So I'm a little curious what everyone is reading these days.
Currently for monthly comic books I'm reading:
Batman
Green Lantern
Swamp Thing
All New X-Men
Uncanny X-Men
I also just finished reading Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing and picked up Batman: Earth One which I am looking forward to reading.
As a quick personal review of those books:
Batman:
I love this book. I was a little late to the party, jumped in around issue 10, but every issue I've read has been amazing. Writer Scott Snyder really knows how to write a Batman anyone can enjoy and his Joker arch was just sick and spot on.
Green Lantern:
I've been reading Green Lantern since Geoff Johns brought Hal Jordan back from the dead however many years ago that was and I have yet to be disappointed by a single issue. Johns has written some great space operas with Hal and I'm sad that he will be wrapping up his time with the character in the near future.
Swamp Thing:
I've been a fan of Swamp Thing since I was a child but I hadn't read any of the books until late 2011. Scott Snyder has also been writing Swamp Thing and he has painted quite the epic story. He will soon be leaving this title too and I'm pretty sad about that, I'm really hoping the new writer can give us the same quality horror stories that Snyder has.
All New X-Men:
So Scott Summers was possessed by the Phoenix force and killed Professor X a few months ago. Since then, Beast has traveled back in time and brought the original five X-Men to the present so that current Scott could face his idealistic younger self and hopefully avoid a mutant genocide. I've really enjoyed this book and where they are taking these characters.
Uncanny X-Men:
This book follows Scott Summers and his team of X-Men, Magneto, Emma Frost and Magick as they find and recruit new mutants that are popping up all over to world so that they may train them for whats to come.... A Mutant Revolution. I love the direction they've taken Cyclops in and this is the book to read if you want to follow his journey.
As far as novels go, the next one I will be picking up is Anne Rices "The Wolf Gift" and will definitely review it as soon as I do.
