[Simon lays over the edge of Zelda’s bed, his head leaning over the side as he looks up at her personalized Lime Green Nintendo 3DS and clicks away at the buttons, not really appearing to be that into whatever he’s doing on the system, until Zelda walks in and smiles at him as he lays there upside down, even though she seems a bit confused.]
Zelda: Enjoying yourself?
Simon: Just waiting on you to get back...
Zelda: When did you get here?
Simon: A few hours ago, your dad and I were going over some things before our match.... and before he started “going over” his therapist.
[Simon pulls himself up and places the DS to his side. He faces his girlfriend and smiles back at her now as he tries to get her to come towards him and possibly sit in his lap, but she stands still.]
Zelda: You and Gib seem to be taking this match pretty seriously. Good.
Simon: Yeah, I don’t know... really I just want to slap that goofy ass smile off of Todd’s face, you know? There is just something about that guy, he acts like such a raving retard that I just want to take him and shake some sense into him. I mean seriously? “Howl are you doing”!? What kind of stupid ass **** is that?!
Zelda: SIMON!
[Zelda rushes over and puts her hand over his mouth. She looks at him concerned and then looks towards her bedroom door as if trying to see and listen if anything is about to come through.]
Zelda: You can’t talk like that! Crystal is in the other room, she could hear you and she’s my best friend!
[She lets go of his mouth.]
Simon: Oh crap.. I’m sorry...wait... I’m not allowed to talk about my opponent for my match because she’s here?
Zelda: Yes please... don’t insult him, I don’t want Crystal hating you.
Simon: But...
Zelda: plllleeeeeaaaseeee... Just not when she’s around... do it for me?
[Zelda bats her eye lashes, puffs out her bottom lip and gives SImon the “puppy dog” look. Simon tries to fight this, but we all know that is a futile attempt. He just takes a deep breath and nods his head. Zelda smiles and walks towards him, biting her bottom lip now cutely. She puts her index finger in his chest and smiles devilishly.]
Zelda: I’ll thank you later ok?
Simon: Anything for you...
[Fade out.]
So Team America...
The team of the big oafish aging megastar of yesteryear and the brash young hot head who were joined together because of their mutual love for “Murika” is taking on Two Token Black Dudes.. whose gimmicks seem to be that they are two black guys who aren’t hindered by the fact that they are black?
Why do I feel like I’m in the middle of a bad joke here?
Or about to be the subject of a grand jury hate crime investigation...
You know what, it’s hard to hate on either of these guys... hell I don’t think I’m allowed to hate on Todd Williams since my girlfriend is best friends with his wife and AC Douglis...what is there not to like about that dude? I mean I could go on and on about all the goofy **** that Todd Williams manages to do on a daily basis or all the dumb ass nonsense that he spews from his mouth, especially when he’s pretending to be a white news reporter, which by the way... is pretty retarded.... just saying, not hatin’, but I just really think that it would be pointless for so many reasons. It’s not like nobody has ever said it before, or been crowing about it ad nuseum concerning Todd. It’s not like this is something that he shys away from, so what would be the point of right now, going on about how much of a doofus he makes out of himself on occasion? Precisely nobody wants to hear me go on for hours about all the things they can see with theiry own two eyes every week, like I said: Pointless.
Just as pointless as it would be for me to stand here and talk about all the things me and Gib have done as a tag team so far, talk about all the opponents we’ve beaten over the past year and drag on about how invincible we are. Unless AC and Todd have been living under a rock for the past year... they know what we’ve accomplished, they’ve seen what we’ve been able to do with such a short time to prepare as a team. All those people we’ve beaten, all the top talent that has come to bring us down, they’ve all fallen, through it all, through everything thrown at us we’ve retained these belts at every step and it’s not like it’s suddenly a big secret or that I would be dropping some atomic bomb type of news on them with this revelation. So why even bother?
So why even bother?
Which has pretty much been a theme for me this week, why bother talking my head off abou tthis match, why bother worrying about what to expect from this team? I know, they know, everybody knows that they are going to come out and give it their all. They’ve seen how long we’ve been champions, they know how good we are and we know that they are going to bust their asses and give this everything that they can simply because they can see our track record. I don’t really care if they are two black dudes, if they are on some kind of mission or if they are forming their own nation, because none of that concerns this match, so why even bother with it?
To me they are just another team, another team that has formed to chase this gold, another team that is putting their hearts on the line and are ready to give this match everything they have in order to walk away with championship gold. They are going to fight with everything they have, they are going to go as fast and punch as hard as they can push their bodies to do so and I know this. Gib knows this, everybody knows this. The only question is... can we stop them in their tracks? Can we put them down like we’ve done with everybody else?
That I can’t answer yet. Todd is a former World champion, he won the Riot and on any given day he can beat just about any wrestler he wants inside that ring. However, he’s not unbeatable. He’s lost his share of matches, he’s been put in his place a fair amount of time and to think that I couldn’t hold my own against him would be ridiculous. Is he tough? Yes. Is he out of my league to the point that I have to spend hundreds of hours this week solely focusing on him just to make sure I stand a chance and hope for they possibility of catching him off guard with how good I am? no. I can beat Todd Williams, i know I can. I just have to think of him as a top threat, because that’s what he is, he’s proven to be one of the best, now I have a chance to prove that I can stay with that level.
Will I? Who knows. I’m going to give it my everything.... lets just hope that works.
The wild card here is of course AC Douglis. We all know what Gib can do, what I can, what Todd can do... but this AC guy. Who is he? What is he capable of? We don’t know, he’s not been in this position ever before. He could be a future world champion and his pairing with Todd Williams can rival that of even me and Gibby. He could be a Mark Evil and disappear in two weeks... we don’t know. Like I said though... I am sure of one thing, the he knows who we are and he knows what he’s going to have to do to stand a chance. He’s going to bring it his all, he’s going to give this his best and we’ll have to match that to win.
Can we? Hell Yea.
Will I promise it?
It doesn’t matter, because it’s all words at this point... so why even bother?
Lets just say, it’s going to be a great match as long as Todd and AC show up.
Lets just say that they don’t have the same track record as Gib and I.
Lets just say that there are several reasons why we’re the favorites here... most of which are the same reason’s we’ve been tag team champions for over 200 days now.
Best of Luck Todd and AC Douglis, I expect your A games, because at this point if a team faced us and weren’t giving it their all I’d be severaly disappointed. Good luck to you, and have a “Good” daye. Best wishes and whatever hell out cheesy line you can think of that is supposed to garner imagery of respect and sportsmanship...
since I have nothing better to go on about.
[The next day we see Simon in his work out attire heading down towards the basement where Gib’s training facility lies, hand in hand with Zelda. She is always in her workout attire and it’s clear now that the two are going to do spend some time together as a wrestling couple would.]
Simon: Thanks for this, what better way to prepare for a big match than doing so with the winningest person ever in the company.
Zelda: *giggles* You know I already agreed, you don’t have to keep sucking up.
[Zelda turns to where she’s in between Simon and door, adorably blocking his way from actually stepping into the gym. Simon smiles before he steps forward and puts his hands on her hips.]
Simon: Hey, it’s not sucking up if it’s completely 100% true.
Zelda: Yeah yea, whatever. Now... are you sure you want to do this? I’m not going to take it easy on you, you know.
Simon: Oh yeah, I’m positive. You know it’s the biggest reason I wanted to date you... so you could show me your skills.
Zelda: *giggles again* Alright, alright, lets do this then, before you find anymore cheesy things to say to me.
Simon: Good. I’m totally going to have the upper edge on that whackjob, training with THE Zelda Kntie for a whole week before the match!? That crazy nagger will never know what hit him, maybe I’ll slap the white out of him, knock the chicken and grits out of his mouth...
Zelda: SIMON!
[Zelda rushes forward and pushes SImon in the chest, driving him back and away from the door. She puts her index finger on his lips and tells him to hush as she stares at the door.]
Simon: What did I do this time?!
Zelda: Watch it! Jenny is in there working out with Xander!
Simon: You’ve got to be kidding me!
Zelda: NO, She’s always here this time of the day. I don’t want her or Xander not liking you either, you can’t say those kind of things, even if you’re just screwing around. At least not when she’s around. Please?
Simon: So what you’re saying is... I can’t say a single bad word about Todd Williams when either Jenny or Crystal are around?
Zelda: Right.
Simon: and Jenny and Crystal are always here at some point during the day... so for this entire week, before my match against him... I’m not allowed to say a single harsh word directed towards Todd Williams?!
Zelda: Exactly...
Simon: GOD DAMMIT!
[Fade to black.]
Zelda: Enjoying yourself?
Simon: Just waiting on you to get back...
