Sometimes, you need a loss to wake you up. You become comfortable with yourself and your position. You just kind of stop caring. Sometimes as you look inside yourself you have to ask just what the hell your life means. What is your legacy going to be?. How will you be remembered?. As I look back I see a giant hole. A huge chasm where something is missing. Something others have had, something I want and I need. Something that will justify my career, my life choices. Something that has eluded me my whole career in NCW. Five years. Five years of pain, of sacrifice, of obsession. We are slowly coming to the end. The long winding path that NCW has been travelling is running out. And as we approach these final days I have realised that my time is running out. My dreams, my destiny. All of it is slowly fading away. I feel it slipping through my fingers like particles of sand. Grains draining through my fingers. My heart sank as I saw and heard what was to happen to my home. And make no mistake...NCW is my home. Five years of laughter, five years of putting my body and soul on the line and never hiding and never shying away from this world and it's darkness. Whatever you may think of me, whatever you beleive me to be just know that I loved my time here and I cherish each moment I've spent in front of the fans and my fellow NCW wrestlers. May NCW live on and on.....and my my legend grow as I take one last shot at the greatness I have earned.....
Four men
We step in...
Only one winner...
One man.
The others lose momentum.
And in this business.
Momentum....
Is everything...
Momentum can mean the difference...
Between winning...
And losing.
"Mike Laszlo, Joe Everyman and Simon Daye."
Alex lets out a deep breathe as a small smile comes across his face.
"Three men, three men who like me have never been able to win the big one and become the NCW world champion. Three men who have been good enough, three men who have been skilled enough. But have never been able to get over that last hurdle. I've come close, I've touched that belt. I've felt what it's like to almost be the guy in this business. To almost hold that NCW title. Twice I got it taken away. Twice I felt my destiny ripped from my grasp. And the worst part?. Both times it was because of the ***damn Knite family. One memeber of that family is also responsible for the end of NCW. All because he wants to spend more time with his family. His wife, his kids. You know. While I can understand that, I have to ask what in the hell makes his children so special that NCW closes down?."
"I have kids, I have a wife, I have a home life and I love them but NCW is part of my life and if you can't run NCW, if you can't keep the day to day going then why not just put someone else in charge?. The old man retired, left his company to his stupid daughter and her selfish arrogant "wannabe king" husband. But they were too arrogant do the same. Because no member of the Fox family could be in charge NCW is to simply fold up and die. NCW is bigger than one or two family names. NCW is bigger than one man. NCW was a home for the best professional wrestlers on this planet. From legends like Gib, to the best female wrestlers like Zelda Knite, Jenny Williams, Crystal Hilton and Shelly Jones. It was home to the best of the best it was something special. But now, now that dream is over and now here we are waiting for it to die because of the ego's of a power couple who beleive themselves to be the be all end all of NCW....."
"How the mighty has fallen...."
Alex scoffs and shakes his head, his anger obvious.
"And first in our list of misfits is Simon Daye. Simon you started off as an annoying backstage bitch and semi entertaining commentator. Then you became the protege of one of the best wrestlers to ever lace a ;pair of boots. And as you learned everything Gib had to offer you blossomed and showed us that beneath the arrogant asshole frat boy was a guy with some real toughness. A guy who could be a wrestler. A guy who had heart. You can hide it all you want Simon. You can be sarcastic, you can be a smart ass but we all know that under all that, you are a talented guy. And you and Gib have ruled the Tag team division for the better part of a year. You've taken on and beaten all comers. Even myself and my ex tag team partner. You and Gib are a formidable team, and you by yourself have proven to be more than just the image you portray....."
"But with that being said Simon, you're getting in the ring with a guy who feels like his career is northing without that world title. And to get that one last shot I have to go through you. I have to get in that ring and win this match and to do that I have to beat you down. You, Laszlo and Joe....."
Alex smirks to himself and runs a hand through his hair.
“And speaking of Joe, my old friend. A guy I’ve known for almost ten years. Yeah Joe. Ten years. A decade where I’ve watched you sabotage your career time and time again. Three national title reigns Joe, three times you won the second tier belt. Three times you held that belt with pride. But you, like me have never been able to become the NCW champion. And let me let you in on a little secret Joe....”
“I’m secretly pulling for you....”
“If there is one guy in NCW that deserves to get that final icing on the cake and ride off into the sunset aside from me...is you. You’ve bled and sweat NCW since the beginning and you hav e tried and tried to make your mark. And while like me, you have never been champion, just know that the fans of NCW love Joe Everyman. Because you give them hope.....”
Alex stops for a moment and sighs.
“You give them hope because you are one of them. You’re a guy who has always been a fan and you look at this world wide eyed and you love it. And your love for this business is infectious. Hell it’s in your name, “Everyman”. It’s what you are it’s what you represent....but there’s one problem....”
“In being an “everyman” you admit to yourself and everyone else that you are average. And in this business. You need to be above average....you need to be special....”
Alex nods to himself and laughs.
“A guys like Mike Laszlo, who believes himself to be special. A guy who has tried so hard and failed to beat Roberto Verona, And here’s a fun fact, Mike Laszlo, been here for less than half the time I have, and has had MORE title shots and still failed. But with that being said I’m not an idiot Mike. I know how good you are. You and I have had a few matches in the past. We’ve gone toe to toe and I’ve beaten you and you beat me so I know where I stand with you....”
“I have a respect for the three of you. But this is a need. I need to win, I need to succeed, I need to be the best. My last shot my last chance. My last stand.
“I now stand alone. I know stand proud. And I will be champion. “
