"The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will." - Vince Lombardi
{The scene opens up inside Will Washington's home where we find our hero getting a glass of lemonade from the refrigerator before sitting down at the kitchen table. There, his fiance sits at her laptop, feverishly typing away at the keys.}
Will Washington: "Can you believe that in like... three weeks we're going to be getting married? Seriously. Nobody who knew me two years ago would have ever believed this was happening."
Kristen: "I know. It's pretty crazy. I've still got so much to do, though."
Will Washington: "Didn't we start planning this thing months ago? How much more can you have left to do?"
Kristen: "You have no idea. Maybe if you'd help a little more, I wouldn't be so stressed."
Will Washington: "Hey! A man can only look at so many different types of invitations before he wants to gouge his own eyes out."
Kristen: "There weren't that many invitations..."
Will Washington: "Yes there were! I looked at over two hundred different font types alone!"
Kristen: "Getting the right invitations are important, Will. You remember what happened on Seinfeld when George got the cheap ones? Do you want me to end up like Susan?!"
{Will leans over and kisses his fiance on the head.}
Will Washington: "A Seinfeld reference... I knew there was a reason I loved you, and I'm sorry for doubting you."
Kristen: "Stuff your sorries in a sack, mister!"
{Will thinks back to his trip down the rabbit hole.}
Will Washington: "Philip Burns."
Kristen: "What?"
Will Washington: "Don't let me forget to invite Philip Burns and Mike Honcho to the wedding."
Kristen: "Oh. Okay."
{The couple sits there for a moment as Kristen pecks away at her keys.}
Will Washington: "I can't help but think how much life has changed for me lately. I've been here for almost 4 years, and I've been through so much. I'm a much better person now, but I'm still in the same spot I was back then."
Kristen: "What do you mean?"
Will Washington: "In my first two months here I was already competing for the World Title. Fast forward three years and some months and I still haven't won the belt."
Kristen: "You're closer than ever, Will! You almost won at the last pay-per-view, and I know you'll do it this time."
Will Washington: "Yeah, but what happens if I don't?"
Kristen: "Then you'll try again."
Will Washington: "That's just it though. This is my last try. NCW is closing down soon, and I'll never get another chance."
Kristen: "Why are you even thinking about it like that? You and I both know you're going to beat Verona at Sovereign. It's the only chance you need."
Will Washington: "I'm glad you've got faith in me. It doesn't seem like many other people do."
Kristen: "Oh come on. You've got me, your family, your friends... your fans. You've got more than Roberto could ever hope to have. So what if he's got the belt and you don't? Soon you'll have that too, and he'll still be the broken, bitter guy he is now."
Will Washington: "If only it were that easy. Who knows what the guy has up his sleeve for me..."
Kristen: "He's got some tricks. So what? You've climbed bigger mountains than him."
{Will stops and thinks to himself. He shakes loose some doubt and realizes the opportunity laying at his feet. He can't afford to lose... he won't lose.}
Will Washington: "You're absolutely right. I don't know what I was thinking... I'm more worried about this wedding than I am about Verona."
Kristen: "I would be too. We've got hundreds of guests coming, and you're sitting there sipping lemonade like one of the Golden Girls."
{Will stands up from his chair and pushes it under the table.}
Will Washington: "Uh... I've actually got a personal appearance I have to get to...."
{He bends down and kisses Kristen again.}
Kristen: "Will Washington, no you don't!"
{He backs away from the table and makes a beeline for the door.}
Will Washington: "Yeah and I'm running late... so..."
{Will swings open the door and exits quickly, leaving Kristen sitting at the table.}
Kristen: "Get back here and help me you jerk!"
{Will yells from outside the door.}
Will Washington: "I can't here you! I'll be back later!"
{Kristen drops her head down on the keyboard of your laptop and lets out a sigh as we fade to black.}

"As the clock runs down on the existence of NCW, a lot of people are left to look back at the past. In a time as scary as this one, people look for what's comfortable... they look for the proverbial safety blanket to keep them warm when the air of reality is too frigid. It's human nature to seek shelter, and the Ace is no different."
"There are a lot of legendary NCW stars coming back for our final few months, trying to get in that one last memory before it's all gone for good. Everyone from Philip Burns to Angel to Spike Kane and Rob Diamond has returned to help this place close it's doors. And while all those people have been met with open arms and overwhelming praise, I can't help but notice how hollow it all is. These men who made their names here and benefitted from our success can only be bothered to show face when it's convenient."
"That's what this is all about to me... not the guys who are here to go out on a high note. It's about those of us who have been here in the darkest days when things looked bleak. See, Ace... barring an absence here or there, you've been with NCW for the highs and the lows. You've come to work every week to be the best and help this place be its' best. Sure I don't agree with your methods and I see you as a complete and utter scumbag, but at least you're someone who puts in the effort. New Championship Wrestling wouldn't even still be around today for the fair weather wrestlers to come back to if it weren't for guys like you to keep it alive."
"And now you're getting into the Hall of Fame for your effort. Congratulations. It's a well-deserved honor. Long after this company is gone, people will still talk about you like the legend that you've become. I could list all of your accomplishments, but I'm sure you don't need to be reminded of your successes. You're a Hall-of-Famer through and through."
"Yet, that's what bothers me the most. You've made your mark here... you know what it takes to get to the top... and yet... you question me. You look into a camera with lifeless eyes and tell me that I don't have what it takes. You question my heart, my drive, and my determination...."
"You look at me and you see what you want to see. You see the lack of titles on my resume as evidence that I'll never be World Champion. That's the story on my career though, isn't it? The guy who was great but never great enough? The would-be king who could never reach the crown? It that's the book that's written, then so be it. Believe what you want to believe. I'm here to tell you though, Ace..."
"... this story isn't over yet."
"Write me off because of the lack of gold adorning my mantle... question me for my lack of it... but don't ever question my will to win. The world will never truly know how much I want to be World Champion... they'll never know the lengths I'm willing to go to get that belt around my waist. I'll take Roberto Verona all the way to the edge, and even further if need be. I'm not going to die in that ring to be champion, but I'll get as damn close as I have to."
"That's what you don't understand, Ace. You don't know me well enough to know exactly what kind of man, and what my limits are. Look back at last week and the challenge Verona threw in front of me. I had to face two big, tough Australians, and did I back down? No. I faced down the obstacle and I beat it. Two against one and I still beat them. I was thrust into the lion's den... I walked through a fire, and I'm still standing, and I'm still chasing the dream. And yet you still question my will?"
"I don't have anything to prove to anyone... I don't owe you anything. I don't even owe the fans or my family anything. I know what I am. I've never been World Champion, and I can't change the past. Everything that's happened has happened, and god knows you people remind me enough of it. I've 'never won the big one'... I haven't been 'the guy'. Well that's about to change in a little more than a week. I will face Roberto Verona. I will beat Roberto Verona."
"... and I will shut you up."
"You're a heck of a competitor and you have the resume to match, but your time has happened already. And while some people look to NCW's past and some look the future and where they can go next, I'm looking at Sunday. I'm looking at the Collision Main Event, and I'm looking at you, Ace. You're the last man standing on my road to Sovereign... the last man standing between myself and Roberto Verona. And when we come face-to-face on Sunday, it's going to take a lot more than some half-assed puns and a history lesson to beat me."
"Still, I know that Roberto has made himself the referee and I've got another uphill battle on my hands. I don't expect a fair fight, but I expect a fight nevertheless. And even though Roberto sees this as another opportunity to screw with me and break my spirit... he doesn't realize that he's still going to be in that ring with me on Sunday... and in that ring... he's fair game. Referee or not."
"I'm knocking at the door of your kingdom, Roberto. The final Pawn falls on Sunday. And at Sovereign? I take the king's crown."
