belt is held high in the air and the bell rings for this one. Three men will battle it out to reign supreme in nCw, two men will lose that chance, and one man will indeed be sovereign.~*~*~
~*~*~The scene opens and we see Lance Ryan walking down a busy street. There is snow on the ground all around him, and some snow falling from the sky. Lance is wearing a long black trench coat, a black hooded sweater, and a black toque. Lance appears to be alone, and he stops outside of a small building that looks to be a community center. Lance walks up the walkway and opens the door. He yells into the building and we hear an echo.~*~*~[/i]
Lance: Yo, Allan? You around bro?
~*~*~Lance shuts the door behind him and the lights in the center go up, and we see a wrestling ring, some metal folding chairs and the man that had a brief go around in nCw last year, Allan Cooper. Cooper walks over to Lance and the two shake hands.~*~*~[/i]
Lance: What the hell is all this? I didn’t expect you to have a wrestling ring set up in here just like old times. What do you have planned? A way to make a quick buck off of me since I am back in town?
Cooper: Nah man, I wouldn’t do that to you.
Lance: Nothing surprises me anymore man, I mean this whole world of ours is driven by greed, hatred and lust. I am so sick and tired of everything around me man, The Age of the Revolution is about the only sanctuary left.
In all honesty though, the place looks great. What’s been up man?
Cooper: Not much bro. I have been enjoying retirement, watching you persevere and not a whole hell of a lot else. I have to say man, it was s**tty what that bitch and your son did to you. Taking all of your money, taking your new baby away from you, that was ridiculous man.
Lance: I don’t sweat it anymore. I should have known the whole time that she wasn’t with me for the love or the attention. She had gold digger written all over her, why do you think that she left me the first time? I was on the outs with the business. It’s fine though, the timing worked out perfect for me to team up with reckless jack again, and we have been bulldozing through everyone that gets in our paths.
Cooper: I also saw that things appear to have gone full circle for you man, you are headed into Sovereign to face Spike Kane and Jack Manson. It seems that everyone in that match has something to prove.
Lance: Spike Kane and Jack Manson, I hate to say it, but other then Reckless, I’d have to say that these two are truly two of the best in this company. It is not going to be easy to prevail. Spike Kane is out to prove that he isn’t what everyone is saying that he is, and Manson is trying to prove that he belongs in the main event and that he is not just destined for the National Title division for life.
Cooper: What do you mean when you say that Spike wants to show everyone that he is not what people are saying?
Lance: Well, let’s be honest with one another, since defeating me Spike really hasn’t done all that much. I mean he beat Ortega, but a one armed monkey that was a champion could do that, Ortega is known for being the choke master when it comes to title matches. Then Spike went one on one with his now extinct brother, Christian. Christian was never a contender for the World Title, he was simply more of a spot filler while I was away. Lately Spike hasn’t really proven anything to anyone, and he hasn’t been doing much winning of late neither. I mean, it had to get into his head when RJ and I defeated him and Manson.
Cooper: He is the longest reigning champion in the history of nCw though. I mean, regardless of whom he has beat to get there, he is the flag bearer, and he is the man to beat in your company.
Lance: Oh, there is no denying that fact. As I said, this will be a difficult match. You see, last time around Spike and I were at war with one another, things became deeply personal. He claimed to be the father of my child, I named my child after his deceased son, and well, let’s be honest, we both resolved to beat the snot out of one another when we set foot in the same ring. This time, things are a little different.
Cooper: How is that?
Lance: Well, for starters, I am out for myself and not for the ridiculous fans. I will not be out these to put on any show for them, not looking to hit high spots, not looking to get cheers, this match will simply be a down and dirty, and I will be fighting a strictly smash mouth style. Also, we all know for a fact that Zell is my son, he is in my custody, and let’s be honest, Spike’s Zell couldn’t possibly get any deader.
One thing that I found really funny going into the tag match against these two is that they both echoed the same sentiment, that I am washed up and past my prime. It is going to be interesting to see if they can come up with a new line going into our match at Sovereign, because I think that my record over the past few weeks has spoken for itself. A win over them, a win over the Holland’s, and a singles win over Dave Holland himself. I believe that I have proven to the world that not only am I past my prime, but I am actually in the best shape of my life, and putting on the best performances of my life. The Age of the Revolution has rejuvenated me, it has given me something to fight for, and frankly, Spike Kane is the washed up one if you ask me. He has seemed half-hearted at best, and looks to be dropping that title at the first chance.
Cooper: Well, even if you think that Spike is no longer up to par, you do have to deal with Jack Manson. If there is anyone in nCw that knows you better than anyone else, it is quite clear to me that that man is Jack Manson. You and Manson fought side by side, he knows your moves, he knows how your mind works, and worst of all he knows exactly what your strategies are.
Lance: Wrong. He KNEW what all my strategies WERE. The Lance Ryan that stands before you now, and the Lance Ryan that will win the World Title on Sunday are vastly different than the Lance Ryan that was a part of No Warning Shots. I am out of control, I will do whatever it takes to win and I will run over anyone that tries to get within my path. You see, I do see things from every side though, and I realize what is going on with Mr. Manson. You see, Manson is in this match, and he hopes to show the world that he is deserving of being there, but the fact is simple. He doesn’t. Jack, I know that you believe that your national title reigns speak for themselves, and I know that you feel like you are ready to take that next step, but the fact is, you have done nothing to impress me. You were put into this match via a bet. That to me is a joke. Spike Kane is here because he defeated me, plain and simple. I am here because I was the first world champion in nCw history, and you are here because…Davey Ortega won a bet. One of these things is not like the others…one of these things is out of its league…
Cooper: Let’s go grab a bite to eat dude.
~*~*~The two men shut off the lights in the community center that it all started in and lock the door on their way out into the early evening. The sun is setting, and there are people bustling around outside in every direction now.~*~*~[/i]
Lance: You see what I am saying though? I mean, I really do not sell either of these guys short, they are truly two of the best wrestlers that wrestling has to offer, but neither of them is ready for the complete onslaught that is coming their way this Sunday, neither of them can possibly comprehend how important this match is to me, this is my shot to get my belt back.
Cooper: Have you considered what kind of impact Davey Ortega being the referee may have on this match man? I mean, the guy does hold a lot of ill will towards you.
Lance: Think that statement through Al. I mean, he holds ill will to each of us. Spike is the man that usurped him as leader of the Empire, I am the man that helped tear him down, and Jack Manson was also a member of NWS when we set Ortega up. The bottom line there is that we all hate his guts, and he all despises the ground that he walks on. The irony is that Davey Ortega is again going to be a part of the World Title Match, and for once when he doesn’t win the title, he will have a valid excuse. Davey Ortega is a s**t stain on the underpants of society, he really does serve very little purpose in nCw, except for possibly comedic relief…Davey, I have no respect for you whatsoever, and never will. You are the laughingstock of all that is nCw. I have but one piece of advice for you Davey Ortega, call the match down the middle, and do not cross the boundaries. If you lay a hand on me, I will drop you without a second thought.
~*~*~Lance stops walking abruptly, and is staring at a box that is clearly weathered and beaten down by the snow. The box is nearly falling apart, and there is a scraggly man inside the box. Allan walks over and tries to fix some of the bends in the box and the man crawls out in a hurry and shoves the nearly seven foot Cooper away.~*~*~[/i]
Transient: Get away…get away…my house…my house…
Lance: Wow. An analogy right there. You are a sad pathetic man, you know that sir? You cling to this box in such a way that it makes you freak out when someone touches it. Allan was simply trying to make the box stand upright for you, and yet somehow you get the courage to push a man that is nearly twice your size. It is funny how even the lowest lights of society buy into the importance of belongings and the ridiculousness of independence. Do yourself a favor, get yourself a job, do something with your life…
Transient: Cansh you shpare a dollar?
~*~*~Lance pie faces the transient knocking him to the ground and he and Cooper walk away.~*~*~[/i]
Lance: Who knew that he had a little Manson inside of him as well. Trying to feed off of other people’s success.
I cannot believe the myriad of emotions that I have going into this match. I wish that the other two men were in their prime, but Spike is past his, and Jack is not in his yet. I respect both men, yet have a hatred that runs deep into my veins for both of these men. I look forward to being the World Champion again. But underneath all of my feelings lies how I truly feel about the four of us that have a role in this match. Spike Kane is a pompous, arrogant, cocky son of a bitch that is well past his prime, and unable to face the fact that his son died years ago, saving the child from a f**ked up childhood and a horrible father. Jack Manson is indeed a man that won his title shot as if through lottery. He is a man that has made a career off of riding others’ coat-tails, and a man that cannot get the job done on his own, as proven by his loss to Joe Everyman. Davey, well Davey is Davey…straight up overhyped. Then you have me. The first champion here, the first hall of famer here, riding the waves of a huge winning streak into Sovereign and the only man that anyone can select to have a clear and decisive victory. Allan, watch closely Sunday as I become a new first…the first man to be two time World Champion in nCw.
~*~*~The two men turn up a sidewalk and enter a pub as the scene fades out to black.~*~*~
~*~*~A very confident Lance Ryan is heading into the pay per view. He appears to be confident that he can not only compete on the same level as the other two men in this match, but also seems confident that he will leave with the title, no questions asked. Nobody can disagree with the role that Lance has been on of late. Will this roll continue through Sovereign and result in a second nCw title reign, or will Lance succumb to Spike Kane and Jack Manson?*~*~[/i]
The world has come full circle,
Everything seems to be complete.
My spot back, my child back,
Back is my will to compete.
Spike Kane and Jack Manson,
Two of the best that are in this place.
I am faced with a tough mountain to climb,
But one that I am willing to make and face.
I will walk into Sovereign as the challenger,
But that title will be close, ever so near.
But I promise you all one small thing…
At the end of the day, The CHAMP will be HERE
Everything seems to be complete.
