::The scene opens up in a quiet woodland area. The whole place is pitch black, due it being night time of course, and the only thing we can see of the surroundings is what the light from the full moon hits. A pale whitey blue curtain of light beams through the dancing tree branches as the wind blows harshly. It‘s starting to get very cold here as the night draws on. The nocturnal animals all start their routine search for food and it’s not long before all kinds of noises are in ear shot.
From the distance a car engine can be heard approaching slowly. The camera pans around and the headlights of the car come into view as it makes it’s way to a large opening between the trees. The camera stays focused on the car from afar as it comes to a halt and turns it’s engine and headlights off. The whole area retains it’s peaceful atmosphere as the person inside the car sits still for a moment. The shadow can be seen in through the windscreen but it‘s motionless.
After a few minutes the driver door opens up and out steps Jack Manson. He is unshaven and has slight bags under his eyes. His face is emotionless and it looks like he has been plagued by unwanted emotions the last few days::
[red]JM: It stops tonight.[/red]
::The wind blasts Manson’s body and his long black trench coat blows behind him like a curtain of swirling darkness. He walks round to the trunk of the car and opens it up. The camera zooms up close and sees Manson reach inside and pull out a large black sack and a few smaller boxes. He places them a few feet in front of the car on the cold grassland. Manson slams the trunk shut and walks over to the items on the ground.
An owl hoots loudly shattering the eerie silence. Manson looks at the ground and slumps to his knees, the petrol can tipping onto it’s side as he lets go of it. He opens the bag and pulls out a bunch of photographs, the loose ones blowing away as the wind grasps them. Manson takes a look at a few of them, but the camera is too far away to see what the photographs are of.
[red]JM: I thought I had forgotten the pain you induced me to. For two years I was played a fool. Well, I won’t be made a fool of anymore. I am haunted by your name, your memories, your act of adultery which destroyed my life. It stops tonight.[/red]
::He puts the photographs back into the bag and stands up, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a lighter. He checks to make sure the lighter works. It does. He looks up towards the sky and beyond the trees, the moon illuminating his outline in the darkness. Bending over the puts his hand inside the bag and flicks the lighter on, a smokey trail soon emerges from inside the bag, weaving up through the air followed a flickering orange glow. He takes his hand out as the flames begin to burn through the painful memories that Jack has kept locked away inside all these years. The plastic bag soon begins to melt and holes emerge as the fire grows stronger. Manson’s front of his body and face has a soft warm glow to it as he reaches down and places some of the boxes onto the fire. The fire soon becomes more wilder as it continues to burn the possessions.
[red]JM: It’s finally over. Lance, my friend, telling you my past was something that needed to be done to assure you that you weren’t the only one who has went through this kind of thing. I felt it was necessary to share with you my problems to help you overcome yours, and it seems to have worked. However I regret opening up this Pandora’s box of pain and must now take action to assure I burn all ties to the past.[/red]
::Manson looks around the area as the fire burns in front of him. It’s not long before the wind picks up again the ash and remains of the items are blowing away into the night sky. Manson turns and walks towards his car, he takes one last look at the dying fire and let’s out a sigh of relief. As he drives off the camera heads towards the fire and zooms in on a half charred photo of a young Jack Manson with his false daughter. They both look happy and Manson has a look in eyes that has long since vanished. The scene fades to black::
*Next Day*
::Manson and Cooper are training together in the gym Jack attends. Manson is in black shorts, black vest and black headgear. He looks more focussed and his normal self today after having a shave and some good nights sleep. Cooper has a similar attire on and both men circle each other in the sparring ring. Jack’s manager Tony is stood on the ring apron outside shouting for them to get going. Jack rushes in and circles around the 7ft monster and grabs him by the waist before locking him up in an attempted chokehold. Cooper shrugs it off and simple leans forward, lifting Manson who is stretching as it is, off the ground and runs him into the turnbuckle. Manson’s grip is released and Cooper turns round. He grabs Manson round the throat and lifts him off the ground as he gasps for air. Tony looks over his sunglasses in disbelief as he told both guys to take it easy at the start of the workout. Manson plants a stern kick to Allens gut and he drops to the ground. Manson reacts and quickly lays some punches to the big man’s head. They rattle him slightly but not enough to take Cooper down::
[blue]T: ALRIGHT TIME! What the hell is wrong with you two? I told you to take it easy on each other and here you are fighting like it was your last match of your careers. Pack it in, I want you both fit for Transgression.[/blue]
[green]AC: Your trainer, he certainly likes to whinge a lot.[/green]
[red]JM: Tell me about it. Tony don’t worry about it. We are professional enough to understand each others training styles. It may of looked it but that wasn’t us going all out on each other. [/red]
[blue]T: Fine, fine. Just don’t go over the top.[/blue]
::Cooper steps out the ring and grabs a towel and an energy drink before sitting on the bench. Tony throws Manson a towel and he dries his sweat covered forehead and face. He takes a long swig of ice cold water before switching over to a bottle of cold Lucozade::
[blue]T: It’s good that you have somebody like him on your side. That guy is a monster and will tank his way through damn near everyone on that roster when he’s in his game.[/blue]
[red]JM: That’s why Lance brought him in. I wasn’t too confident after seeing his defeat to Ortega, but Ortega is tough competition. I put it down to nerves. Don’t worry though, Cooper will show the world what he is capable of when he steps in that ring Sunday.[/red]
[blue]T: Only thing I’m worried about is the state Ghost and Jason are gonna be in after the match is over.[/blue]
[red]JM: We’ll just have to see what happens. I expect a performance from them both, but it won‘t amount to much. I don‘t see any problem coming from them two sorry excuses of crap. Spike Kane has just made a bad move by getting these two in The Empire. It‘s a move that‘s just inevitably going to backfire on him.[/red]
[blue]T: Well let’s face it, NWS has got the best talent on the roster together. Other than what’s in The Empire already Spike is left with slim pickings. A small team that possesses the passion, skill, strength, and loyalty together is always going to fair better against a team of mediocre fighters. It’s like the battle between the three hundred Spartans who held off the thousands of soldiers from the Persian army. The Empire are simply the Persian’s to NWS’s Spartans.[/blue]
[red]JM: You finally watched 300 then?[/red]
[blue]T: Hell yeah.[/blue]
[red]JM: I know what you’re saying though so it’s all good. But don’t forget, the Spartans were betrayed and ambushed. Eventually leading them to their deaths. I believe, however, that nobody in NWS is that low. Betrayal is something more along The Empire’s taste.[/red]
::Manson signals for Cooper to come over as he steps back into the ring::
[blue]T: Is he always this quiet?[/blue]
[red]JM: Haven’t heard much from him myself so maybe. He’s on our side though and that’s all that matters to me.[/red]
::Both men are back in the ring and the sparring continues::
*Later that day*
[orange]RJ: Are you sorted for Sundays match then?[/orange]
[red]JM: More so than ever. I plan on teaching those two rookies that they made the biggest mistake of their lives wanting in on this war.[/red]
[orange]RJ: No doubt about it.[/orange]
::The scene opens with Jack Manson sat talking with Reckless Jack in his lavish hotel room. RJ is to attend a press conference with Jack and the other members of NWS. Dressed in stylish suits they continue their conversation::
[red]JM: What about you? Kane is one match away from becoming the first X-Division champion. You ain’t gonna let a repeat of what happened two weeks ago happen at Transgression right?[/red]
[orange]RJ: Kane was lucky, that’s all. Don’t worry it’s all under control. [/orange]
[red]JM: It’s gonna be two matches if you win the first one RJ. This sort of thing calls for extreme conditioning and stamina training. I have faith that you will carry on NWS’s reign as the most dominant force here by winning that title. [/red]
[orange]RJ: I plan to. Christian Kane won’t know what’s hit him come Sunday. [/orange]
[red]JM: Good. And don’t worry, any punks from The Empire try and interfere I’ll make sure help is at hand.[/red]
::Both men shake hands as they leave Manson’s room and head to the limousine waiting outside.
After a short drive they arrive at the set up for the nCw conference. As the car pulls in Manson see‘s Phil and Everyman waiting at the front doors. The press are all over them taking photographs and asking questions to be published in their numerous wrestling publications. Manson and RJ step out after the driver opens the door and the focus soon switches to the new arrivals. They greet Burns and Everyman and a steward informs them that Lance and Allen are already inside. The four men head down the walkway and into the building. Manson sarcastically whispers to Phil…::
[red]JM: You’d think we were superstars.[/red]
::Phil simply smiles as they enter the doorway and see Lane and Allen. Everyone is dressed smartly for the conference and Lance and Everyman have their titles over their shoulders::
[teal]LR: About time guys. [/teal]
[red]JM: There was a bit of traffic down town. So, we all ready?[/red]
[orange]RJ: Let’s do this.[/orange]
[teal]LR: Remember, we are here to promote nCw, not just talk trash about The Empire, although I certainly won’t hold you guys back from laying into them.[/teal]
::The same steward from before comes and guides the six men to the stage entrance. Lance walks on first and the camera’s immediately start flashing and an air of excitement and anticipation fill the room. Manson follows and sits opposite Lance, with Phil, RJ, Everyman, and Cooper all sitting down respectively. Lance leans forward and adjusts the microphone in front of him::
[teal]LR: Okay everyone. Thank you for attending this pre-Transgression press conference. I’m sure there are many questions you want answers to, that is why we are here. So any questions you have please just fire away.[/teal]
::The noise in the room raises up as the reporters all fight to ask the first question. Lance smiles and holds up his hand to shush the crowd. The noise eventually dies down and he points to the first reporter::
Rep1: Lance, it’s no secret that your personal life has been in the headlines of late with regards to your newly-born child. Is it true that Spike Kane is the actual father?
::Now on another day this past week Lance would probably have flipped and tore that guys eyeballs out in anger, but Lance has finally realised that it was all a despicable underhand tactic by the leader of The Empire. Lance smiles once more and speaks into the microphone::
[teal]LR: You’re right, my personal life had become a bit of a soap opera thanks to my man Spike Kane. He tried to gain the advantage by throwing me off guard for our match, and he almost succeeded. Almost. He made me doubt the trust and love I share with my wife, and he made me doubt that my newly born son was in-fact his. But I saw the light. Spike has done this kind of thing before, using dirty tactics to try and get the edge over the opponent. Manson was also a victim to that, however he called Spikes bluff and showed that The Empire’s new leader is susceptible to mind games too. However I digress, to answer your question, no Spike Kane is not the father of my son. I am. I always was and I always will be. Next question.[/teal]
Rep2: Mr. Manson, how do you feel having being put in the opening match on Transgression? Is it a blow to your credibility as a regular main event fighter?
[red]JM: Not at all. It doesn’t matter to me where on the card I fight. Whether it’s in the main event, or opening a show like Transgression. I’m happy to be part of it and every match is important to me, just like the match on Sunday is. It’s a chance to hammer the nail further into The Empire’s coffin by defeating their newest members, that’s how I see it.[/red]
Rep2: And has your current feud with Christian Kane ended now after your victory last Sunday?
[red]JM: I wouldn’t have thought so. I still don’t rate him as good competition here so no doubt he will cross my path again. And if he somehow manages to pull off a miracle victory over RJ and wins the X-Division title, well… I guess I’ll have to ensure his reign is just as short lived as his brothers National title reign was.[/red]
Rep3: Joe, over here. You just won your first title in nCw, how does it feel to grab the gold?
JE: It’s great. I know I haven’t had the best of luck here but I feel that slight dip in form has passed now. I don’t plan on letting this baby go anytime soon.
Rep4: Manson, it’s been quiet week for you with regards to your opponents. Sexy Jason has made just one short appearance, and Ghost hasn’t been seen in a while either. He was so determined to get a match with you, are you disappointed he doesn’t seem to be taking this seriously?
[red]JM: Ghost is a joke. Yes he came here and immediately started running his mouth about wanting to fight me but where is he now? At the time I was too caught up in my battle with Spike to care about what Ghost wanted. But he finally gets his chance this Sunday and then he vanishes much like an apparition does. Maybe he was just that, an apparition to us all. I hope he is taking this match seriously though, it’s fun going up against the guys here who think because they won a few easy victories their unbeatable. Nothing satisfies me more than knocking an egotistical jack ass down a peg or two and reminding them they ain’t ready for the big time quite yet. I intend to do that with Ghost on Sunday. A while back he asked which Manson would be facing him in the ring. Me… Or the maniac. Well Ghost, if you happen to catch this interview, you get both. I’m still the maniac that enjoys beating ten shades of s**t outta his opponents, leaving them begging for mercy. I’ll be bringing both sides of my game to you and Jason in that ring on Sunday. [/red]
Rep4: Allen, this is the first time you and Jack have teamed up together. Do you think you’ll be able to understand each other in the ring due to your differing fighting styles?
AC: I have no doubt in my mind that Jack and myself will work well together. We’ve spent the last week training together, learning about each other’s styles and attributes. We are set for this match.
[red]JM: That’s right. We’re on the same page. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were soon going after the tag team titles after this match.[/red]
::NWS and the press share a chuckle at the light-hearted banter::
Rep1: Lance, as the World champion you are the face of the company. How do you think nCw is progressing since it’s birth?
[teal]LR: It’s progressing well. The company is at it’s strongest, and the only way to go now is forward. Behind the scene’s nCw has been involved with numerous charities and events to help under-privileged children around the world. I might not be one of the suits up in the control room of nCw, but I know a good thing when I see one. We want to give back to the fans for showing us so much passion, emotion, and love over time. The company on a whole has a strong bond with it’s fans and I think that’s one of the main reasons why we get the large crowd numbers we do. It’s not always about title matches and high octane feuds, but how we repay the fans for everything they’ve done so far.[/teal]
Rep1: And what about the rumour of an nCw academy to groom potential stars into, well, stars?
[teal]LR: I haven’t heard anything and too be honest I wouldn’t read much into it. We have a specific screening process that means we only recruit who we think are the best rookies out there. Do they always turn out to be that way? No, but you eventually uncover a diamond in the rough so to speak. We also have our Suspense show, to give our new talent a chance to show what their made of before making the leap to the deep-end.[/teal]
::Another half hour passes and it’s not long before Lance Ryan calls an end to the conference. He thanks the press for taking the time to come out here, and also his NWS members for taking the time in their busy schedules to make it here today. The six men walk back off behind the curtain and are once more backstage. The other members say their goodbye‘s and Jack Manson is left alone with Lance Ryan::
[red]JM: I’m glad you managed to get yourself sorted.[/red]
[teal]LR: I wouldn’t be worthy of being in the NWS if I let Spike win his mind games. I wanna thank you, Jack. For sharing with me your past. I understand how hard it must have been, what memories it must have dragged back. I am truly grateful.[/teal]
[red]JM: Don’t mention it. [/red]
[teal]LR: Listen, I’ve gotta head back. I’ll catch you and the others tomorrow. Good luck, I’ll be rooting for you both.[/teal]
[red]JM: Cheer’s Lance, same goes to you.[/red]
::Manson watches Lance walk off out the door and he is left alone::
*Later that night*
::The weather has turned foul and it’s raining heavily outside. There’s a flash of bright light and the rumble of thunder. It is however 4am so not many people will be experiencing this, especially not Jack who is tucked up in bed. Another loud clap of thunder and he opens his eyes as if he was just abruptly woken up. He hears the rain outside spattering off his window and turns round only to be greeted by the flash of lightening::
[red]JM: Great, how am I supposed to sleep through this?[/red]
Jack: Easy, just close your eyes and forget about it.[i/]
[red]JM: What do you want? I thought I told you only to come when I called for you.[/red]
Jack: I know, I know. But I was getting restless. I had to make sure you’re ready for Sunday. I know you and Cooper have been working well but you could be better. That’s why I think you should do some ‘dreaming’, if you know what I mean?
[red]JM: I know exactly what you mean. Alright, but no funny stuff. Just help me do the job I need to do, okay?[/red]
Jack: Okay, you got it.
::With that Manson closes his eyes and feels his body go numb, yet his senses appear to be normal, almost heightened. He nods off and opens his eyes to find himself back in training::
