These are the days. The end complete.
The world still turning to the sound of the suffering.
You are the jury, we are the saints.
Our minds divide, the past repeats.
A war still brewing in the hearts of those we once bled.
I am the knowing, the living dead.
The world still turning to the sound of the suffering.
You are the jury, we are the saints.
Our minds divide, the past repeats.
A war still brewing in the hearts of those we once bled.
I am the knowing, the living dead.
... That is why after the two-thousand thirteen edition of "A Night to Remember" I will be retiring from full time competition. I started into this business at a pretty advanced age and I know the last seven years have been really rough on my body. I have been involved in some of the most brutal matches in professional wrestling history
the scene opens up with Markus Reeves sitting in front of a microphone at the official "A Night To Remember" press conference
Member of the Press: We have seen a relatively more aggressive presence out of you in recent weeks with you attacking Crystal Hilton. Do you care to explain your actions?
Markus Reeves: What is there to explain really, I had to send a swift and blunt message to Todd. He is one of few people left in nCw that I haven't had the privilege of facing one on one in my career and since I know that Todd isn't the smartest man in the world I knew that the only way I could get him to accept my match for A Night to Remember was to go out and harm the one person that he cares about. Well we seem to be having this match after all so it appears that I got my across loud and freaking clear.
Member of the Press: What do you plan on doing with your new found time now that you are officially retiring?
Markus Reeves: Well really nothing is going to change since for the last year and a half I have pretty much been wrestling once every couple of months. I still plan on being active in the wrestling community and just because I am retiring from full time competition doesn't mean that you will never see me in the ring anymore. I just plan on managing my daughters career as she enters the wrestling business and maybe I'll help keep some of the bigger jackasses off the back of Fergus Callaghan as he looks to continue his career.
Member of the Press: What is to become with Reeves Enterprises?
Markus Reeves: Really, we are at a press conference for the final pay per view in New Championship Wrestling history and you go and ask a question like that? Do you really have no respect for the business?
Member of the Press: No not really, I do work for TMZ.
Markus Reeves: No surprise there, I will be selling Reeves Enterprises to Google within the next few months. That way I will have more time worrying about my daughter getting into the ring and less worrying about if my company is going to be undermined by those ***damn Chinese who seem to be able to make t-shirts for next to nothing. Now Mr. TMZ guy I really hope someone with a little more respect for me and the company takes your tape recorder and inserts it into your ****ing ass. Do we have anymore questions?
Markus pauses for moment
Markus Reeves: Good, now I'm heading to the bar and I'm buying drinks for any member of the media that doesn't work for TMZ. If a member of TMZ shows up I will stick a cactus up their ass. Thank you and I'll see you mother****ers at the bar
The scene fades out and back into Markus Reeves, Fergus Callaghan and Miyoko Oshiro sitting in a bar. They are the only three sitting in this particular bar as the party that Markus had promised had wound down
Fergus Callaghan: Hell of a party Markus.
Miyoko Oshiro: Yeah dad, way to go out with a bang.
Markus Reeves: Thanks guy, I'm glad I could spend it with you guys.
Fergus Callaghan: Yeah, and I still can't believe that TMZ guy showed up even after you warned them not too.
Markus Reeves: Yeah, I'm hoping that it is extremely painful when they remove that cactus from his ass.
Fergus Callaghan: Are you looking forward to retirement?
Markus Reeves: Honestly not really but I know it's something that has to be done. I'm not a young man anymore and I don't want to be that guy who is still trying to hang onto his glory and then ruins his reputation even though I really don't have much a reputation left anymore.
Fergus Callaghan: Yeah, it seems to be as a woman abuser anymore.
Markus Reeves: Okay, I'm not proud of what I did to Zelda Knite but honestly if you knew how much money I made from those few appearances there is no way you have turned it down either and in the case of Crystal Hilton you already know it was the only way to get Todd to accept this match.
Fergus Callaghan: Fair enough, I'm glad to know that you have my back after this place closes. It really does mean a lot to me.
Markus Reeves: You are like a son to me Fergus and I'm glad I can help you out. Maybe you can do what I never was able to do and win a damn world title.
Miyoko Oshiro: but dad you did win a world title technically, hell you won two.
Markus Reeves: Yeah but unfortunately they both fall under unofficial since Leo ****ed me out of the one against Spike Kane and I won the TXW title outside of that fed. Still gonna have to say that I had a heck of a career none the less.
Bartender: Last call
Fergus Callaghan: Well, it's that time of the night and only fifteen or so more hours left in your wrestling career, I'll by your last drink as an nCw wrestler.
Markus Reeves: Works for me.
Fergus comes back to the table with a beer for himself and Markus and a soda for Miyoko. All three hold their drinks up.
Fergus Callaghan: To the best damn wrestler I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friend.
Markus Reeves: Cheers
The scene fades out.
Well Todd here we are. We know stand on the precipice of a day that I never thought would ever come. Not only are the doors closing on the best federation that I have ever had the privilege to wrestle for but it is also the closing on my career.
Now I can go out in a blaze of glory because I don't have to worry about stepping into the ring again and I can truly leave everything in the ring even if it means me being wheeled out on gurney with a barely a pulse and breath left in my body. Why would I do that you ask well it's really quite simple Todd, I do it because I am a true showman, I love going out and putting on a great match for the crowd. Todd you are former World champion and I know that we have a great chance of putting on the best match of the night. We are going to blow the roof off the building and then tear down the arena and when people look back in the history books people from far and wide will say that the match between Todd Williams and Markus Reeves was one of the greatest matches that they ever witnessed.
Todd, I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that I go out on top in my final match. I will not allow myself to experience another failure in what was already pretty much a dismal career with the except with a few glimpses of brilliance. Am I true former World Heavyweight champion? No. Am I going to be an nCw Hall of Famer? Probably not but will I be one of a few people who can say they won a match on the final night that New Championship Wrestling was open. Todd, I'll see you in a little over fourteen hours and you better bring your A game because if you don't I will make you look like a joke in front of everyone in attendance and watching at home and you will be a laughing stock just like my career.
Dig deeper, remember
All you've been and all you've left behind.
Wave goodbye, my dear.
