{Our scene opens up outside of the American Airlines Arena, just a few hours before Metamorphosis is set to begin. The earliest arriving fans have begun to gather near the parking garage, waiting to see their favorite NCW wrestlers arrive. In a few moments, a rental SUV rolls back and parks in the garage, as the fans watch to see who is driving it. Out steps Will Washington, who is greated by some booing from the group of fans. He opens back of his rental, grabbing his bags from the back and preparing to head into the building.}
Fan #1: "HEY WASHINGTON! YOU'RE A PUNK!"
Fan #2: "YEAH! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE DOC KICK YOUR TEETH OUT TONIGHT!"
{Will stops in his tracks and looks up at the fans. He teases going up to see them, but then flashes a cocky grin and turns back to leave.}
Child Fan: "I HATE YOU WILL! DOC'S THE BEST!"
{Having heard this, Will feels the need to respond. He leaves his bags sitting there, and heads up the way to address the fans. As he approaches, a number of fans snap pictures with their cameras and phones.}
Will Washington: "You don't really believe that, do you?"
Child Fan: "Doc's the best! He was in the Young Guns and he's way cooler than you!"
Fan #1: "Doc is gonna kill you Washington!"
{Will brings his hands up to his faces and rubs his brow, agitated.}
Will Washington: "You know it's one thing for you simpletons who never really grew up to insult me, but for you to teach your children the same thing.... Way to go parents of America!"
Fan #3: "Everyone knows Doc is going to shut you up tonight! You don't stand a chance, loser."
Will Washington: "You all are really Doc fans? You believe in Doc?"
Group of Fans: "Yeah!"
Will Washington: "After all he's done... all the demons in his personal life... he's your hero?"
Group of Fans: "Yeah!"
Will Washington: "You know... Sometimes I wonder if you people are even worth saving. Why should I waste my time trying to help you out, when you can't even help yourselves?"
{The crowd grumbles.}
Will Washington: "But the moments like these are the ones that prove to me that I have to do it. I have to beat Doc. Even if you can't be saved, I can still force you to look at the facts. Your eyes can't be opened willingly, but by force, you'll see clearly."
Fan #2: "Shut up. You're just scared of Doc."
Will Washington: "No. I'm scared of what would happen to you idiots if I didn't stop Doc.... scared of what kind of drooling, moronic sheep you'd be if it weren't for me to guide you. If I have to get rid of each of your false idols along the way, I'll do it. When I'm all that's left, you'll have to listen."
Fan #2: "Again, I'd like to listen to you shutting up."
Child Fan: "Yeah. Jerk."
Will Washington: "Well then. I implore you all to watch closely tonight as I cripple the man you all so desperately want to see in NCW again."
{He bends down a little bit to address the young boy.}
Will Washington: "This is going to be a learning experience for you, little man. It's never too early for you to see that all of your heroes are frauds... that all of your gods are mortal. I'm going to wrestle Doc tonight, and I am going to end him."
{Will turns away from that section of the gathered fans and looks at the others.}
Will Washington: "... and it is going to be brutal."
{Washington starts to head back toward his bags as some of the fans start to hurl more insults his way. He reaches his bags and picks them up, looking back up their way.}
Will Washington: "Enjoy the show."
{Will disappears from sight and we fade to black.}

"Think back to one year ago. Think back to Metamorphosis 2012. Andrew Jacobsen and Doc wrestle each other over issues that developed when Jacobsen injured Doc. What move injured Doc? My finisher, 'Kill 'Em All'. Jacobsen put Doc down again that night, and who made his triumphant return right after that match? Me, Will Washington. That night set off a feud between myself and Jacobsen that lasted through an entire, bitter summer, and Doc faded back into obscurity. Doc was long gone, but that night at Metamorphosis... that match and feud with Jacobsen... it set my course and lead me back here to NCW. Doc's belitting of the kid caused me to come back and try and help Andrew out."
"Obviously that didn't work out very well, and eventually I had to do what Doc couldn't do, and put Jacobsen down. But honestly, it's kind of funny how life works like that. I came back at this event last year to try and save one man's future, and this year at the event, Doc comes back to ruin those of so many."
"Irony. You've gotta love it."
"It's times like these when you find out what kind of man you really are. Sure you can sit back and let your opponent do his best to define you, but at the end of the day, it's up to you to define your legacy. One of these defining moments is rapidly approaching, as we speed towards Metamorphosis, and my match with Doc."
"I've been telling you all for years exactly what type of man Chris Docherty is. Simply put... he's nothing more than a parasite... a leech... a drain on society.... a junkie."
"And that's not my attempt to define or categorize you, Doc. You've proven time and time again that you just don't have the heart to be what you actually think you are. You've painted yourself as 'The Boyhood Dream' or 'The Lionheart', but you and I both know nothing could be further from the truth. Deep inside you doesn't beat the heart of a lion, but one of a coward. A man who is scared to let the world know who he really is. I mean... sure you've been pretty forthcoming about your past, and you claim to be in a better place now, but that's not true is it?"
"No I don't have any security camera footage of you and Hexx doing drugs off of Crystal Williams' ass backstage or anything, so there's no real physical proof to what I'm saying. You say one thing, but history says another. Junkies never really get clean, Doc. Sooner or later, they all backslide. Whether it's today, tomorrow, or the next day... they eventually all go back to their old vices. They know the trappings, and they still fall down the hole every time."
"That's why I have no doubt that even if you are a 'changed man' as you would have us believe, it's only a matter of time before you piss it all away for an easy high. That's why I hate that we're bending over backwards to get you to come back. That's why I hate that we're acting like you're doing us a favor by working backstage. Because you're going to get to those kids that you're supposed to be mentoring, and you're not going to make them better, Doc. You're going to make them more like you. We're going to have two or three Doc wannabes thinking they can do whatever they want and never face the consequences for it."
".... We've let you get by with it for too long."
"What are you really planning on doing with the new talent anyway? Tell them that drugs are bad? Tell them that you're a redeemed man? Tell them about your glory days in the shadows of Charlie Velez? People may think that you've got something to offer, but they're blinded by the promise of your inspirational redemption story. You charm everyone over by telling them that you've been to hell and back, only to be repeating your own vicious cycle, to be seen by blind eyes. Everyone wants to give you a second chance... a third chance and a fourth. They'll keep letting you trick them into thinking that you've really changed, and they'll keep diluting the future by doing so."
"Not today. No anymore."
"I'm not going to let you do it anymore, Doc. I'm not going to sit in the shadows and watch while you corrupt everything that I work so hard to change. I'm trying to show everyone that there's a real hope to believe in... I'm showing everyone that no matter how dim the outlook may be, their Paragon will always be there to guide them. The broken can be fixed, Doc... but to do that, I have to get rid of you once and for all."
"That's what happens on Sunday. I go out there and destroy the distractions... I cure the disease that is Chris Docherty. Unsanctioned or not... in a wrestling ring or in the parking lot... This all comes to an end on Sunday... YOU come to an end on Sunday. At Metamorphosis, I snuff the flames of a dying fire."
"The 'Boyhood Dream' officially dies."
"Such promise at one point, all thrown away. It's tragic, but that's life. Eventually we all die, but our legacies live on. Sunday, I'm writing the final chapter of your's and I'm shutting the book on you once and for all. There's no hope left for you, Doc. Come to that ring and give me everything you've got. Leave it all in the ring on Sunday..."
"... And all you'll have to show for it is a bunch of broken dreams and a broken heart."
"... And I'll have the future."
Fan #1: "HEY WASHINGTON! YOU'RE A PUNK!"
Fan #2: "YEAH! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE DOC KICK YOUR TEETH OUT TONIGHT!"
