The scene opens up inside of Joe Everyman's locker room. Joe is pasing back and forth behind the couch with the National Championship over his shoulder. Maria and Scotty are both sitting on the couch talking. Joe just keeps at it.
Maria Williams: So, when have you guys decided upon?
Scotty Callaway: I'm not exactly sure yet...we're looking for sometime in the fall.
Maria Williams: So, around her birthday?
Scotty Callaway: I was planning on it, yeah.
Maria Williams: That's so sweet. I can't believe my sister is getting married.
Scotty Callaway: I know, it's amazing. I can't believe she said yes.
Maria Williams: Really?
Scotty Callaway: Yeah...I thought she was going to say no.
Maria Williams: Well, with your guy's history together, I know she would say yes.
Scotty Callaway: Oh ok...but what about you and Joe?
Maria Williams: What about us?
Scotty Callaway: About like marriage...
Crash! Maria and Scotty turn around, shocked from what just happened. Joe had walked into an open locker and fallen to the ground.
Maria Williams: Oh my god, Joe! Are you alright?!
Joe sits up and grabs his head.
Joe Everyman: Apparently marriage knocks me off my game.
Scotty Callaway: So, you ran into a locker?
Joe Everyman: Yeah...jumped out right in front of me.
Maria Williams: Sure it did...
Joe Everyman: Oh be quiet
Joe stands up and shakes himself off.
Joe Everyman: I'm fine
Joe takes a step forward but stumbles for a second.
Joe Everyman: Ok...now I'm fine.
Joe hears a knock at the door.
Joe Everyman: Come in
Chad Lights then walks in with a clipboard in his hand.
Chad Lights: Hey Joe...um...what did you do?
Joe Everyman: What do you mean?
Chad Lights: Your forehead is bleeding...
Joe reaches up and runs his finger across his head. He looks at it...covered in blood.
Joe Everyman: Holy s**t!
Joe runs over to a locker and looks in the mirror. He has a huge gash across his forehead from the locker.
Joe Everyman: Oh man...I didn't even feel it.
Chad Lights: Lucky you. That usually hurts pretty bad.
Joe Everyman: Nah, not really. Blood doesn't really phase me.
Chad Lights: Really? Why?
Joe Everyman: I'm not sure...I think it's my history with blood. Mark Evil liked making me bleed. It was his thing I guess. In every non-singles match we had, I think he made me bleed. And mostly, after my match at XHF's Eve of Champions, I don't think blood will ever phase me again. I bleed so much in those matches, I don't think anyone else ever has bleed that much. The ring was a bloody mess from all the blood loss from me and Mark. And that was only after the second match. We still had another, even more brutal match after that. Potter's Field made me bleed worse than anything...but I pulled out the win. Blood makes me fight better. Too bad this match isn't hardcore, eh?
Chad Lights: Guess so. But, what are your thought on your match?
Joe Everyman: I think it's great. I finally get to face JFK again and I get to face John Anthony. Both of these guys are great competitors. But really, all I care about is JFK. I've currently o-fer aganist him. I lost to him in a submission match and when I faced him for the XHF European Championship. He's kind of a rival, and we don't see eye to eye on a lot of stuff. He tried to steal Maria from me more than once, he is an asshole and has an ego the size of Chicago...smells like Chicago too. He thinks he's the best, but that's just because he beat the hell out of his brother, MGK. It was a great rivalry, don't get me wrong, but beating the high hell out of someone enough times loses it's meaning...I mean, look at Mark Evil. After enough of me beating his ass, we set that match as our last ever because we were sick of it. I'm very surprised JFK didn't get sick of it.
Chad Lights: Sounds bad. So, Joe, any closing words?
Joe Everyman: Yeah...just a few. JFK...I'm gunning for you. I've still yet to beat you, and I know damn well that I will this time. I've gained too much hype and too much skill since the last time we faced off, there is no way I'll lose this time. This title means too much to me to just give it up to you. JFK...just pretend Anthony isn't in the match, because I don't give a damn about him. All I'm going to be looking at is you...
Joe backs off from the camera and says a line from a song.
Joe Everyman: I heard you've been looking for me but, you looked for trouble. You're gonna see that your words are dangerous. Your talk is cheap.
So now I'm standin' here...Now I'm standin' here.
Joe smiles.
Joe Everyman: You tell yourself you know what to do and you realize that I am comin' for you then you'll change your mind and run like a child when...
You see me standin' here! Now I'm standin' here!
Joe Everyman: Don't question my heart! Don't question the fire that burns inside! Don't question my heart! Don't question a heart prepare to fight!
Joe pauses.
Joe Everyman: I got where I am because I didn't chase fame. And I seen you before and you're all the same. Just one more mouth talkin' words insane. Just one more mistake, with different names!
Joe grabs the National title and puts it on his shoulder.
Joe Everyman: Don't question my heart! Don't question the fire that burns inside! Don't question my heart! Don't question a heart prepare to fight!
Joe stops.
Joe Everyman: JFK...see you this Sunday!
Joe's words fade out as the scene goes to static
