We open on a shot of El Dragon de Valor helping with some stage hands to unload some stuff off the NCW big rig outside the arena of our next show, on a bright, sunny day.
Camera man: Excuse me mister...uh...Dragon, but we're here for the promo.
Dragon: Oh, is it that time already? Sorry, lost track of time. Let me just finish this.
Dragon unloads the box he's carrying and then talks to the other workers in Spanish. They nod and thank him for his help before he turns back to the camera.
Dragon: So it is that I have been placed in yet another triple threat match. And I am grateful for the opportunity as I work my way back up from the bottom. This last week was a fantastic match, however Kingsley stole the victory as only an ex-con could. But I will give him his credit, he had truly grown since the time I was gone, and he is a force to be reckoned with I hope I have a chance to face him again before the end and test myself against him. But alas, that was last week.
Dragon walks along the alleyway and around the corner of the arena. He speaks as he continues to move.
Dragon: This week I once again find Caleb Lovkwood to be an opponent. A man of great skill and true honor. Facing him almost felt like facing myself from before the troubled times, and,his passion and values has given me hope that I can return to the man I once was. So to Caleb, I must say thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for taking me to my limits and giving me a real purpose to fight. Though wrestling took me down a dark road, it has also given me wonderful things, and facing such great competition reminds me of just that. So I revel at the chance to face him again and this time, perhaps I can prove my worth and get more into my groove, and maybe even win.
Dragon turns the next corner and finds himself in front of the arena.
Dragon: But then, the main difference of this week, is the inclusion of Ishimaru. Ishimaru is a great warrior. In fact, he seems to follow the same footsteps that me and my partner Bushido had. He's been around the world, he's conquered everywhere else he's been, and now he's here to take on the best. I am more than happy to oblige. He has not been tainted by the demons in the bottles, and I hope he stays that way, because I don't want him to go through what I did. Also, because he's one heck of an athlete. Testing my skills against his will be a great honor, and a true test of whether I am ready or not to take the next step in reclaiming my career.
Dragon walks over to the front doors and steps out a bit. He points toward the sign of the arena.
Dragon: Here, here is where my road to redemption kicks into high gear. Especially with NCW's doors closing soon. Nothing like working under pressure. I will bring my best, I will train my hardest. I will flip and fly, I will ground and pound, and I will slam my opponents to the mat! This is what I want, this is what I need! Damn it to hell, this is what I need to stay clean. True competition, true talent keeping me on my game. Before, i got too cocky. I got too confident in mu abilities, and I drank. I got too complacent and it cost me six months of my life. It cost me my best friends. I will atone for my sin. I will get back in everyone's good graces, or I will fail trying my darnedest!
Dragon looks up at the sign, then looks down.
Dragon: Not for me, but for us. For our legacy. For what I ruined...I...I have to go. Have to get my mind off my inner demons.
Dragon walks away.
We fade in later as the camera looks to be spying on El Dragon de Valor from behind, sitting on the curb. He's dialing his cell phone and puts it to his mask covered ear.
Dragon: Hello...oh hi...I was calling for Bushido, but how are you?...
Loud inaudible jibberish is heard coming from the phone.
Dragon: Miranda...please...Miranda...don't make this harder for me...please just...please let me...
A click and a long beep is heard before Dragon hangs up the phone. He hangs his head. The scene fades out.
